Talon
No! Why did it have to end so soon? Everything on Earth, seen by the dark full moon. Yet it still bears no knowledge to the tears. It bears no knowledge to ease my worst fears. Continually, I cry, I yell towards the air. Yet the stars bear no testament, or they just don't care. Why she would leave me alone here out in the night, Subjected to the hostility within my own fright? All my mother could do was give me one bit of advice. "Leave me alone", my creator's heart was ice. Now, all alone as she burned her own body away, As I scatter her ashes, they seem to say. "You're alone, vampire child, created from nether" Now, seeking love, in my mind I die forever. I can feel my essence escaping my soul, Slipping through my fingers like the days of old. A new shape grips my bent, broken arm. As if to say "I'll keep you from harm". She pulls me close, caresses my neck. My body heals slowly from its previous wreck. The lips of my Siren meet mine in a kiss, Sending my body to long-awaited bliss. The pain of the past ends, oh so soon. It slips through my fingers in a full-swaying swoon... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An old poem I made long ago after I read "Dracula" and "The Odyssey", hence the reference to the Sirens in a vampire-story. God, I gotta get out more. BTW, when I wrote it, my alter-ego vampire was named Alucard....not a reference to a Castlevania game, actually.
