big petition...

Alright everyone...

I know this might not be cool, so tell me and I will delete it. Please dont close this, just let me delete it.

Anyway, us anime otakus face an epidemic of black death proportions.

Cartoon network is doing the worst...

ending inu yasha, and re airing cowboy bebop for the 5th or 6th time.

I think they should keep inu, and loose cb to make room for reign.

What I ask in this thread is that everyone come on here, give your opinion of this exact subject and please show strong opinions.

I want this to be something of a petition so that one of the more technically literate otakus, can link this thread to cartoon network and hopefully show them the amount of people that are here alone, who wish inu yasha to continue being aired.

I also ask that everyone spend 10 minutes searching the cartoon network site and write cn an email expressing your own opinions of this new development.

Please, we dont have long before these changes occur, but we can still make a difference.

together we stand, divided we fall...

Cowoby Bebop is good, but there's no need to go and do a DBZ and rerun it 7 times... Inu-yasha is a new show, and a very big series, and it had hardly gathered that many fans, and now they're taking it off already? I don't watch CN anymore, but mostly because of all their reruns. They need some new stuff, same old stuff is getting quite old.

I agree that CN sucks in the anime biz.It wouldn't be bad if they took out Bebop, since the new DVD is out.But it's not good taking a fresh new series off the air. What ever happened to Outlaw Star,Tenchi Muyo, and Pilot Candidate.Thos are all great series, but CN don't show 'em anymore, it's just all a pain.

Well hey hey hey, wait a minute.

I didnt do this for sensless bashing of cn. (although that hasnt really happpend. Dont worry...)

But, I do think that if you guys feel strongly you should hit cartoon network directly.

write them. I did, and if everyone that will post did so, we might make a difference.

But, since cn doesnt have reps. coming to the otaku and checking out this stuff, we need to bring it to them.

So lets move it... we need to bring the fight to them. These people are big wig executives and dont play anything besides hardball.

So lets throw some fast balls and F these muthas up. (exscue my language, but I really care about this.)

So... hup to. Now move it. Maggot (in a drill instructor-ish voice)

Are you sure you're not being a little too serious about this? I mean, it's just a show, and you could always buy the DVDs.... >.> But CN is obviously all about the ratings, and maybe Inu-Yasha just wasn't getting the ratings they were hoping for. But you may be able to change their minds, so go for it. ;)

c'mon fellas this is pretty serious. cb has been on the air a little too much, and its BEEN time for another fresh anime to take its spot. Not that cb is a bad show, in fact it is pretty good, but remember, too much of anything is bad for your health. I can understand gokents' strong feelings for the whole issue, and for those of you who want to do nothing but bash cb, find another thread. gokents, im with you, Inuyasha must remain.cn, prepare yourself for some heat.D

Not to sound pessimistic... But petitions of this sort do nothing. There have been at least dozens in the past, and there are many for video game releases (the current one for Earthbound 64/Mother 3 is at almost 30,000 sigs) and even those do nothing. It's kind of a lost cause.

I think the good thing to do would be to go to the store and get the DVDs or get into some other anime. Can't rely on CN forever. I do totally agree that they change the lineups for the worst in almost all of their timeslots though. How many times can I see Scooby Doo in a day? Damn.

At the same time, I feel for you guys as I've gone through the same things. If anyone does go through with this, good luck. There are many online petition sites you could go to for such a thing. I think CN would be far more likely to pay attention to that than a thread as well.

I hate to tell everyone this, but from experience knowing someone who actually works at cartoon network. Your petition will not motivate them to bring back Inu Yasha. Cartoon Network mainly is intersted in what shows can bring them in views and by their statistics Inu wasn't getting enough viewers. Your petition will not work, this is literally coming from a friend of mine that works at CN.

As Sem said this is a good oppertunity for you guys to not be dependent on network anime. Go out and get the dvd volumes, and if you really can't wait to have them put all the Yasha dvds out, get the imported Region 0 box sets. It's time you guys became a little less dependent on stations to bring you anime.

I say... CartoonNetwork just start a whole new channel just for anime. o.o'
That'd be nice. ^_^

Although if it did happen, they'd probably play DragonballZ for half of the day. - .-'

I think we have to remember exactly what Cartoon Network is. It's not really an anime channel at all. The fact that CN even plays anime is pretty remarkable.

Considering that CN is 99% recycled crap, it doesn't surprise me that it only shows a very limited supply of anime. Or at least, that it continually reruns the most popular anime.

I don't think anime will truly be done justice on TV until the introduction of more "world movies" type channels and such. As it stands, if CN is your prime source for anime...then you're not in good shape.

Yeha, but some of us don't have money for it. I'm not old enough for a job and all i get is $5 a week from my parents. I really can't get anime on 5 dollars a week, which is why I was happy when cn played anime because I could see some anime without having to save up money for about a month or 2. Trust me, I wouldn't even pay attention to cn if I had money.

I know how you feel, but I buy tons of anime with my little allowance. Manga's a lot cheaper than anime, but I buy DVDs, too, to it's not really a proper excuse. Anime is expensive for everyone, whether you have a job or not, I tihnk. But network just doesn't cut it for real anime fans. U.U

I agree James. There are any other ways to have access to anime.. The anime channel is coming, etc., and it is remarkable that CN shows any at all.. Would you rather it show none? Well, yeah.. I can't put it as well as James did.

I haven't heard this anywhere else yet, so I'm not sure that I will sign... Hmm...

Anyway, it'c CN's job to supply what the people demand, so, if you all really feel strongly aobut it, then maybe you have a chance, but it seems the people want more CB. I love CB.... And there are many people who are just getting into anime, and CB can show just how great anime can be the first time watching it. But Inu Yasha can do the same, some may argue. It's true, but it's not QUITE so unique.

Though I wish they got rid of soething else besides Inu..

I'll think before I sign..

who saud anything about us ONLY watching anime on cn? i really do hate it when people make assumptions about things they know nothing at all about. the fact of the matter is, we are just trying to help a show that should be there survive. bebop has beem there for awhile, so now its time for something else to take charge. oh, and in terms of ratings, maybe if they showed Inu a billion and two times like they do bebop, it would have better ratings.remeber, this thread is not for doubters. no skeptics allowed.D

Well, soon people wont have to worry about Cartoon Network anymore when ADV starts their Anime Network. It'll be just like Adult Swim except for 24 hours a day. I myself am tired of CN's crap. I am so glad we don't have cable anymore...

See what sort of grief it causes???

Well depending in the area you live in there's a little thing called the video store, that actually have anime movies, granted it's not a large section and depending where you are some have none at all. However Hollywood Video and Blockbuster are currently building up these sections.

As for the money issue I know that's rough on some, however anyone in the Metropolitan area, can get an anime for 5 dollars a tape or 12 dollars a dvd. If you don't believe me, I'll literally take you to the places to find the deals and show you that there are alternatives to relying on Stations to air stuff.

I am now really happy because of what you (asuka) just said.

could you talk alittle more about what the deal is with this new network.

Thanks
Well, I saw it in Newtype magazine a few weeks ago, but ADV is started an anime network that is going to be available through cable TV. So for all you nice folks who can afford cable, enjoy.
