RPG Torneko, Semester 1

A flute like melody chimed across the campus as the new students and faculty studied their surroundings. Bozels deep voice echoed into every building.

[COLOR=indigo]"Greetings and salutations to all of you out there. This is headmaster Bozel speaking and it pleases me to welcome all of you to another Semester here at Torneko high. Some of you students are old faces and some are new but i'm sure we will all get along more or less. Of course I would also like to extend my greetings to our new staff of teachers. I'm sure you will do an excellent job of filling in for the old staff who unfortunetly perished with most of last years graduating class during the graduation trip that accidently ran into that cluster of flesh eating lava worms."[/COLOR]

[COLOR=indigo]"On a more positive note some of you might notice that the campus has greatly moved in to the twenty first century and beyond thanks to the efforts of our local engineer Cage."[/COLOR]

A lighter and slightly squeaky voice pops up. [COLOR=seagreen]"Thanks Bozel, hello there for those of you who don't know me I'm the surpreme genius Cage who designed most of what you are seeing including this brilliant com system that we are speaking through even now. I would like to add I have finally finished adding bathrooms to the recreation area. The new toilets are self cleaning, made of stainless steel and even have a built in plasma cannon to deal with unwanted intruders."[/COLOR]

There is a moment of silence and the sound of moving levers in the background. [COLOR=indigo]"Cage, why are these new and flawless toilets not flushing?"[/COLOR]

After another moment of silence. [COLOR=seagreen]"Do you have any idea how much power it takes to run a plasma cannon?"[/COLOR]

[COLOR=indigo]"Oh just shut up. Now after you all take a moment to get settled in maybe meet a few of your classmates. Classes will not begin for two more days. Today though is Orientation which will begin in exactly four hours and I would like all new students and faculty to gather in front of the Lost Pool's Dome before that time. That is all."[/COLOR]

There is a small clicking noise just before Cage's voice suddenly yells out. [COLOR=seagreen]"NO!! Don't press that button!"[/COLOR]

[COLOR=indigo]"Why not its the same button I used to turn it on, it should turn it off."[/COLOR]

[COLOR=seagreen]"This system has an on button and an off button, if you press the on button twice it activates the self destruct mechanism!"[/COLOR]

[COLOR=indigo]"Why the hell is there a self-destruct mechanism in the com system!!! You stupid piddling braindea....."[/COLOR] The voice is cut off by a minature explosion tearing up the underground com systems and leaving a few gaping holes in the ground here and there.

[i]Flight stood there, listening to the com, barely able to pick out the faint pinpricks in the distance that were supposed to be teachers. Flight was a little short too... So the 7foot lug in front of him didn't really help either.
Listening to the exchange he half-wished he'd opted for Engineering class... Cage seemed like a funny guy. But electronics confused him at the best of times.
And then as the com blew up out of the ground, several sudents screamed - even the boys - in surprise. Flight jumped back with a squeal as it ran right under his foot, showering upturned earth up his ankle. Someone shoved him hard as he stood on their foot, complaining at him.
He straightened himself and cast his blue-eyed gaze around cautiously, trying to perhaps find someone who looked like they were going to friendly this term, and ignoring the person behind him who was still moaning.
This was going to be... unusual... if nothing else...[/i]

ooc: funny, funny, funny, but cool ^_^

IC: Kinga scrambled neatly up a wall and placed herself lightly on a ledge. The annocments were quite scary but funny as well, particualy when the coms blew up. She was finding it hard not to laught, but decided that it was not the best thing to start laughting a the head just at the begining of a semester.

She scanned the various students below, most of them where new, that was easy enought to tell. Creaters that were new always smelt afraid and unsure. Kinga instinctively smelt her hand, she smelt the same as them, oh well. The others emmitted a smell of subboness and know-it-alls, obviously the older students who had done a year or two and thought they knew everything.

She carefully looked under the ledge that she was lying on, a big hole was in it, exposing a large grassy area. Kinga smiled, that looked like a perfect place to be in. But she had to get to the lost pool dome thing if she wanted to make a good impression. She lifted herself up and quickly spotted a place where she could leap to with no real problems.

She gracefully jumped and landed on her feet, wobbleing only a little bit. Okay she competely lost her balance and fell on top of a kid who was whineing on about his foot. Murmering a sort of appolgy she pussed herself up and promtley lost her balance once again and fell onto another student. She had to work on that, but still if this lot didn't mind she could always move in her normal way, sorta hunched up but if she adjusted herself then she could scurry all over the place.

What fun was she going have, when she'd gotten the other student sorted first.

Mischief: Well I made it, and it only took two seconds.

[I](Looks at picture of his father and thinks to himself) I made it dad... And im gonna make it through the year...You would've been happy.[/I]

Proceeds to enter the school trips on shoe lace and crashes into a person named Flight......

((OOC - Just setting the mood, this isn't supposed to be the most serious of rp's so just relax and let it flow or something.))

In the Dragon Cuisine Cafe Junko was giving another burger to Vivian who was sitting at the counter. As the the miniature explosions tore up the ground many students screamed and scattered. Junko didn't even stop cooking and steadied a shaky pot with her tail before it fell off a counter. Vivian didn't even open her eyes and took another bite of her burger with a sigh. [COLOR=royalblue]"Some things never change, I swear Cage gets dumber every year."[/COLOR]

Junko flipped another burger and hummed a tune to herself. [COLOR=orange]"I noticed, I had to bite him to get him to stay away from my kitchen. He kept trying to put some of those robots of his in here to help me out. The last thing I need is a couple of killbots firing missiles at flies while i'm trying to cook"[/COLOR]

Vivian laughed aloud. [COLOR=royalblue]"Good job, Cage seems to balance out his IQ by dropping his common sense. Been looking around the campus too. Alot of these students don't seem to know what their getting themselves into. I think some of these new teachers don't even have a clue."[/COLOR]

Placing the finished burger on a plate she sat down next to Vivian and smiled. [COLOR=orange]"I remember when I came here two years ago. This place was definately weird but its not so bad once you get used to it. Hey that reminds me shouldn't we be going to the dome now? "[/COLOR]

Vivian swallowed the rest of her burger and stretched out a bit. [COLOR=royalblue]"Nah, we still got almost four hours, theres no rush. I'm going to take another sweep around the campus. Maybe i'll have some fun scaring some of the new kids too while i'm at it."[/COLOR]

The two laughed and Vivian ran out the door jumping into the air and taking flight. Junko watched her leave then went back to the kitchen and started cooking up some breakfast. With all the new students arriving she was sure there were going to be alot of orders soon.

[i]Valen walked onto the campus during the announcements while holding a bag of his equipment for his classes he was here to teach.[/i]

Valen: Well, here I am... time to go set up class...

[i]He started for his classroom, but then remembered he was supposed to meet at the pool. He went off to the pool just as the announcements were finished.[/i]

[i]Karina had been standing next to one of the com outlets just as they exploded, shocking her and sending her to the ground. She quickly got up and dusted herself off, grumbling about how someone was going to get it later.[/i]

Karina: I hope that isn't a daily thing...

[i]The last knowlegeable annoucement she had caught was something about having to go and meet at the pool. She suspected that she was to go and meet there. She sighed and started heading towards her set destination, on the way passing by some students that already seemed to be getting in trouble, she rolled her eyes and continued on. She was sure that they had enough sense to sort it out themselves, and if not... well there's a few less students for her class then. Well she had time to kill so she decided to take her time and get a feel for the school, being hired to teach on such short notice.[/i]

Karina: Ok... so the Nex-thing is over there... and the medical wing is that way... so that means I should go down that corridor and then go outside and I should be nearing the Lost Pool... Great! I'm getting the hang of this already!

[Braidless Baka]

[i]Flight wasn't xactly expecting to be squished by a blue cat-thing, and hit the floor with a second squeal in as many minutes. He looked up, his eyes wide in a comic type of surprise. But before he could even stand up, she had gone. He stood up and milled through the crowds, in an attempt to lose the guy whose foot he'd stood on. He'd be mad now since the cat-thing had landed on him too.
The pool, that was where he was supposed to be. In awe he looked up above himself as he walked through the campus - following everyone else who was trying to find it, or evidently knew where it was. The buildings were huge, they seemed to scrape the sky. Nothing like what he was used to. He was still craning his neck in awe and wonderment, before being bowled over AGAIN, by a youth with red-hair. Flight pushed himself up on his elbows with an expaserated sigh.[/i]

[b]Flight:[/b] What is it with people today? *good nauturedly* Don't you people want me here? *get slowly to his feet, brushing imaginary dust off his knees, while watching the red-haired youth, who seems a little surprised behind his sunglasses* *grumbles - still good natueredly* I've been on my butt twice in five minutes... This is not boding well... *hesitates* M'name's Flight... *pauses before adding his surname* Chessco...

Kinga had done some more exploring of the surrounding area and had found the now still and imobile battle ground. She was curious to exactly what this was and felt that she should explore this a little more.

She had hunched herself up and was walking on her hands and knee's, well if she was human she would have been. her hands were slightly clenched to resemble paws and her legs had adapted for this sort of animal walk. Her hat had fallen off and exposed her ears, which were pointed and an odd pinky colour.

She walked foreward and gently sniffed at a metal disk that was intended for target practise. It didn't move or respond. she thought for a few seconds and then gently brushed her head against it, and it promtoly fell over. Kinga looked even more confused and flipped it back up to it's standing posisiton.

Okay, it didn't like sniffing or touching so maybe it need aggression to get it going. She grabbed it in her mouth and started to wrestle with it, very like a dog does with a toy and it shakes its head, and then released it and got into a playful attack posistion. It lay there, unmoving.

Kinga looked at it with a hell of a lot of confusion. This creature just didn't respond to anything. Maybe it needed to wake up. She did a very strange little tap onto the disk and it bent in half in a second. "Oopse" she said to herself and glanced around. Nobody in sight or smell.

Gently she placed one of her paws/hands onto the flater side of the disk and pushed the other side down. It bounced back immeadtly. She did it again and again and the same result occured. Still checking that no one else was around, she flipped it onto it's other side and squashed it flat. She replaced it and fail to notice the large and rather ominous crack down the middle of the disk.

She looked around and decieded that she would go and explore somewhere else. She checked the metal creature once more and headed off in the direction of the Nexus.

Bozel paced across the campus eyeing the damaged ground with an annoyed look. Students easily parted out of his way and none had the guts to try and talk to him. Cage followed him typing away on his little wordpad. He moved a bit quicker and walked up next to him.

[COLOR=seagreen]"Well the damage isn't so bad, my mechs will fix this in no time. So moving on to a more important subject, what nightmarish world of death are we sending the new recruits to for Orientation this year?"[/COLOR]

Bozel stopped pushing a clump of dirt back into the hole with his foot. [COLOR=indigo]"I was wondering that myself. We're getting a large influx of magick users this year. So I have a nice little place in mind. I doubt any of them have really pushed their abilities but soon their going to get a real chance to flex their magical muscle so to speak."[/COLOR]

Cage smiled rubbing his chin. [COLOR=seagreen]"Ohhhhh, your sending them to Mandorga. Thats pretty viscious for Orientation though isn't it? I doubt even a quarter of these people have ever been in a real life and death situation before."[/COLOR]

[COLOR=indigo]"Perhaps, but we'll never know until we push them now will we. Besides I don't like the way the Lost Pool has been acting lately. Something is up and I need these recruits at a somewhat more skilled level as quickly as possible. And if I have to put them through a crash course to get them there then so be it."[/COLOR]

The two continued walking along and examining the damaged grounds while chatting amongst themselves.

[Deedlit]

[color=009966][i]Elsyan made her way towards the Lost Pool. It was her first year at Torneko High, and she was already getting lost. She kept wandering through coridors and opening doors, but she couldn't find the way to the Pool. She spoke to herself in Elvish.[/i]

Elsyan: "This is just great....My first day here, and I'm already lost!"

[i]Elsyan was passing down a hall when her green eyes caught the glimmer of sunlight on water outside of a window. There was the Lost Pool! Now only if she could get to it. Elsyan turned around on her heel and ran down the hall. Already teachers and students were gathering out there. Finally--after opening several doors--she found the exit. She left the coridor and ran out onto the sunshine when she ran headlong into someone with brown hair and strange golden eyes. Picking herself up hastily and moving her long red hair out of her face so that she could see again, Elsyan began to appologize in the best form of English she knew even though her Elvish accent was very thick.[/i]

Elsyan: "I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there! You see, I was trying to get to the Pool--I'm really sorry!"

???: "It's alright. I'm Karina Winter, the Lost Magick teacher. What's your name?"

Elsyan: "I'm Elsyan Airserke. Um...Can you please tell me where the Lost Pool is?"

Karina: "It's in that direction."

Elsyan: "Thank you. It was nice meeting you."

[i]Now that Elsyan knew where the Pool was, she headed in the direction, only going alot slower this time. Soon she could see the Lost Pool up ahead and hurried over to it.[/i][/color]

[color=deeppink][size=2]Ava sighed, shaking her head. "Hmm, what a waste on such a good explosion." she chuckled to herself, picking up her laptop. She looked around, [i]Now where did he say we were supposed to go?[/i] she thought, staring at the other students.

[i]Didn't they say something about a pool?[/i] Ava nodded to herself, catching some students staring at her weirdly. She frowned slightly, raising up her balled fist for emphasis at them. Sighing to herself, she continued walking, following a boy in front of her.[/color][/size]

[i]Karina dusted herself off and stared after Elsyan. Unless her eyes were playing tricks on her, (which almost never happened) she could have sworn that the girl that had run into her was an Elf! But, that was most likely to be expected at this school, Karina suspected. She shook her head slightly and sighed.[/i]

Karina: I seem to be finding myself on the ground more often then what I would prefer. I hope the rest of this school year isn't so...

[i]She looked around and suddenly realized what time it was, she had to get to the pool for Orientation was going to begin very soon! She turned a complete 180 degrees and hurried along the path that she had watched Elsyan take. She soon heard the excited and nervous voices of the students, though she could not see them yet. She rounded a corner and stopped to gaze at the large group of people that stood waiting in front of the pool, which was now in sight.[/i]

[i]Fli watched Mike run off with a somewhat bemused expression. What was with everyone? Did he smell bad or something? Sighing, he shook his head, supposing it couldn't be helped. "Besides," he thought, looking around, "Aren't I supposed to be going somewhere?"
He glanced about himself, looking perhaps for someone he had already seen or could identify. No cat-thing... No red-haired guy... He was sunk... A strange girl with a computer over there... Red-head talking with teacher over there... Nothing of any use to him... So, he set off, following the general trail of people, hoping at least some of them knew where they were going.[/i]

[Psycho]

Ace got off his hover bike and ran towards the school with his bags flailing in his hands.

Ace: gonna be late..gonna be late..gonna be late!!!
Ace followed the general flow of people and noticed that he was not unique around here. He looked just as wierd as anyone else.
Ace: Guess I'm not a freak after all ;).
Big Guy: Did you call me a freak?
Ace: NO, SIR!! YOU SMELL LOVELY!! [SIZE=1]ooops[/SIZE]:nervous:.
Big guy: GGRRRRR!!!
Ace :D :bluesweat: *runs off*

Ace got to a pool of water that everybody, small and large (mostly large, compared to him),was circling around. He patted his gun holster nervously and gulped.

[Geist]

[I]Geist walked along, hiding his left arm in his right armpit.[/I]

[COLOR=blue][B]Geist:[/B] [I](Thinking) "I hope that if anyone notices, they don't say anything. But if they do...I'll fight back no matter how strong they are!"[/I][/COLOR]

[I]As he walked along to the pool, he noticed a lot of strange, but friendly, looking people.[/I]

[COLOR=blue][B]Geist:[/B] "Maybe this won't be so bad, so bad after all. The people here seem pretty nice."[/COLOR]

[I]Geist took his arm out of hiding and walked into the crowd of students waiting at the pool. He started to talk to some of them, they seemed pretty nice. Then, everyone grew silent as Headmaster Bozel started to speak...[/I]

[I]As Mischief got to the pool he noticed that almost everyone was there...(thinking) I finaly made it and in the nick of time too[/I]

Mischief:I wonder where that boy Flight is... I figured he'd be here by now... [I](Sighs)[/I] Oh yeah! I forgot I have super speed.:laugh:

[I](Ten Minutes Later) Well I guess I should stretch before I do anything.... (Starts to stretch) [/I]

Mischief:AAAAAHHHHHHH My Neck!!!!!... Son Of A Female Dog!... Ouch!

[I]Everyone Looks at Mischief in an odd way as if they never saw someone pull a muscle.[/I]

Never expected it to start so quickly...

???- Oh man! I'm late!

With those words, new teacher Charlie Fortune rushed into Torneko. Since he had studied here until last year, he already where he had to go. Once he arrived in the Lost Pool, he hurried to a spot that said: "Teachers". On his way there, he accidentally ran over a small guy that wore glasses. Not wanting to make a possible alumn feel unwanted on the first day of school, he helped the poor guy up.

Charlie- Sorry, my bad!

Before the other person could even respond, Charlie hurried to the Teachers' spot. Once there, he noticed that the spot was still empty, and that some of his younger friends (now Seniors) were waving to him. Since there was nothing better to do, he went to talk to them.

((OOC - No problem I purposely dragged things out waiting for everyone and it looks like everyones here so lets do Orientation.))


Bozel walked into the area around the Pool with his usual stride. This was only one of the maybe 2-3 days a semester when the security dome around the pool was actually down. Students and teachers parted letting him pass and all eyes were on him. The area was somewhat crowded, though only new recruits were required to attend orientation the non-freshmen always came by to take a look around. A small metallic platform rose out of the ground in front of the pool and Bozel stepped up on it bringing a silence among everyone.

His eyes blazed for a moment a spell parted his lips and when he spoke his voice boomed all over campus. [COLOR=indigo]"I've already said my welcomes and for those of you who don't know I am the headmaster Bozel. Now I won't play around. Behind me is the reson for this schools existense. A pool who has the power to send people to places you never knew existed. Its limitations seem non-existant and though i'm sure some of you new people may not believe, you will soon enough. For in the next hour you will step into this pool and go to a whole new world."[/COLOR]

Some of the new faces in the crowd looked at eachother dubiously and others smiled having heard this speech before. Bozel quieted everyone with a single look. [COLOR=indigo]"Adventure is everything to our lives and you will soon learn why. I will be sending all new students and faculty on this trip. I will attend in a sort of way but it mostly be left up to all of you to take care of yourselves."[/COLOR]

He raised his hand and an image projected above him. It was an image of a gigantic beast that lightly resembled a bird. It had a spiked tail and and drill like beak. It must have stood over fifteen feet and its full wingspan was atleast triple that. Its whole body was covered in dark purple feathers. The image was life size and it towered over the crowd causing more than one gasp.

[COLOR=indigo]"This is your objective so I hope you commit this image to your mind. We have discovered but two of these creatures in all of our travels. They are incredibly strong and very violent. To pass Orientation the whole group must work together to claim a single feather from its body. "[/COLOR]

Bozel got an angry look on his face and he spoke his next words in such a dark voice that even some returning students shook. [COLOR=indigo]"I warn you only once, this beast is very rare and if any undue harm comes to it no matter the circumstances you will ALL fail Orientation and I will personally see to your punishment."[/COLOR]

He lowered his hand and the image vanished. [COLOR=indigo]"The land I am sending you to is called Mandorga and it is strife with peril. I tell you now to be on your guard at all times. And I tell the new teachers going on this trip that they are responsible for the lives of every single student with them. If any do not come back you had better not either." [/COLOR]

[COLOR=indigo]"Now I ask all old students to leave. I want only the new recruits here."[/COLOR] Many students left with waves and shouts of good luck. Until finally there were but 10 people left.

The fire in his eyes vanished and now he spoke is a soft voice for only the ones before him. [COLOR=indigo]"Life here at Torneko is dangerous and far too often short. I wish you all luck in your future endeavers. If any of you do not feel up to the task at hand, now is the time to leave. Walk off this campus and never return. If you believe you can handle this, then come forward."[/COLOR]

He pulled something out of his robes and held and uttered a quick spell. Eleven small green stones floated from his hand and formed a circle in the air. [COLOR=indigo]"Those who wish to stay step forward and take a stone. The circle will move when you get close and present you a stone that is perfect for you. Then move over and stand by the pool. If you have any questions or doubts ask now. For once you have received a stone, you are forever one of us and there is no leaving."[/COLOR]

[i]Solemnly, Fli listened to Bozel's words. He'd thought this place was just a school... You learn, you have a nine-til-five day... Etc etc etc... Obviously life wasn't going to be like that. Not that he really minded, he was up for the whole adventures side.
Curious, he looked about. Everyone was glancing at each other, students moreso than teachers, but everyone was a little unsure. Quietly, Fli counted the stones. And again. And again. What now? Wasn't someone supposed to be doing something?
Then, with trembling steps, Fli stepped forward, reaching up to take a glowing green stone in his hand, pulling it from the circle hovering in the air.
"What now...?" he thought desperately, willing someone to join him. "What now...?"[/i]

[Geist]

[COLOR=blue][B]Geist:[/B] [I]"That was unusual, to say the least. I should have expected something like that after seeing that elf here though. I guess there's not much to do...but pick up a stone."[/COLOR]

Geist walked up to the circle. It moved and pushed a stone up to him. he tried to grab a stone to his right but it floated away from him and the other stone took its place.[/I]

[COLOR=blue][B]Geist:[/B] "You're pretty stubborn, aren't you? I guess you're the one I'm supposed to choose."[/COLOR]

[I]He picked up the stone, stepped back a little bit, and looked at the blond student by his side. He then looked back at the other students, wondering which one, if any, we're going to grab the next stone.[/I]

[Walnut]

Kinga, had been one of the first to reach the Lost Pool and had become consiuosly aware for her animal appearhance. She had beomce more human like again and replaced the far to big hat again. Fli and Geist stepped foreward to claim a green stone, and she decied that she wanted one as well.

Taking a deep breath she stepped foreward and watched the now slightly smaller circle come almost towards her. It spun around slowly and stopped at the smallest one. It moved a little closer to her than the others and she extened her hand to take it.

Suprisingly the stone was very light and was a very pretty colour. She almost instinctively turned it over in her hand and checked its smoothness. She liked this stone. She joined Fli and Geist and smiled.

Kinga: (Whispeared) Hello, I'm Kinga. Who are yous?

ooc: just a note which I forgot in recuritment, Kinga can only really speak properly when she's in her human form, when she decides to be an animal she talks a little funny, e.g we-sa gone on neture (translated We went/gone on a adventure). When she speak's like that I'll translate as best as I can (cause sometimes I can't even understand her ^_^ lol)

[color=009966][i]Elsyan stared at the stones uncertainly and watched as each stone chose its partner. Before Elsyan knew what was happening, she was walking towards one of the stones, as if her legs were moving on their own. When she came near, the circle started turning until it stopped on a round gem in front of her. She reached out her hand and grasped it. Elsyan noted that the jewel had a warm glow, like an inner flame burning inside it. She walked to stand beside the others who had also decided to take part in this. She smiled at them then looked back to the others, wondering who else would join them.[/i][/color]

[Psycho]

Ace gulped, wanting to be the last to get the stone. He took a step back, so as to run, but remembered his family at home and remembered that they needed him. He looked up at the sky, bit his lip and murmured something that sounded like a prayer. He walked forward and the circle started spinning. He waited for it to stop... He was waiting for a while. The circle started wobbling. Finally, after 5 minutes, it stopped and Ace took a blue stone. The stone shivered in his hand. Ace went back to the others with his head down. He walked up to an innocent loking kid (Flight ;)).
Ace: Hi! Wanna be friends?
