Another fist struck Craig in the chest, then two more in the throat and face... then what seemed like five consessive kicks to the spine. If his spine was not enhanced to be very flexible, he was sure that it would have snapped by now. This is what Craig hated about sparring with Seifer, the guy was just too damned fast.

The spar in the danger room, featuring the school's only two current students had been going on for only a minute or so, but already Seifer must have landed several hundred punches in, compared to Craig's grand three. Seifer's punches weren't that strong, but he was hurling so many that any lesser person would be screaming in agony right now. Craig had to do something to end this flurry, or Seifer would never let him forget it.

The danger room had the amaxing ability to alter it's own size and shape, and also to create objects to suit the environment it had created. It was a very simple design this time, the inside of a warehouse. Craig had already found himself having to use the bulkheads and rafters to get away from Seifer. Seifer may have had the speed advantage, but Craig was more agile and acrobatic.

Craig could only see whisps of air as Seifer passed, but Craig knew that his reach was bigger than Seifer's, and that he also had a 3.5 foot prehensile tail to help him out. He swun out forward with a punch, while at the same time swinging his tail low behind him at full extension. His tail hit something, and in a whiping momentum, wrapped around what it had struck. Surely enough, he had caught hold onto Seifer's leg.

Without a second thought, Craig whipped his tail in an upwards ark, tripping the adequatly named "Quicksilver". As he predicted, Seifer needed only a moment to gather his breath, so he wasted no time. He shot an open palmed strike down to Seifer's person, and struck him straight in the chest. Seifer gasped in a moan, his breath being utterly driven out of him.

Suddenly, however, Seifer was away in another whisp of air. Craig knew he had only moments before Seifer struck him again, and so suddenly, with a "BAMF!" Craig disappeared in a cloud of ash and brimstone, just as Seifer threw a lightning fast punch at where he was only milliseconds before.

Craig appeared again on the ceiling, directly above the place he had teleported from. He could see Seifer scannning the room, his face moving so quickly it was a blur to even Craig's perfect vision. With another "BAMF!" Craig teleported onto Seifer back, wrapping both arms and legs around him.

Seifer: Hey... what's the deal?

Craig closed his eyes and scrunched up his face as lightning fast elbow strikes started pummeling him in the jaw. Craig, knowing he was starting to lose his grip, began to teleport about the room wildly. Craig was able to teleport easily, but if he took a passenger, they always found it an incredible strain, two, maybe three repeating teleports was enough to knock out the strongest of humans.

However, Craig had teleported atleast seven times while clinging to Seifer before he stopped, and released from his opponent with a quick backflip, arking to land in his trademark hunched position. Seifer was left staggering, exhaustion overwhelming him. He turned slowly, and he saw a blue blur infront of him... it had to be Craig. With one last effort, he charged forward and rammed Craig in the stomach, before collapsing to the floor.

Craig was knocked into an uncontrolled corkscrew by Seifer's attack. He hit the ground, hard, and was in turn knocked out himself. As per usual... the fight ended in a draw. The danger room morphed back to it's default shape, a simple round, grey room. A calm, comforting voice came on over the comm. speaker.

Xavier: Well done boys, good use of adaptation, both offensively and defensively. Get yourselves down to the medical wing, if you can manage it.

Craig groggily opened his eyes, and turned to see Seifer lying next to him. With an effort, Craig reached over to touch Seifer's arm, so he could expel the last of his energy getting them to the medical wing. However, as he was about to touch Seifer, he quickly rolled over, out of Craig's reach, and opened his eyes, facing his blue haired friend.

Seifer: No you don't buddy... you ain't taking me through that again...

Craig smiled, while coughing sleepily. He closed his eyes, and with a BAMF! He was gone.

~An hour later~

Craig and Seifer walked out of the medical wing, fully healed and refreshed. The medical wing had three medical droids, programmed to analyse mutant signatures and treat them accordingly. Seifer was stretching his shoulders, and Craig walked along next to him on all fours.

Craig: Y'know, you shouldn't move so fast... I'm sure I strain my eyes trying to follow you. I'll go blind before long.

Seifer: Heh, that's not my problem. And anyway, you nearly killed me today, you know how much your teleporting takes out of other people.

Craig: Well, maybe we should both try and tone in down a bit.

Both boys smiled, they knew that wasn't going to happpen any time soon. For the past three months it has just been those two and the Professor, it was the first place where Craig truely felt welcomed. Craig and Seifer had grown in many ways over the past months. Both had developed their fighting skills ten fold, they were more alert, and more concious of what was going on around them. They had also grown as people. Craig had learned that good people, people like Seifer and the Professor, were good people, people he trusted as friends. Indeed, he and Seifer spent most of their time together, playing on computer games, training, eating, playing basketball, or just hanging out. They were starting to get to know each other very well.

Seifer: Damn, I'm hungry, You wanna go get something to eat?

Craig: Sure.

The two made their way downstairs, heading for the cafeteria.

The two of them walked into the cafeteria. It was a big room with eight tables with six chairs to each table. Bot of them found this very odd because there was only three people in the whole mansion and a few doids, who didnt need to eat. Thye both walked over to the counter and discussing their spar. The food droids were waiting to take the boys orders. Siefer ordered a 15' cheese pizza. It didnt take to long for the droids to prepare it. Seifer grabbed the plate that the pizza rested firmly on and walked over to one of the tables and sat down waiting for Craig to come with his food. By the time Craig had come Seifer had finished up half of his pizza and it wasnt long before he finished the rest of it.

Seifer: You want me to get you something while i am up?

Craig looked at Seifer as if he was stupid. Craig had just started his food; he barely had a few bites. Seifer smerked as he turned and walked back up to the counter. He didnt see any point in wasting energy when he didnt have to, even though he user over three times as much energy from his food than other people. Craig looked over to Seifer ordering his food. He couldnt belive his eating habit and how he still seemed to be quite skinny. He shrugged it off and went back to eating his food.

This time Seifer came back with two cheese Burgers a Hotdog and a tray of chips. He also had a medium sized hot fudge Sundae. Craig looked at Seifer bizzarely as he stuffed the foot long hotdog into his mouth.

Craig had to admit, those droids sure could cook. Perhaps the fact that they couldn't taste allowed them to create such good food, much like Bethoven was a great composer because he was deaf. Craig shrugged off the theory and stuffed another large piece of ham into his mouth. It was always the same, Seifer would eat about four times as much as Craig, in the same time space. It took Craig a few weeks to get use to this, he wasn't use to anyone being faster than him. After all, his ability to run on his hands and feet meant he could run twice as fast as any normal human, but Seifer had been clocked at 180 mph. But then again, Seifer had to get used to hanging out with a boy who looked nothing short of demonic, so Craig couldn't exactly complain.

Craig's mind wandered back to those long months on the run... constantly being chased by a lynch mob. They didn't know Craig, but simply because of his appearence he was hunted, and was almost killed numerous times. He was certain that they would have gotten him in the end, there were just too many... and they were a secret organisation, so he could never tell when someone would go for him.

So, in a big way the Professor had saved his life, and he was very grateful. Now, in just three months, he had learned 2 new fighting styles, added to the 2 he already knew. He had become proficient in many types of weaponry, and learned how to use his powers to sneak about. One thing he had only learned to do once in the mansion, was that his body can blend in with shadows, which Craig was very fond of, like someone when they first learn to drive. Often he would try to use this skill to jump out on Seifer and the Professor, though the Proffesor would always sense him there, and doing it to Seifer usually resulted in a punch to the face.

Craig realised suddenly that he had finished his food, and Seifer had just come back with another plate. Craig whistled and signalled to the canteen droid for a coke. The droid wheeled back to the fridge, and grabbed a coke. Then, with great accuracy, he threw the can across the room at Craig, who caught it with his tail. He opened the can and took a long drink, and then behind him he heard the slightest whirl of wind in the air. He held up his hand, and caught another can without looking at it. He passed the can to Seifer, who had obviously also signalled for one.

Seifer: Damn, how did you know that was coming?

Craig said nothing, but instead made both karge, pointy ears twitch twice, signalling to Seifer that he had heard it. Craig's gift of spacial awareness; the ability to sense things around him, had allowed him to catch the can. It was also this spatial awareness that stopped him from teleporting into solid objects, a feat that would surely cripple or kill Craig.

There was another swift swish, and this time, Craig whirled around and caught a long bone bladed knife in his three fingered hand. He looked around for the perpetrator, and found himself staring into a pair of intense silver eyes. He gazed into them, before he found that the knife had already been plucked from his grasp.

Sil: So you are as good as they say.

Craig: Huh? Oh....yeah.

Sil: I'm Sallalia Moon Chaser, but you can call me Sil.

She extended one gloved hand, and he shook it, one eyebrow raised. Somebody who looked like her...wearing gloves, covering her entire body with leather. The older of the two smiled then quietly flew out of the room, leaving behind a scent of roses.

Once outside the cafeteria, she flew right past Siren....who glared at her.

Siren: Already making your mark?

Sil: What? Harmless flirtation on my part.

Siren: Harmless....peh.

Seifer: ... Women.

Craig: I hope all of them aren't planning on attacking me when they arrive... I have to sleep sometime.

Seifer chuckled, they had planned to take the arrival of the new students quite lightly. Infact, they had planned to stay out of the Professor's way whilst he settled them in. They had both agreed, however, to give a sparring demonstration in the Danger Room. Craig was actually slightly anxious about that, as they both had to make a good impression.

Craig: What time is it?

Seifer glanced at his wrist watch.

Seifer: 1:30... why?

Craig: I'm getting bored just sitting here.

Seifer: What do you say we give those new combat droids a whirl?

Craig: We did that yesterday... we had a royal áss kicking.

Seifer:: All the more reason to try again. The Danger Room is still currently cut off from the new arrivals, so we don't have to worry about making fools of ourselves.

Craig: Okay then... Want me to 'port us down?

Seifer looked inquisitively at Craig for a moment, but then his expression eased, and he shrugged.

Seifer: As long as it's just the one 'port this time.

Craig reached over the table and grabbed his friends arm, and with the BAMF! They went, just as a group of new arrivals entered the cafeteria, hoping to see the two original students, but instead being greeted by two empty plates and the smell of brimstone...

The two boys appeared on the floor of the danger room, but then Craig ported once more into the room's control centre above the dome shaped room itself. He tapped in the security code, and typed in the activation code for two combat droids. These droids are able to run at 60mph, lift over 1000lbs, and are fluent in 9 forms of advanced hand-to-hand combat. If that wasn't enough, they could also expel radiation from their hands which knocked out a mutants' abilities for a short while.

Craig then ported back into the Danger Room itself, and waited next to his friend as two droids marched quietly from a hatchway in the wall.

Sil quietly went up to her dorm and sat down on the bed. Picking up her Physiology textbook, she flipped to the fifth chapter and continued with her studying. With one hand, she reached around for her notebook and pencil, then scribbled down more notes....

The knock on the door shocked her out of study mode, and she stood to open it.

Siren: Don't you have a life?

Sil: ......no.

Siren: Wanna go play some pool?

The older of the two women stood and brushed her hair out with her fingers, then grinned. On cue, the two females slid down the stairs and headed to the lower levels.

When Siren and Sil entered the activity room they would see a girl standing there.... They could tell she were from a latin background, most likely mexican. She was sitting there with a hand held video game and obviously having a hard time with it because every second she stayed on it she got more and more frustrated. Finally she just threw the game into the air and slashed at it with her claws, the game falling to the ground in french fry style pieces. The two girls look at the "bionic woman" and shrug and begin playing their pool game. Frustrated, Selene picked up her math book and started studying.

After her third loss in a row, Sil snapped the cue stick like a toothpick and dropped it to the ground. Siren grinned helplessly and shrugged. Full of a burning resentment against that hapless smile, Sil rose into the air and glided over to where Selene was staring at a textbook.

Sil: Having trouble?

Selene: ....not really.

Sil: Your grinding teeth are very reasuring. Do you need any help? I did well in Calculus.

Siren: AWw, give the girl a break Sil. You're just an overacheiving freak.

The oldest of the three women stuck her tongue out at Siren and made a horrible face.

Yuri rolled over in his bed half asleep and looked at the clock. Noting the time but not caring he gathered the covers over him and decided to just keep right on sleeping. Not like anything was going on today anyway and if Xavier wanted him up let him buzz him awake with his bald little mind.

He chuckled lightly while he closed his eyes and dozed back off.

Siren: Careful... If your not careful, your face will stick like that...

She reached out and seized Sil's tounge and gave it a sharp tug...

Siren: I'm gonna go streatch my wings...

She waved and turned away... Sprinting from the room, Siren burst outside... She dashed into the trees and removed her shirt... The last time she had to rush it she wrecked it... She untied the linen bandangages and her ebony wings streatched to the sky...

Tua walked slowly towards the institue. He felt his mouth fall open as he gazed at it, the sheer SIZE of it. He had spent all his life on the streets, dirty, grimy. Even though he was, and always will be, at heart, a Rat City dweller, the prospect of living here was mind boggling.
Yeah, like you're going to live here.
"Shut up." he said quietly, he was too used to talking to himself to stop.
The won't accpt you, look at you, you're a freak.
"Freak..."
They'll just hate you.
"You're probably right..." he said slowly, his mind wandering back to the 'incident' two days ago.

***

He shuffled down the alley, he had twisted his ankle when he woke up this morning, and had lost the chance of getting some nice leftovers from the resteraunt near here. He grimaced behind the purple scarf he always wore, and carried on down the street. He heard laughing behind him, and turned, seeing a large human with two friends and a bottle of scotch.
Damn humans, no self control. It's 3 o'clock, the morons.
"Hey, you! What's the matter with you." one of the human jeered, imatating his twisted walk and putting his sleeve in front of his face like Tua's scarf. Tua turned and tried to leave but the man caught up with him, catching him by the shoulder. The man stunk of liqour and sweat. He chuckled as he saw the grey skin and black eyes.
"Oh, I see, youse one of them mutants, eh? Well, let me tell you something, you ain't welcome here."
"I already know that..." Tua said quietly
"What you say about me?"
"I didn't say anything about you."
"Course you did!" he said, pulling back his fist, still with the bottle of scotch.
Tua's mind lurched this way and that, and the human's two companions, following the man like drunken sheep, pulled out knives. Tua calmed down slightly, thinking of what Tony, a large, bear-like mutant that lived alone, would do. As he thoguht the human pushed him back and layed him across the face with his fist. Tua stubled back and his scarf fell off. His mind focused onTony, and he fellt his bones crack, pulling longer. His face became more feral, twisted into a muzzle like a bear, and his muscles bulged, the skin stretching like a balloon. The human's fell back, gasping as he grew to tower over them. Their drunken minds reacted the only way they could, and they ran. Tua collasped on the floor, curling into a little ball as he changed back, the bones clicking back into place.
The last thing he saw was a reflection of himself in a pool of water, his face half-bear, before blackness took over. As he woke a man in a floating wheel chair, flanked by a woman he couldn;t see properly, came up to him.
"Easy there, child. We're here to help."

*****

Tua braced himself as he looked at the door. even that ws big. He reached out and pressed the doorbell of the Xavier Institute for Gifted Children. The door clicked and swung open...

Just looking on at the others in the room, Alex just smiled and returned her eyes to her book. Since coming to the institute Alex seemed to just look on while the others had their fun, but knew sooner or later she'd have to come out of her hole. She stood up and headed towards Selene ans Sil.

Alex: Hey girls!

Sil and Selene looked as she made her way over.Approaching cautously she asked...

Alex: Do you think I could study with you? I'd like to hear what you'd be able to show her for Calculus, maybe it'll help me out a lot.

Sil who was now sitting next to Selene gave her and uneasy look but returned her eyes back to Selene's book.

Selene: I see no problem with it.

Alex proceeded to sit on the floor in front of the girls, but for moments there were no words exchanged between either of the girls. Soon Alex decided to break the ice.

Alex:So are you and Siren not on good terms or is she just like that to everyone?

Selene: I actually like her, I think she kinda cool, but at times, she seems like she can be a bit harsh, but enough about her, I hear you're new?

Alex: Yeah just came from Egypt a few weeks ago..but I don't want talk about that now.

Sil: What's wrong? Got something to hide or just scared of our response?

Alex: Not that but, I just don't wanna go there, too much drama.

She then stood up and left Selene and Sil there to study.

Alex:*stuttering* Sorry guys, but I gotta go now, I just remebered something.

She turned away from the girls and left Sil and Selena with confused looks on their faces. As she headed out a tear fell from her eye as she began to remember all what happened. She bumped into Prof. X, but didn't stop, she headed upstairs to her room, where she locked herself in.

The two women watched her, and the place she was last seen....and Sil smiled to herself. Then she opened Selene's book again and flipped a few pages forwards and backwards.

Selene: You don't look surprised.

Sil: Everyone here has some kind of problem.

Selene: What about you?

Sil: ...I killed my mom when my powers first showed up, but I didn't get the one who forced me to do it. I will do it some day, and make that scum curse the day he set foot in my mother's house.

Selene: .......you aren't sad about it then.

Sil: No. I've let her go, and I'm not going to let her murderer go.

With leather covered fingers, she pushed back the thin strands of black hair in her face, and looked down again.

Immediately the droids split up, circling the two boys in opposite directions. Craig instinctively moved into a crouched position, his tail swaying lightly in the air... and Seifer was hunched double, like a sprinter before a race... wherever he has going, he would go like a speeding bullet.

The droid nearest Craig suddenly broke it's perimiterary guard and dashed straight at his fuzzy, blue opponent. Craig flicked his legs into the air, and pushed into a flip off his hands, flowing gracefully into the air, and planted a two footed kick straight into the droids chest. It stumbled back a few steps, but seemed almost unaffected otherwise.

Craig dropped from a backflip into a crouch, and, shifting his weight onto one foot, spun around, taking the droid's legs from under him. The droid landed on his neck, but flipped instantly back to his feet. Then the droid shot out a punch, it was like a lightning bolt. Striking Craig it the chest, it winded him instantly, and drove him back several paces.

Craig: Here we go again...

Abob unpacked his few possessions into his small room in the academy. He still wasn?t sure if he would stay. The professor seemed friendly and nice, but Abob didn?t think that he could be trusted. It seemed to him that everyone had an ulterior motive; in this case it was to have a force that could stop Xavier's archenemy Magneto from reeking havoc on the rest of the world. That scenario was fine with Abob; he could take care of himself.

He finished unpacking, and stowed his black backpack under his bed before leaving the room. The Professor had told him he should try and be social, make friends for once. To meet other students outside of a formal setting he would have to go to the cafeteria, where most of the students would most likely congregate. He was halfway there when he decided against it. It would be better to meet others and have a chance to assess them in a neutral setting before deciding whether or not to attempt friendship.

He took out a map of the complex the professor had given him, and looked over it at length. The "Danger Room" sounded like an interesting way to assess his skills in comparison to the others, but it was off limits to the new students.

In that case, he would go play pool. The room where the pool table was set up was on the second lowest level of the school, in a kind of game room. It wouldn?t take long to get there.

Abob traces his path to the room with his left index finger, then folds up the map and heads for the game room?

Seifer started running around the battle droid that was locked onto him. No matter how fast Seifer ran, the battle droids had sensors that could barely detect his movements. Seifer got a lucky break, he managed to catch the Droid off guard so he could hit him from behind. But it was useless. Seifers fist hit the Hard metal that was the droid; nearly breaking Seifers hand. Seifer let out a lout shriek as he ran for cover. He knew it was no use attacking the droid head on, he had to staregise his attack. but how?

Seifer looked around the corner. The droid was scanning the area for him. Seifer knew it was a matter of time before he would get noticed by the droid. he popped his head around teh corner again, but this time a red light shone right in his eyes. The droid had spotted him and he was heading over.

Seifer had to think fast. This was one trhing he was very good at. He led the Droid over to the wall. The droid's did not think much otehr than their fighting styles but this droid was pretty sure he had won. Seifer grinned, as he turned to face the wall. in a blink of an eye, Seifer ran up the wall and summer saulted onto the Droids head and started punching at it. After a few punch's dents started to appear before one of the panels on its heads came off revealing a few cicuits. Before Seifer could do some real damage to the droid; the droid grabed both of Seifer's feet and tossed him across the room. Seifer skidded across the floor before crash landing into the wall on the other side.

Seifer looked over at Craig who to appeared not to be doing so good. Seifer felt a slight pain on his side. he looked down; he was laying in a pool of blood.

Trying to block out the memories of her old life Alex paced around her room trying to relax and get a hold of reality. All she could see in her head was her father and nothing else. She knew he was gone from her life but she still felt him, as if he was now searching for her.
As her anxiety got worse, so did the weather. The wind was howling in her window, and all her study papers started to flutter all over the room. She soon headed to the window and climbed out. She rose to the roof and sat there disgusted with herself and her life. Hoping that something good would finally happen.
As she continued to sit there, she just began to cry. A gentle rain began to fall as she continued to cry but she knew she had to stop. She began to force her tears back but had to think of a way to control the rain as well. She soon left behind all the thoughts of her past and just concentrated on making it rain. Harder and harder the rain began to pour down on her. Soon being completely soaked she decided to let it ease up a bit. As a small drizzle contiued to pour over her. The water along with her painful memories just ran down her body and into the roof's gutter and down the storm drain, where she now hoped to leave all of her troubles behind. Before she let all of her troubles go one last thought ran through her head. No fear Alex. He no longer exists....
Bye Daddy!!!
As she went back to her room an uneasy sigh of relief left Alex's body, not only was her past gone, but now she could control the weather withou her emotions getting in the way.
