Tommy Vercetti
Hey everyone In England we have several different groups of people as in the types of clothes they wear and what type of music they are into. Our groups are called Rudies or Rude Boys which are like people who wear baseball caps and have tight tracksuit things and polo shirts etc. music- rap, hip hop, garage and stuff like that. Metlas or Grungers like wear skater clothes and baggy t-shirts, trousers shorts etc. Music is like heavy metal and rock etc. Goths- these people like to wear very dark makeup like black makeup and have white faces and wear dog collars etc. Music- im not really sure what they listen to maybe the same as metlas i think. I think that is a basic description of what the types of groups we have in England. I was wondering if in other countries you have groups and whether they have different names different styles of clothes and music sense. Also if i have made any mistakes or anything just correct me by saying what is wrong and that.
Dragon Warrior
Here where I live (USA), we have practically the same. We call Goths Goths, but never heard of rudies and rude boys nor grungers. We just call them regular people. Of course, there's the "cool" people and the insane weirdos. ^^
Tommy Vercetti
Oh right do you have any like people who go around in a fairly big group and like cause trouble or try to beat people up because thats kind of what rudies do in the Uk and we have also like normal people who are basically either in between or they just don't really want to be in any group. Listen to...*gasps* Punk. Skaters. Normally very accepting. Preps- 70 bucks a shirt clothes. Pop. Stuck up. Rude to everyone who doesn't have money. Thats how it is where I live. Guest Musahi
Where I live there are only three primary groups. Gangsters/Thugs: They are the people that act like they are from the hood and try to be all ghetto on purpose. They start huge wars with the other primary group. Skater/Punk/Goth: This is the category I fit into. I put them all in the same category since we all hang out together. I am friends with allot of the thugs too, they are pretty cool people. Losers: They sit in the corner and get ignored or made fun of. Thats about it for me.
Deedlit
Goth/Freaks: All black, wear their hair in spikes, outcasts. Rednecks: They're the ones that wear Dixie Outfiters, listen to nothing but country music, and have a picture of the Confederate Flag in their locker. :therock: Preps: Their the "In crowd," "popular kids," the "What's up homie G-Dawg" and Ghetto people. Most of them like cheerleading and listen to "hip" bands. They wear the "coolest" clothes, fashions, and styles, and if you don't, then they think you're mud. :therock: Jocks: They're the ones that play sports and such. They're usually really nice. Losers: The ones that get picked on. Blendies: They're people who are really nice and can get along with anyone no matter what clique they're in. That's pretty much it.
tursi
acoording to what i've read so far, the closest thing i'm to is a Blendy. at my school things are a little diffrent. we have they art majors, music majors, theater majors, dance majors, and communacation majors.... you can usually tell everyone apart by diffrent sayings that each major has, band is known for saying yo alot...~_~;;;. i'm a band major. but basicly i think everyone at my school (hopefully i'm not saying anything bad, because i think it's good) is a freak or geek. and i'm both..... um.. i think i'll stop now..... Shinobi
As most people know, I live in Scotland. Basically, we are the same as England.....really. Neds (Non-Educational-Deliquint) = Rude Boys (I have also heard people from England call them...Townies). They listen to trance/club/techno/dance music. They act all big, but are usually very wimpy, therefor they carry a knife and hang in big gangs. Moshers/Skaters/Goths - Whatever you wanna call them, they are practically all the same. You know the drill really. Gays (my own deffinition ^_^)/Smoothies - They were tight stuff and go for the Gareth Gates/Boy Band look. They are "always up with fashion" and are "Really Sexy" .....A HA! Mods - The deffinition of Mods has dramaticaly changed from the old 60's/50's Mods. They wore Parka Jackets and drove Scooters, Modified with mirrors and fur and so on. They USED to be vicious and have the bad boy Brit image, now they just chill out listen to music and play in bands, smoke some pot...lol j/k. I consider myself a Mod. Junkies/Jakes - They take drugs all day, drinkand are usually have bad hiegine. Geeks - Usually highly inteligent, into Final Fantasy and Star Trek and are usually picked on. Some of them are...bareable, but their voices irritate me ^_^. Wiggas - White people wanting to be black, wearing the clothes, the hair, and accent. Normals - Normal people :therock:
Tommy Vercetti
I hate like the gangs who think they are all that. Me and my friends get called `Greasy Mets` because aparently we are all greasy but when i last checked my hair wasn't greasy lol and i would've thought that if these people wore caps and that wouldnt they sweat if they got hot and then their hair would get greasy after a while if you get what i mean lol. KittyLynn
Gay People: The "cool people". My "group" calls this group this because they think we are losers just because we don't want to get in bed with everyone we see. Losers: We aren't losers, but just because me and all my friends ride horses. And others...read above..Make fun of us... Druggies: Now what do you think these people are??? Thats basically all of them...
Tommy Vercetti
Hey shinobi down in surrey towards the south of england we have rude boys who wear parkers and drive around on scooters so if you were a mod and came down here it would be totally weird as you would get called a different name but you are bascially the same type of people. muetank
i think i fall in the loosers catigory but i dont realy like the term looser, i like outsider better. i dont know why us outsiders get picked on so much. we just ignore most of the stuff the other groops say about us but when thay do piss us off thay think we'll come in to school the next day with ak's or some thing. its fun to see them tryin to act cool but i know what thay are thinking, thare thinking please dont kill me, please dont kill me. its kinda funny once u think about it. :D
egyptgirl
Around here we go by: Jerkazoids: Absolutely dispise Anime! *gasp!* Don't listen to any music. Swear WAY too much. Don't do anything but Football. Brats: Think they are All That. My sister is one of them. Mostly listen to anything. And naturally most of them are Cheerleaders and on the Drill Team. Normal People: A severe insult Normal is! *gasps at word* Only one kid fits the description here though. (THANK YOU!!!) Mostly Dopey and annoying. Wierd Anime People: The best of the best. I'm in that group! There are only six of us though. Forever in war with the Jerkazoids (GRRRRR!). The Geeks, The Dweebs, and the Undecided: All three usually are the youngest people. It depends on their personalty what they will be in the future. My friends and I have had three "wars" so far. All of them turned out real ugly
Tommy Vercetti
You have some pretty interesting names there egyptgirl i think the `Jerkazoid` one is the strangest i have heard so far but i think its pretty cool that everyone has different names for people and have different oppinions on what people are to be in that certain group. Queen Asuka
*Wonders exactly how many of those people actually attend high school...* Anywho, it's pretty much the same scene is high school, but everyone, as they mature, just seem to look past barriers such as clothing and activities and music and accept each other for who they are. At least that's what I do. Look at me: I dress prep, I listen to hard rock music, and I'm a dancer, people think I'm on drugs, and I hang out with a wide variety of people. I hate stereotypes.

Guest Chris
where i live, we have all those types( exept for mods) they just go by different names and are seperated into further groups. i fit into the soft-core-goth/nerd group. i'm a smart goth who is picked on a little, mostly because i don't say anything back or kick their a**, even though i could. i don't think it helps to beat people up. so my friends stand up for me. i really don't care.
Queen Asuka
You know, you always hear all this stuff about stereotypes, but doesn't anyone every categorize themselves? It's always: "We have this and this at our school, but I don't fit into any of those.." Well, do you think those people that you stereotype consider themselves thus? It's just a thought...
Tommy Vercetti
well i suppose where i live i would have kind of clothes like metla/skater people but in the sense of music i am sort of normal and listen to pretty much anything apart from like classical music, garage, country and opera lol. I am at like senior school which is like secondary school in England and i have noticed that people get so influenced by older people and how they dress because there are children that are like 11 and they wear clothes like the older children and smoke drugs and stuff its really crazy i personally think. Transtic Nerve
Our school had like... none of what half of you all talked about... We had: Hicks: Thre's this sity that is pridominantly hicks that feeds into my old High School. So naturally, you got everyone from there hangin' around with each other. Black/African American: Hey, the brotha's and the sista's like to hang around with each other, what more can I say? The White Kids: (lol) Then like everyone else kind of mingled in with each other. Hell everyone mingled in with everyone, except the hicks most of the time. No one really associated themselves with them all that much. You had the preppys. but they were always hangin around with the black guys or talkin to this person or that person. You had the "nerds." But then again, even they seperated themselves from each other. Yes, two groups of nerds... the really weird nerds, who associated themselves with the REALLY small Goth population and the semi-nerds who associated themselves with everyone else. Yeah I think my school is pretty diverse and accpeting. Or at least was. Dunno bout it now, haven't been in almost 2 years.
Tommy Vercetti
Thats a pretty different group to what everyone else has said i agree with you there. Have any of you like noticed different types of groups not just in school but in like every day life? in every day life the groups i said are basically the same except the rude boys have like groups called `Crews` and these crews have names for example the LBT which means the Liberty Takers. Jesus Chicken
Hmm well lets see. At the moment we have Footies; Tools. sadly the dominant group. Most drink, and dont pass much at all. Some are ok, more excepting easier to get along with. Well since I joined a band that "played" at school last term. But most of them I despise... Muso's; The select few of us who play guitar, or in my case drums. There are about Five of us in grade 11 (my year) there are a few people who started to learn guitar and drums this year, called try-hard muso's. But because there are only three Muso's in our grade, we leech in with a bunch of mis-fits who look up to us. Muso's would probably be the most accepcted group in grade 11 , dont aske me why. Normal people (relatively speaking..): The group I hang around with. these guys like heaps of crap. In our group we have two national archery champions. they don't get in fights with people, and would probably be the most average bunch of guys at our school which is good. Overly Large children: These guys are 15\16 and still love Pokemon, and battle their BayBlades. This group would cop the most crap because of the footies being the exact opposite. Poo guys, they aint that bad.
Heartless Me
I guess I"m lucky since I am out of high school but when I was in it, i was a NERD!!!! And proud of it! Now I've graduated to gaming nerd.... I'm so happy for me! :-p
