Tommy Vercetti
Akriel did you get bullied or picked on at school seeing as you were a nerd or were you just ignored and left out or something? I admit i have been a bully but not on my own i was with a group of mates but i mean at the time its like you just joke around at laugh at someone say they have a big head but then they get really annoyed and if u carry on they then start to get upset but i have kind of stopped laughing at people now which is good. Charles
It's funny how different groups seem to disappear in college. No one seems to care about dress anymore and I haven't seen anyone get picked on. In high school we had our different groups of people. Like most public schools, we had our jocks, gangstas, intellectuals, preps, etc. But, I never really fell into any class, so I couldn't be stereotyped at all. Tis a shame the people become restricted in groups with superficial agendas; it really limits them from getting to know other people they could otherwise be friends with. Tommy Vercetti
Like in England you don't see Rude Boys or other people of the same type of stereotype as them hanging around with metlas, grungers skaters etc. I would love to see the day when everyone just becomes ok with each other and nobody would get picked on and no violence but i doubt that would ever happen as there is always someone out there who would want to pick on someone or bully them. BigCajones
Well as for groups of my generation: The mets/skaters/grungers/moshers- Listens to music from rock 'n' roll to heavy metal, wear skater gear and baggy clothing. May skate around town, have chains, etc. Smart people with 'real' friends.(me) :D Punk/Goths- Usually crazy hair (spikes, moheecan-can't spell, or multi-coloured dreads), black painted finger nails, black eye shadow and dog collars. Anything except normal, they want to be different to everyone else maybe choose to be alone in this life. Listen to anything like punk to death metal. Rudies- They are into tight clothing ewww, all the big sports names they've got to have, fashions flows by very quickly (exspensive), usually in groups/gangs vandalising or causing havoc. If they hear someone has done something outrageous they will try to top one another. Usually dumb, ones that are more into R'n'B, hip-hop, and rap may want to be or act black (Thanks for that craze Ali G). Most Rudies I live near listen to garage and I class as yobs. Trendy/Losers/Townies- In my view townies are people into pop, so basically people who haven't got a life lol. Also people who are wanabes are quite sad, you need your own opinion in life that's why God gave you that life so you could decide, don't just tag along with mates not knowing a thing. I know a few people like this it's just plain embarrassing they're clueless. So people with no fashion sense or musical taste just followers. Sheep you could say. Losers just the unfortunate people that get 'terrorized' (rude boy saying). Shazzas/Alternative/Normals- People who that either don't have an opinion on music and don't want to be trendys or people that like a mixture of music (alternative). Could be a good idea if you don't want to be beaten up or get the **** taken out of you. I sometimes see shazzas wearing more grunger clothes or pikey market stuff. If you also can't afford all the good names (pikey) maybe that's why you're in this category. Well this one slash loser section. *laughs at them* I would have a druggy/junkies section, but nowadays anyone does drugs or drinks and becomes a vandal. I suppose mostly rudies though. Idiots if you ask me! In this day and age I don't see people in my generation wearing 60s, 70s clothes, but I wouldn't be suprised with some of the pikeys. I do see tramps who I do pity at the end of the day, but there not my age of course. :naughty:
liamc2
Types of groups, interesting. Well let us see then shall we? Rednecks: Well basically you have the good with the bad. They do have their good moments and can be worth a conversation. Nerd Herd: Ah, now this is the best group to be in. The smart, intelligent and witty people hang out here. Sometimes is forced to migrate due to weather and predatory actions of the Rednecks, but otherwise, hangs out in the same place. The A-CrowdersAh, here we go. This is where the monobrowed rugby types and the air heads come into play. But, there is an odd sprinkling of normal people in this massive group. This basically where all the people without a clique are thrown in. Peer Pressure or something. People I don't know where to put... Hm..well we sit on the front lawns, far, far away from the other groups. The Front lawns are basically where a jumble of grades sit during their lunch breaks. Usually Redneck free. But we do have our little plagues every now and again... Tommy Vercetti
Your groups sound pretty strange and cool Liamc2 i have never heard the name `A-Crowders` or `Nerd Herd` used before but im sure in England for The nerd herd we would just call them `Boffins`which is the same sort of thing where they are like smart and intelligent and in lessons just get on with work and don't mess about or anything. Hmmmm A-Crowders i wouldn't really know what i would call them erm probably just rugby players lol or if they were very sporty like the sporty people or something like that i think. liamc2
Yes we tend to be original here. Groups change depending on the school and even the age. For instance, I was talking to Mum about this, (Dad jokingly believes he should do his Psychology masters on the grouping of Teenagers and their sociological habits  ) Liam Letsee now, you have your A-crowders, the Nerd Herd, hmmm, oh yeah, and the skegs. Mum Skegs? That term is still around? When I was at highschool my friends and I were the skegs. Liam .... o.o; Whaaaat? You rode a skateboard? You can't even ride a bike! Mum No no no, we were skegs because we hung out on the beach. We were the beach bums. Liam Ah yes, that makes perfect sense...
Guest Imsirion
hmmm...... groups? My school has jocks, preps, nerds, geeks, losers, druggies, goths, skaters, hicks, metal heads, and so on. Though, I dont belive in "groups" really, anymore. Reason is, people classify diffrent people in these types, and the groups mix beyond understanding. If I could say there was a popular group, I'd better make two. Theres the jock/prep/nerd (by meaning of school A+ suck up "perfect" students)type of popular and the hick/druggie/skater/metal heads type of popular. Kinda hard to explain. Some people multi group by being a popular druggie/skater whos best friend is a popular jock/prep/nerd. Confused? Then theres popular/prep sluts, and the druggie sluts.... I perfer to classify myself as a videogame playing,anime/manga loving,Tolkien novel(s) reading addict geek. Side note: Every one in my school is white except 5 or so asians and 6 or so hispanics, me being both white and mexican.
Tommy Vercetti
Do any of you guys use old group names from like the 60's and that in whatever country are you from, in England we still use the word `Hippies` but they are usually found in the country i think now. There were also people called Mods in around the 60's or 70's but we dont really use that name anymore do any people use old names?
