Like a smooth shadow, Nepenthe slipped down behind Jedah and crossed her legs underneath her. She sat very still, and let the scent of roses and phermones release itself from her body. The demon started, then turned and looked at her. She smiled, and sent a full blown projection into his head.

Nepenthe: Say hello to my astral self......

He gazed into the projection's form.....full and dangerous. But he got the feeling that she was saying something deeper.

*Jedah's face calmly released a smirk, as his mind danced with excitement.

Jedah: "A fine queen of darkness you would make. However, I could have guessed this was your true form without your seductive aroma. Although it wouldn't be as pleasureful....."

Jedahs eyes suddenly burst with glowing crimson flames, as he stared at Nepenthe. In eye lock, they transferred images and patterns undescribable....their connection was made....for the time being.*

Her mind writhed and twisted under his gaze and she sent him an astral form of her humanoid self... The image blew him an imaginary kiss, before disapearing in a puff of silver smoke.

Jedah laughed quietly. Her meaning was too obvious, but he then noticed the other scent she was giving off. Humor, mixed with a twisted sort of pleasure.

"You're a temptress."

"Only to those whom I deem worth. Consider yourself special."

"You almost had me fooled with the human."

"I seek nothing for him but healing. You on the other hand.....are an interesting case. "

Aidian rolled over and faced the wall, his mind racing with questions. He wished someone else would wake up so he could distract himself from his mind.

He couldn't keep running away. Something wasn't right about what had happened. He played over the memories in his dream, exploring every last detail. No, something wasn't right at all. The mission that the warriors had set against Danormis would be hard, but once he'd served his purpose he could leave. He hoped it'd be soon. Nepenthe and Jedah playing in his mind were starting to wear him down. He didn't mind Nepenthe's presence so much. In fact, it was intoxicating. Much like Jedah, but in a much more welcoming and calming way than his dark designs.

He stood up and sat outside mouth of the cave to relax. The wind soothed his thoughts. As he sat down, he brushed some flecks of mud from his pale blue armour and watched the trees for signs of movement.

She rose to her feet and walked out, pushing the vines aside. Everything seemed to be painted in gold and silver. The light was still dim, but rapidly growing from behind clouds. With a soft movement, Nepenthe pointed her hands towards the rising sun and greeted it.

Nepenthe: Tornait Tornait,
Spirit of the Birds,
Fly into my body and give me the power of the sun.

Then the sun rose in full glory, bathing everything around it in a brilliant shade of gold. She smiled and walked back into the cave's darkness. The others were still sleeping, with Jedah and Aidian as the exceptions. She started the fire once more and heated up the wrapped meat.

Her eyes flicked over to where Michael was sitting, and she waited. Patiently....

*Jedah didn't particularly care for the sun. It didn't pain him, but the heat wasn't exactly heartwarming to him. He got up from his spot, and glided outside the cave, observing the coming day and what it would hold.

Jedah: "We need to find Danormris. This dilly-dallying is only crushing our chances of defeating him. I hope you all realize this is no ordinary beast we are against.....if the slightest shed of doubt or hesitation fills your mind when engaged with the beast, you may as well prepare your coffin now, and give your souls to me."

He turned and looked to Nepenthe, who was warming up the rest of the poor hapless animal they had slaughtered.

Jedah: "And you...sorceress. You may seem completely in control with your mental and sensual techniques, but I assure you Danormris will see through that facade."

Nepenthe's head reared up slightly, allowing Jedah to know he had caught her full attention. Jedah engaged the situation, and glided towards her, hsi voice changed to a more devilish and silent tone.

Jedah: "I wonder....where are your inner demons hiding? No one's spirit goes un-tainted through life."

The demonlord bent down, and whispered into the ear of Nepenthe...

Jedah: "Do not toy with me sorceress. I can awaken your nightmares with a snap of my fingers....I only hope your mental fortress is as good as your emotional one...."

The demon let out an eerie cackle, as he backed away, and leaned against the wall of the cave once again, to where he would ponder, his chin resting on his wrist.*

She smiled to herself. Her father was the Lord of Nightmares....any terrifying dream that wanted to visit itself in her mind would have to go through Habeas Requiem first. But Jedah didn't have to know that.

Nepenthe: I am not afraid of the Mazoku that is currently threatening this place. He won't be the one to kill me.

Jedah: Why's that?

Nepenthe: I'm saving the honor for somebody else....

He chuckled. A horrible rasping noise...halfway between a cough and a chortle.

Jedah: You think you can control that?

Nepenthe: For now....yes.

She continued with her work, then flicked her eyes in his direction and sent him the image of her......

*Jedah's eyes opened suddenly, as the image impaled into his mind like a dagger. He opened a channel between him and Nepenthe, to communicate a simple message telepathically.

Jedah: (Perhaps in the future, we can relay more then stand-still images to one another.....)

The demon closed his eyes, shutting down the channel of communication...*

Aidian patrolled the area around the cave, flexing his elemental muscles. True, they weren't as impressive as they had been, but they still worked.

A fat cricket landed on his boot and chirruped loudly. Holding his fingers over it like a cat's claw, a white mist spread from the tips and shot into the small insect. It froze instantly, like a minature ice-sculpture.

Aidian opened his hand and pulled back his arm, his eyes glowing slighlty. The same white mist circled the cricket and flowed back into his fingertips. The cricket, rather bemused, jumped off.

Aidian smiled as it hopped into the grass. Up above him, he could see the clouds moving slowly overhead, calmly herding themselves towards the west. Although serene in their movement, a shade of grey stretched out underneath them, almost indiscernably. They still had work to do. They had to move quickly.
