Bazlik stood on the corner watching the group in the alleyway with a thoughtful gaze. He seemed to be a spectator like all the others just another person that blended in with the crowd. He smiled once again without reason. Slowly he stepped onto the street and of the curb.
A women screamed and yelled. "Its him he is the one that killed all those people" at the top of her lungs. Bazlik swerved to look at this women. "Oh come on now, we were only playing nice"

He suddenly had his hands around her neck. "You know what, now that I think about it, playing nice was really never my thing." Bazlik took his hand and slammed it into her stomach. She flew into a brick wall killing her instantly. "That was fun anybody else up for a bit of fun?" "But they?re coming for you Bazlik" "Oh right, damn that girl. Ruined everything didn't she now." Bazlik was talking to absolutely nobody. He was standing in the street alone. "Best we go then before they come. Damn Bastards, oh well they will get what is coming to them?

The thought of sleeping in an Inn that night was too tempting for Aidian to turn down. He'd not eaten in a week, and had hardly slept for twice that long. He could feel himself getting weaker.

Nepenthe suddenly gave him a quizzical look. She could sense his feelings. Straightening himself, he coughed and adjusted his armour, trying to convince her that he was as strong as he tried to perceive. It didn't work, and she shook her head, smiling.

Slowly, they approached the door of the inn, each wary of what lay inside. Aidian had always feared the power of the dark, and being around two creatures of demon-like stature didn't help calm his nerves. His grip tightened on his staff, the silvery-blue gauntlets he was wearing glinting in the half-light. Looking up at the moon, he took a deep breath, the cool air soothing his thoughts.

The door to the inn was made of a rotting wood, barely staying on its hinges. Nepenthe forced her way to the front of the group and barged it open. Those sitting at the tables and bars immediately stopped what they were doing and stared at them intently. Quietly, the group wandered in, each getting stranger looks than the last. When Jedah finally walked inside, everyone felt a cold shiver run down their spines. The whole room seemed to squirm in unison, before sinking back down into their routine. The noise began to pick up again, thankfully, and Nepenthe and Ambika walked over to the bar.

"We need some rooms." Nepenthe said firmly, resting her stare upon the inkeeper.

The inkeeper was a stocky man who walked with a limp. Waddling over to the bar, he gave her a dismissive look, before looking to the rest of them.

"All of you?" he grunted.

"Two rooms. One for us," she said, indicating Ambika and herself, "and one for them," she continued, gesturing back to Jedah, Aidian and Michael. They looked fairly objectional at first, but realised that a room each would not only be costly, but dangerous as well. Separation at such a time would not be a goos strategic move.

The inkeeper gave her a questioning glance before holding out his hand expectantly. Ambika gave him a cold glare.

"We'll pay in the morning." she growled, ending their conversation. The inkeeper muttered something obscene under his breath and wandered back to the drinks behind the bar.

Aidian looked around him. He hated being in debt to people. He had no money himself, so provisions for him were a no-go. Mildly disappointed, he wandered back outside.

"Just need some fresh air. This place is stifling." he muttered to Jedah, who raised his eyebrows inquisitively. Ignoring him, Aidian stepped through the door and launched himself onto the roof to sit in the moonlight.

Nepenthe's words kept appearing in his mind. "I know exactly where I'm going. And I relish it". He had no idea where he was going. At times, he thought that maybe it would have been better to have been arrested. At least then, he'd have a chance to explain himself. And his life would have a purpose. Now, he was only drifting. Lying back against the slope of the roof, he looked up at the moon. His armour seemed to glow in its light, as did the blades of his staff. Deep down, he missed Altea, the only place where he had truely been in peace, but he knew that he could never go back.

Back inside the inn, a dark-hooded person sat silently in the corner of the large dining room, holding an empty cup between two old, gnarled hands. The hood turned to watch the group of strangers who had entered the inn, and almost inaudibly, began to laugh to itself.

Nepenthe's eyes flickered, and she curled her lips dangerously. The laughter died away to a harsh gurgle, and the others went upstairs. She padded silently over the floor, raising her hand in greeting to more than three people...before coming outside to Aidian. She leaned on the rail next to him, and smiled.

Nepenthe: Uneasy about going in there? I don't blame you. Dorobo witches aren't famous for their hospitality.

Aidian: ...I can't go back....and I have to keep moving.

Nepenthe: So let's do it, and not dwell on what we can not change.

He looked at her soulfully, and she smiled gently. He stood up, and she held out her hand.

Nepenthe: Then come inside. You must sleep.

The warrior hesitated, then took it. Her hand was cold, but a feeling of calm rushing water blew past him. Her eyes glimmered and she kissed his cheek.

Nepenthe: Come.

*As Nepenthe and Aidian neared the door of the pub, they were stopped by a sudden echoed chatter, one of a familiar demon.

Jedah: "How romantic...or is it mere deception Nepenthe? To win the heart, is to win the body and soul. Be wary Aidian, the games of this sorceress go beyond the mind..."

Jedah was leaning against the wall of the pub, near to the front door. His enormous scythe resting next to him. He brought up a long, very slender smoking device of some sorts ot his lips, and puffed out rings of smoke.

Jedah: "how unfair to toy with his heart like that sorceress. You should know better."

Jedah lowered his head and closed his eyes, as a smirk cracked in the corner of his mouth. He awaited a reply, the wittiest, no doubt....*

Nepenthe: If I meant to harm his soul...I would do so quite easily. But I do not wish to cause any pain to him. On the other hand...I will cause agony in your mind...with great glee I might add.

Aidian: ....I feel so loved.

She grinned at him and pushed him in the direction of the stairs. Then she returned her attention to Jedah. The nearby sylph held up a tray of wine glasses and she took one. She sniffed it experimentally...then sipped. Perfect...untainted.

Jedah: You wish to kill me eventually?

Nepenthe: Where would all the fun go...if you were dead?

*Jedah cracked a dark smile at Nepenthe.

Jedah: "Oh but on the contrary my dear, I already am. In death, is the only pursuit of real happiness realized. True, if I were to be killed in this realm I would be un-able to return to my homeland. However, a demon.....does not die alone."

He slowly turned and stepped towards Nepenthe, his scythe dissapearing in a glistening red light flash. As he approached her, he raised his cigarette to his lips once more...

Jedah: "I assure you young sorceress, that soul of yours will be mine eventually. If this Danormris event hadn't occured, I would be pursuing that very task right now. It's inevitable my dear. One day, we will undoubtedly clash."

Jedah took a last inhalation from his cigarette, he puffed the smoke in a long stream to Nepenthe's face, it was in the shape of a heart, as she could tell clearly. A thin line of smoke then burst through the center of the heart, it was a dragon, with immense detail. It mesmerized her, only to be awakened by the voice of Jedah once more.

Jedah: "Sweet dreams.....for that is the only true form of innocence....."

The demon walked by the female, and levitated up the flight of stairs...past Aidian, and to his room.*

Aidian gave Jedah an icy glare as he walked Nepenthe past him, wearing a seemingly expressionless face. Aidian could feel his smug air about him as he silently showed her into her bedroom.

Aidian's eyes narrowed, a swell of hatred and jealousy burning in his stomach. Tempted to take his sword to the throat of the Makai-dweller, he defied his feelings and turned away, albeit very slowly. His cheek still tingled from the kiss she'd lain on it. As he stroked his fingers across the side of his face, trails of ice appeared on his skin, glimmering in the candlelit hallway. Storming back to his room, he slammed the door in anger, turning it to pure ice and sending a harsh wind throughout the entire building.

Taking the sword form the scabbard on his belt, he drew the point across the trails of ice, blood freezing instantly on his skin.

Jealousy of love was a dangerous thing. Another relic of his past he wanted to leave behind. Throwing the sword to the floor, he crouched down inot the corner of the room and fell asleep, troubled thoughts playing into his dreams.

*Amika could only grimaced at what had just transpired. They did not need conflict among themselves and she might have to talk to them as a whole if they kept it up. She was growing tired of both of their minds games together. However, for now, she kept to herself and drank some of the hard liqour she had been given, not caring if it may be poisoned. She was immune to most of them and more that she did not know of. She still had to pay the innkepper which was not a problem but if anything happened, she would have all the inhabitant's heads. She refused to tolerate any more trouble than she needed to.*

Ambika: "I wonder......"

Nepenthe reclined gracefully...at rest....but clearly upset........animus...

Ambika: Are you playing with Aidian?

Nepenthe: ....no. I have no desire to. I only seek to give him a healing he will not find with anyone else.

The leader was startled. The idea that she had no passion for Aidian was a new one. Then again.... Nepenthe was a child of Habeas Requiem. Obviously healing could be found...with her. Nepenthe looked at Ambika quietly, and a half smile was on her face. Jedah's thoughts drifted between the two of them....nearly palpable....almost audible.

Nepenthe: I have nothing for Aidian but a close respect. Jedah will not toy with me as he toys with Aidian.

Ambika: .....Do you plan on playing with the demon then?

Nepenthe: Maybe. He is interesting.

*Nodding at Nepenthe?s reply, Ambika brought her drink down and leaned closer towards her, not wanting anyone knowing that conflict may arise if something goes wrong.*

Ambika: ?Fighting fire against fire will breed only more fire. And as far as I can see?game you play with the demon may lead into a bonfire if this ?playing? transforms into hostile rivalry. I would like to keep him around?he would make a rather nice addition as an ally. Even, if his plans differ from ours. Let us not forget about obtaining the magical stones...we MUST find them before arriving at Malkariss...or else all is in vain. I dare not reach Malkariss without the stones or sacrifices...?

*Suddenly, she felt something was amiss and surveyed the inn once more.*

Ambika: ?Raiha, something is a bit off?I can?t quite pinpoint it though. This place is filled with too much darkness for me to identify if any actual threat.?

Nepenthe: There is a messenger of darkness downstairs. He laughed at me and Aidian...and Jedah was undisturbed by him.

Ambika: ...is he the one we should fear? Or this whole place?

Nepenthe: Witch Kryas would throw a fit. He has no power over her in this place. She reigns....and will be content to remain in such a place.

Ambika: Does he match her?

Nepenthe: No. Her allies here are too many. We best be on our guard, even if he is not an immediate threat. But don't worry.

She smiled, half to herself, half otherwise. Nepenthe had no intention of starting something she couldn't finish with Jedah, and he deeply intrigued her. She sent this thought directly into Ambika's mind, the smiled again.

"I would think you would be happy with all the ruckus about to happen." Once again Bazlik stood talking to himself

"Oh well then I guess I bloody well might as kill them while they are in the hotel. Nothing better to do, you know you never let me have fun. I think I ought to rip your god damn bloody heart out" He laughed and walked down the street. Bazlik went on talking to himself as he headed down the street towards the old run down hotel.
"But you kill me, you kill yourself."
"Yes, yes. I wonder if the old chap still works at this establishment." he thought to himself.
"I doubt it, I've heard witches run it now."
"Oh really, well then. Thats a bargain for me. Here we are, should we go through the front or the back"
"Up to you"
"Oh goody, I love when you say that"
Slowly bazlik rose his foot of the ground, standing sideways to the door. He bent his leg and then snapped it out in an instant extended through the broken down old door. It made tremendous slam that echoed throughout the building as it hit the floor. Bazlik laughed.
"Come out, come out wherever you are. Because I'm going to rip your bloody heads off."

It was dark. Smoke swirled around him, clouding his vision. The room smelled of blood. Disorientated, he struggled to stay upright, the smell burning his nostrils. As he righted himself, he heard a click of metal from behind him. His staff in his hand, he whirled round and slammed it into the shadows. It hit something with a sickening thud, and a ghastly wheeze emenated from the darkness. Pulling the blade free from the obstruction, he saw something fall to the floor. It was a human. Slowly, the smoke began to clear and the room came into view. Moonlight seeped in through the window, illuminating the object of his attack. It was an old man. Not just any man, but him. His cold, lifeless eyes gazed up at him, and slowly the black blood swept over the floor, engulfing him...

Aidian woke with a jolt. Breathing heavily and in a cold sweat, he rubbed his face. He hated this place. He hated all of the darkness. But yet it existed everywhere. Maybe he would be better of embracing it and doing away with his life. He looked at his fist, enclosed in a gauntlet.

No. That wasn't the way to go. Why was he getting so upset about Nepenthe? Was it the fact that he'd been alone for so long, or was it the fact that she showed compassion to him. It was unlike anything he'd felt before. Deep in thought, he climbed onto his bed and lay back, hoping for a less troubled rest.

OOC: Sorry, my bad. Although, up until now your character's been pretty separate, so ours wouldn't know that much about what Bazlik's been up to. Um... I did pay atention to it, but just didn't reply. I can't think of that much right now, but here's a little bit.
---------------------------------------

A massive slam interrupted Aidian's thoughts. From downstairs, he heard a sinisterly manic voice. Kicking open the door to his room, he pelted down the corridor, narrowly missing running into Jedah. He'd felt his presence. Michael was running close behind. They landed at the bottom of the stairs to be greeted by a white-skinned male wearing a black trenchcoat which trailed behind him sinisterly. Jedah looked unimpressed at the stranger.

Seeing Ambika and Nepenthe drawing their weapons, the three of them did the same, ready to fend off the dangerous-looking traveller.

Valick....the reason why I have been ignoring your post, is that they have not directly been interacted with ANY of our characters as of yet. And from what it seems, you have a death wish in the RPG. You've just walked into a bar and threatened to kill us all.....1 on 5 isn't very good odds.

I think you should probably re-think your last post and try another approach then our enemy...

But Valick...you must take into consideration our characters personalities. Our characters most likely would kill you...and even if they don't, they would never let your character travel with them. Jedah is right. You might want to reconsider and take another approach other than our enemy.

dosen't any body see the point, my charcter is supposed to be killed. Is that to hard to comprehend... I mean just because I'm an rpg and i haven't interacted with other players dosen't mean I can still do what I'm doing. Or is it you people just think the way I rpg is bad?

Mmm, a stinging and most excellent insult is on the tip of my tongue...you might have already guessed it Mp....but I won't say it.

Well Valik, if it makes you happy....

Before any of the other fighters could attack, Nepenthe had vaulted fowards on her staff, body radiating energy. With a quick double swing and thrust, she knocked his face about, and drove the point through his chest. She dug in, then wrenched her weapon free, eyes shimmering with light.

She touched down on one foot, lightly, and easily. Bazlik coughed up red blood, and groaned.....

Nepenthe: ......Arigato. Fool.

*Ambika sheathed her weapon once more and stood disgusted at the event that had passed before her. They had just attracted attention that she had been trying to avoid. Growling very silently, she walked to the innkeeper and tossed some gold coins on the counter and walked out the hotel. After the incident, she did not trust that any of them were to be safe; Adesto might hear word of it soon. Calling out behind her, she spoke to her companions*

Ambika: "Come...we must find some place else...before it becomes too late."

*Jedah was angry, he needed rest. The events of Nepenthe were enjoyable and satisfying to watch, but she had cost him a bed for the night most likely.

Jedah: "Well that was a little harsh Nepenthe. Nicely done however...."

The demon glided through the doorway, following closely behind Ambika to their next destination.

Nepenthe: I'm Vengance in a mortal shell....don't patronize me.

Jedah: Mhmm...

The others followed quickly, avoiding the stares and glares of the inn's patrons. Ambika groaned and they continued their quest. This was starting to become a pain..... Evil villans following and attacking them everywhere.

No sooner had they cleared the forest, when it began to rain. Nepenthe was literally in her element, and went cartwheeling through the grass.

Ambika: Nepenthe!

Nepente: Huh?

Ambika: ....nevermind.

((Sorry I haven't been here, didn't realise it had been so,long since my last post. *hugs MP* But I'm back now!))

*Awaking from a deep meditation, the mere thought of leaving from someone downstairs stimulating him, Michael unfolded his legs and stood up. Looking around, the young man tried to remember where he was. An Inn, yes, that was it. He had travelled into the town with the ones he was observing. They were downstairs and he was awake, which meant they intended to leave.

As the group exited the building, Michael did the same, but he took a less conventional ruite. The fabric of the Inn wall parted, allowing him to walk straight out. Instantly closing behind the controller of reality, it gave him a surface on which to cling.

Moving forward quickly on all fours, Michael followed the group, well aware they knew he followed. Leaping from building to building, travelling on a vertical plane, the man easily kept up and, as they left the town, he jumped down onto the floor where he would walk among them for a while. Where was the harm in that?*
