Takari's not my personal cup of tea thanks to its all-encompassing-ness. It was fine for a while, but after ages of not being able to find a fic that isn't Takari, it gets old and the cliches get annoying. There are good reasons for the pairing, but among them are not the following: They both have angel Digimon, their crests are important, Patamon and Gatomon have romantic moments, they share an attack at Armor. Unfortunately, those are the most popular reasons given. (I know Ginny was kidding, but the other zillion are dead serious.) I don't like Daikari because of the way Kari treated Davis. I'd rather him realize she's not worth it and move on, rather hang around the girl who enjoys using his affection to get him to do what she wants but otherwise can't be bothered to say two words to him until she finally deigns to lower herself to associating with him. I prefer Davis with Yolei and Kari with Ken.

As for Davis and TK, Davis is okay, and 02 TK is pretty much a blank slate. His personality's not too defined. The second season could've done with a lot more character development.

I'm sorry for the lack of posts. I just finished off a 10 page report and I'm not much in the mood for writing.
I'll post soon though.

Finals Are DONE!!! I am FREE!!! I'm starting to end this story too, so things are getting good. I hope you like!:)

Chapter 10: A Nightmare I Can?t Wake Up From?Or Can I?

?Nightmare?? Kari gasped. ?You think YOU?VE been living a nightmare?! What about Davis and I? Not knowing where you?re going to pop up, the lengths you might go to, always looking over our shoulders?I?d call THAT a nightmare.?

?Who asked you, anyway? I don?t recall asking you to speak!? TK sneered.

?Oh so now I have to have permission to speak. Well let me tell you one thing, you little jerk. This is a FREE country!? Kari glared at TK, who then slapped her across the mouth.

?Shut up!? he shouted. Kari began to cry. She didn?t know what to do. She could hardly believe that this was real. TK had a mean streak, but it wasn?t anything like this. She wished someone were there to help.

TK had had enough. He couldn?t take hearing all this anymore. He had to clear his head in order to enjoy his vengeance. He walked to the stairway, and up to the roof of the building to get some air.

?That?s it, run away from me!? Kari growled. TK gave another long, evil gaze at her before ascending out of sight. Again, Kari sat there, alone in the dark. She?d all but given up hope of a rescue. She didn?t even know where she was. How could the others?

Time passed for what seemed like hours. Kari sat there, unable to move. Her life was running through her head. She was remembering her childhood; the time she?d spent in the digital world; Tai?s wedding; her own wedding. All the stuff that meant anything at all to her was coming back. Suddenly, she heard something. It was a soft, padding sound. Kari strained to look around in the darkness. She couldn?t see anything but she knew something was there.

Kari continued to listen closely. Finally, something crossed the light coming in from a small window. It was white. Kari held her breath. Could it be? She wondered, and then decided to give it a try.

?Here kitty?Kitty kitty?Come kitty.?

Out of the shadows emerged a beautiful white cat. It had sparkling blue eyes, and little yellow socks on its feet. Its tail was striped, and it?s ears tinged with a dark brown. The cat looked up at Kari and meowed. It jumped in her lap and purred. Kari wished she could pet it. She remembered Meko back home.

Just then, TK walked back into the room. The cat scrambled and hid in the shadows once more.

?Pests,? TK murmured. Kari could still see the glare on the cat?s eyes. She was quite thankful for the small comfort it brought her. She looked over at TK, who was doing something over a cabinet. He turned around with a knife and a gun in his hands. Kari gasped, and her heart raced.

?You know, I think I know just how to finally get back at you.? He spoke in a cool, collected voice. Kari could tell he?d thought about this the entire time he was out.

?Look at you. Young, beautiful, married; what more could you ask for??

?Freedom?? Kari tried.

?Mmm?? TK nodded. ?Freedom indeed. Freedom from the bindings of life. Freedom from this nightmare.? TK pointed the gun at Kari. Kari stared at him as hard as her trembling body would let her. She was prepared for the end.

?Nah, that?d be too easy!? TK was almost laughing. ?I?m not going to kill you! I?m going to make you watch me kill myself! You?ll never get over it!? TK laughed insanely.

?TK! NO!? Kari screamed. TK held the gun to his head, still laughing. Kari was fighting to get herself free to stop him, but she just couldn?t. Just as TK was about to pull the trigger, an intense white light flooded the room. It was so bright, that TK dropped the gun. He fell to his knees to shield his eyes.

The light began to focus in on itself near the center of the stage. Kari felt warm and free again, but she still didn?t move. All she could do was watch. The light drew closer and closer in on itself until the outline of a woman was visible. Then the light faded out just enough for the figure to be revealed.

?Angewomon!? Kari shouted. ?But how??

?Angewomon?? TK repeated. The shining angel spread her wings, and scooped Kari up, and held her tight. Kari hugged her, and smiled.

?I knew it was you. It had to be!? Kari said thankfully. Angewomon smiled.

?Our business isn?t through here.? She said firmly, looking down at TK.

?You can?t hurt me. You won?t!? TK sneered.

?I shall not hurt this body. It is what?s inside that I shall conquer!? Angewomon sat Kari down, and drew her bow. TK got up and tried to run away. Angewomon fired a succession of four arrows, pinning TK to the wall by his clothes.

?Now this darkness will be removed! Heaven?s Charm!? Angewomon raised her hands together, high above her body. A beam of light appeared in front of her. She dropped her hands in front of her, and spread her arms wide, forming another, perpendicular beam. The cross shaped beam headed out towards TK. It surrounded his body, and he began to convulse. A dark cloud appeared around him, and floated off to one side away from him. TK was left pinned to the wall, lifeless.

The dark cloud began to take a form. At first it looked like a dark cross, churning with dark clouds. As the form emerged, Kari began to recognize the familiar shape. Long, black arms with red claws became visible first. Then, demonic wings followed. Finally, the body, and the horned head materialized.

?Devimon!? Kari shouted. The demon creature let out a roar of evil that shook the whole room. Angewomon held her ground. Although Devimon was only champion level, he was a type of digimon that could become quite powerful under the right circumstances.

?It all makes sense now.? Kari thought. ?Devimon must have been controlling him. It was all because of me. I left him vulnerable that night.?

?Kari, it wasn?t your fault. You could not have prevented it. Nothing you could have done would have stopped this fiend.? Angewomon consoled.

?Exactly. And I?m not finished yet!? Devimon growled.

?I beg to differ.? Angewomon replied.

Chapter 11: With Old Hopes Come New Dreams (The last chapter)

Angewomon prepared for the battle at hand. Devimon gathered his strength. He glowed an evil blue-black color.

?Kari, get TK to safety. Devimon has become very powerful from all of TK?s energy. This could get ugly.? Angewomon explained. Kari ran to TK. The arrows that held him to the wall dissipated and he fell into her arms. His body was almost entirely lifeless. Kari did her best to drag him out of harm?s way. She finally found some crates to hide behind as the battle began.

Meanwhile, Ken and Davis were driving around the city, trying to come up with a plan to find Kari. Neither had slept in days, and they showed it. Tai and Sora had placed missing posters of Kari all over New York. Matt and Joe had gone several places asking questions. Mimi coordinated a hotline for possible sightings. Yet everything led to nothing. Ken was at his wit?s end. He?d never had this much problem on a case. He just had to find Kari. Davis wouldn?t make it without her.

Davis stared out the window. All he could think about was things he could have done to stop TK. Davis totally blamed him self for everything. It was the first time anyone could recall seeing him depressed. He should have tried to talk to TK before all this started. He should have done anything but what he did. Davis held the door handle so tightly it nearly broke.

As they drove down the city streets, the car lit up, and then went dark again as they passed the streetlights. They just needed some clue to go on. Anything. Even the smallest clue would be a start at least. Suddenly, something caught Davis?s attention. He stared for a second to be sure it was real.

?Ken! Pull over!? He shouted. Ken screeched the car to a stop, and Davis hobbled over to the side of the bridge they?d just crossed. His leg hadn?t completely healed yet, and he still needed a crutch. Ken followed close behind.

?What is it? Did you see something Davis??

?Look over there.? Davis pointed at the old part of the downtown area that was now mostly warehouses. Smoke was rising from a building and several flashes of light beamed from it.

?What do you suppose it is?? Davis asked.

?I don?t know, but it?s worth checking out, I?d say.? Ken replied.

?I agree. Let?s go!?

Back in the abandoned theater, Angewomon wasn?t fairing so well. Devimon was much more powerful then she?d anticipated. He?d drained all of TK?s Hope energy. She flew up and fired a succession of Celestial Arrow?s, but to no avail.

?Evil Wing!? Devimon shouted as pulses of dark energy blasted from his wings. They slammed into Angewomon, and she fell to the ground. Kari couldn?t bear to watch much more, but what could she do? She was powerless against someone like Devimon. She wished Yolei and Hawkmon were there. Silphymon could stop him for sure.

Angewomon struggled to her feet. She had one last resort tucked under her wings. She stood upright, and spread all of her wings wide. They began to glow intensely.

?Holy Light!? Angewomon cried. The light around her left her body, and gathered around Devimon.

?What the?!? He was rendered motionless by the attack. A massive explosion followed. As the dust cleared, Kari could make out Devimon?s shape across the room. Angewomon devolved into Gatomon and collapsed. Kari ran to her and held her tightly.

?Oh Gatomon, I love you!? Kari sobbed. Suddenly she gasped.

?You?ll pay for that!? Devimon screeched. He wasn?t finished. Kari was now frantic. Gatomon was out and so was TK. She was left to her own. What would she do?

?Come on Kari...think!? she said to herself. She searched the room for answers. Nothing. Wait, her backpack! It had her digivice and TK?s crest in it! That had to count for something!

Devimon was in flight by this time, coming her way. He swooped down at her, and she fell to the floor to avoid him. As soon as he was over her, she dashed for her backpack. She hurriedly unzipped it and took her digivice out.

?Eat this you freak!? She shouted. A beam of pink light shot from it, and it struck Devimon down. He landed on the old balcony in the rear.

The light continued to beam out from her digivice and into the night sky. Davis and Ken saw it, and instantly knew it to be Kari. They rushed as fast as they could to the old theater. Ken halted the car and Davis nearly fell over himself trying to get inside. He burst through the rear doors and saw Kari on the stage. He started towards her.

?Davis! Watch out!? Kari screamed. Devimon flew from the balcony and grabbed Davis. Ken tried to grab him, but missed as Devimon flew higher. Ken drew his gun and shot at Devimon. One shot hit him in the wing, causing him to drop Davis. He managed to catch a ledge, and climbed down the stage curtain. He ran to Kari, hugging her tightly.

?This isn?t over yet guys!? Ken shot at Devimon, who was diving at him. Again, he hit him. This time, it was his shoulder that was hit.

?You?ll pay for that!? Devimon flew to the balcony ledge and turned toward the front. Ken ran up to the others.

?This ought to keep you busy!? Devimon laughed. ?Dungeon Curse!? The attack missed Ken.

?Ha! Where?d you learn to aim!?? Ken mocked.

?Oh, but I didn?t miss!? Devimon grinned. Kari gasped. Ken turned to see Davis walking, without a limp, toward him.

?Davis? What in the world are you doing?? Ken asked, more than a little shocked. Davis threw a punch at Ken. Ken dodged it, but
Davis kept coming.

?I don?t want to hurt you, Davis! Stop this!? Ken pleaded, but Davis kept coming. Soon the two were locked in battle. Devimon turned his attention back to Kari, who was guarding TK.

?You leave him alone you beast!? Kari cried.

?Oh, I?m so scared. A young woman is threatening me, an all powerful demon lord. BAH!? Devimon sneered.

?K?Kari.? TK tried to speak.

?TK don?t talk, you?re hurt. I don?t want to lose you again. I care too much about you!? Kari sobbed.

?You?care?? TK?s eyes filled with tears. Suddenly, Kari?s backpack began to glow. It stood up on it?s own, and the small bag inside floated out. It began to disintegrate, and the fragments inside began to assemble themselves. Kari stared as the Crest of Hope formed. It floated back to TK. He reached out and took it. He cried as he held it close to him, over his heart.

As this happened, the spell over Davis broke, as Ken socked him in the jaw.

?OWW! What was THAT for?!? Davis yelped. Ken shied away.

?Oops??

?What?!? Devimon was enraged. He let out a roar that shook the dust from the ceiling. TK tried his best to set up. Kari helped him up, and propped him up against one of the crates.

?This ends now.? TK said in the most serious tone anyone had ever heard from him. ?You have controlled my life for long enough. You took advantage of my pain. You wrecked my life. You caused me to?hurt my friends?? TK was crying again. ?It all ends now! There isn?t any amount of pain I could possibly inflict on you to make you feel what I feel right now!? TK reached in his pocket and pulled out his digivice. Devimon had been feeding off its energy. TK held it high. Gatomon rose to her feet.

?Gatomon digivolve to?Angewomon!?

?Angewomon digivolve to?Magnadramon!?

?Magnadramon Holy-Digivolve to?Ophanimon!?

?Wow?? everyone said collectively. TK wasn?t finished. A beam of light came from the digivice once more. It expanded as it shined across the room. A fuzzy image became visible in it. Davis soon recognized it.

?Alright! Patamon!? Davis cheered.

?TK! It?s me!? Patamon flew to his partner. It had been a long time. TK hugged him.

?Oh, TK, I?m glad you?re back!?

?Me too, pal, me too. Now let?s teach this demonic freak a lesson once and for all!? TK shouted.

?Right! Patamon warp digivolve to?Seraphimon!? Seraphimon flew up with Ophanimon to face Devimon.

?I?m not going down that easy!? Devimon shouted. ?Touch of Evil!? The attack didn?t even faze the two angels.

?WHAT?!? Devimon screamed.

?As the keeper of Light?? Ophanimon said?

??And as the Keeper of Hope?? Seraphimon added?

??We cannot allow you to exist in any form any longer,? the two finished together.

?Who are you to allow me to do anything?!? Devimon mocked.

?Enough talk! We hereby banish you from every realm of existence!? The angels commanded.

?Divine Judgment!? The two super powers directed a ray of energy at Devimon that was so great, that it caused the ground to tremble. Devimon vaporized before everyone?s eyes, screaming in pain.

Everything calmed down, and the two angels devolved into Patamon and Gatomon. They each ran to their partners. TK and Kari hugged them. Ken and Davis ran to the stage and over to Kari.

?Are you okay Kari? Are you hurt? I was so worried?? Davis said in tears. Kari couldn?t recall him ever crying before.

?I?m fine Davis. I?m fine.? She said holding him. Ken smiled and turned to TK. He sat there with his head between his knees, as Patamon nuzzled him. Davis and Kari looked over at him. Kari got up and went to him.

?TK??

?Stay back! I don?t want to hurt you anymore!? TK cried.

?TK, he?s gone. We want you back. It?s all okay now. It wasn?t your fault. You couldn?t help it if you were being controlled by that monster.? Kari soothed.

?I knew everything that happened, yet I was powerless to stop it. It was like I was in a nightmare and couldn?t wake up. I?m so ashamed of all this. I was weak and let him control me.? TK sobbed.

?TK, it could have happened to any one of us. You know that. We?ve all had our weak times.? Kari replied.

?That?s right TK. Just look at me. I was the evil Digimon emperor. Remember?? Ken reminded.

?TK look; I don?t care if you think you were wrong. It wasn?t you. As far as I?m concerned, you?ve been held hostage all this time. It?s time to get back to life; back to your friends; back to your hopes and dreams.? Davis said.

?You mean, you all are willing to take me back in after all this?? TK looked up finally.

?What do you mean back? You never left!? Davis smiled.

?He?s right,? Ken and Kari agreed. TK stood and they all hugged him. Gatomon and Patamon sighed together.

?You guys were awesome!? Kari said to them.

?Aww, it was nothing,? the two digimon replied. ?You?d have done the same for us!? Everyone laughed.

?Let?s go home.? Davis said finally.

?Home?? TK sighed.

The next day, the gang was packing their things for the trip home. Everyone had crashed at Mimi and Joe?s for the night so TK could catch up on everyone?s lives. Everyone was there. Even Izzy had made it over. Everyone that is, except one person?
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Mimi answered the door to find an irate man and a police officer. Mimi invited them inside.

?That?s them officer! Those are the ones who wrecked my theater!? The man yelled.

?Is this true?? The policeman asked.

?Well I??Davis began. Then there was another knock on the door. Mimi opened it, and Cody, of all people, walked through, and over to the officer. Nobody said anything as Cody opened his briefcase, and handed the policeman a document.

?What this man isn?t telling you is that that theater was scheduled for demolition next week anyway. He?s just trying to fraud his insurance.? Cody said solemnly.

The officer cast a long, hard glare at the man.

?Ehehheheh?I can explain officer??

?Save it, buddy. You and I got a trip to take!? He grabbed the man by the shoulder and headed for the door. ?Sorry to disturb you folks.?

?Law school pays off yet again.? Cody smiled.

?Wow! My hero! Yolei laughed.

?Who?d have thought Cody would save the day!? TK grinned.

?Hey! What?s that supposed to mean?!? Cody replied.
Everyone laughed, and Cody soon got the joke. The whole group was back together again. As they finished packing their things, Kari was walking around taking pictures of everyone.

?I don?t know why you want all these pictures Kari.? TK remarked.

?What do you mean??

?Isn?t it obvious? This just proves that nothing can ever separate the best of friends.? TK replied. Kari smiled and hugged him.
"You are so right TK. You are SO right."
