Those Songs..

There are songs that mean certain things to people. Weather they be linked by memories, or you can relate to the lyrics, or you just love the song. Everyone has a song, or maybe a few, that they will listen to when they feel great, and the song will help them feel even better. Or when they feel bad, they hear it, and feel better.
I think it's different for everyone. I was just wondering if, that for you, there is a song you can't live with out. You know all the words, and the tune off by heart. Songs that, for whatever reason, mean so much to you.

Anyway, i was just wondering if anyone has any songs like that???

At the moment, Waiting, by greenday is one of those songs for me.
But the one I shall never lose, would have to be Under the Bridge, I shouldn't have to tell you who its by.

American Pie by Don McLean...the original 8 minute version.
It's amazing how someone can write a song that relates to the way things happened but yet, not that many people understand the song. I actually wrote a patriotism essay about it lol.
Sometimes when I feel really down, Your Winter by Sister Hazel is the song I listen to...it's really amazing.
SOrry Seems To Be The Hardest WOrd by Blue...
I have a thing with sad songs lol. I usually like metal and rock and stuff but I have a soft spot for slow songs.
I think I have problems. lol
luv from the one and only -=MuEsLeE=-

i forgot like the 2 best...:drunk:
Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton and Throw Your Arms Around Me...by i forget...i think its simon and garfunkel im not sure.
those two because they were the first 2 songs i listened to after the bali bombing and they made me realise what had happened.

"Electrical Storm" by U2.. it's fairly knew, but as soon as I heard the line "You're in my mind all the time, I know that's not enough" I just kind of.. clicked.. or something.. I dunno.. I just like that song

and also "Good and Gracious" by Gareth Robinson.. which I doubt many (if any) will know.. but it's a very cool up-beat, fast, loud worship song.. and I think it's really cool
I'm going to get beaten my harlequin for this but, Stan and Kim and a few others off the mm lp, by eminem.
Reason I they remind me is because it was the best time of my life, so far that is. (And some others have come close to beating that but they didn't have songs, no I'm not going to tell you how the songs fit in.) :D

Under the bridge... Good times all up, we always listened to that. What else can I say.
Whenever I feel sad I just listen to Green Day - Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and it somehow helps me get over the sad points in my life. When I broke up with my g/f, when I got home, opend up winamp the first song to play was The Starting Line - Best Of Me. That song has a special meaning to me too.

Two songs I've recently heard that I just kinda zone out on, whenever I listen to them are 'Simple and Clean' (Utada Hikaru), and Without Me (Nicholas Tse, not Eminem).
They just make me feel warm and small and yeah. Reminds me of when I was little. I guess it's the tune and the way it's sang, as well as the lyrics.

There are tonnes of old songs that I like, that can set me off too.
..I just can't remember any right now..

when I'm mad at like an event or a person(s) i listen to SlipKnot/Korn/Rammstein/Limp Bizkit to be more specific Wait & Bleed/Freak On A Leash/Eifersucht/Break Stuff. That stuff just settles me down (sounds kind of weird because of the tone and lyrics of the music).

when I'm happy or trying to relax I listen to Stevie Ray Vaughn/Jimi Hendrix (Voodoo Chile/(Voodoo Chile) & Purple Haze), because it reminds me of when me and my dad used to sit around the house in Houston and just be goofy and listen to music. [i mean we STILL sit aorund the house and act goofy and listen to music, but it's just good memories].

EDIT: When I listen to anything Insane Clown Posse. I zone out. It's the lyrics, man. Specifically, Crossing The Bridge or Ain't Yo Bidness.

AFI - Clove Smoke Catharsis - My disappointment; being let down.
AFI - Malleus Maleficarum - My pride and resistance.
AFI - A Single Second - All the times I knew something bad was going to happen, but did not do anything to prevent it.
AFI - Let it Be Broke - Having to put up with the everyday A-hole.
AFI - Third Season - Mwuahah... awaiting the inevitable.
AFI - Lower Your Head and Take it in the Body - Moral of the story is: Persist in whatever you want to do, but be prepared to be willing to take a few hits because of it.

Mark Schultz; Back in His Arms Again. This is really a special song to me. It means a lot for myself, and it means a lot when I think about other people going through a rough time.

Michael W. Smith; Missing Person. I fell in love with this song--not the first time I heard it, but the first time I listened. I had to run the CD back and listen to it several times before I was convinced it was real. It so completely described the way I'd been feeling.

Elton John; Crocodile Rock. Heh. This song always makes me smile. My mom is a huge Elton John fan, and I remember being in the car with her as a little kid, listening to her belt out this song as we drove around the city, hunting for rummage sales. It's just a fantastic happy memory.

Jimmy Buffet; Volcano. This is another "good memory" song. When I was little, this was my favorite song in the entire world. Don't ask why, I couldn't tell you.

Georgia on my Mind. Yep, another memory song. I remember, several years ago at night, lying on the living room floor, listening to music with my dad. I'm sure we must have listened to a couple hours' worth of songs, but this is the one I remember from that night.

Weird Al; The Night Santa Went Crazy. I'm perfectly serious, why are you laughing at me? The first time I heard this, I was at a friend's house with a bunch of other people. I'd never heard any Weird Al stuff before, and I just about died laughing. My friends dubbed it "Sara's song" and would play it all the time just to see me crack up.

from An American Tail; Somewhere Out There. I love this song.

I'm sure there are more, but this is a pretty diverse sampling.

And a couple classical pieces I don't know the names to, offhand. It'll drive me nuts till I think of them..

I dont really know what sort of song is the specific one or two that do this for me.

Its really about the moment.

Sometimes its the music I always listen to. (which I promise none of you listen to.)

And sometimes its the music that comes on the radio on my way home from a night that is just a bit too much to handle.

At the moment theres nothing hitting me. But I know that almost all of the music I listen to is more important to me than almost all the music I used to listen to.

If I was gonna say a song off the top of my head, I would say "travelin' man." (if you can tell me who its by, then you get a little more credit from me than the usual music board member)

How could I have forgotten?! Jeff Buckley is always good. Something like "Lover you should have come Over" for when I'm thinking about anything that's gone wrong relationship wise.
You'd be suprised how often that is too. Also the Smashing Pumpkins aswell. Like 1979, or Tonight Tonight. yeah keep 'em comin people.

im finally not totally zoned out now.

* californication(red hot chili peppers)- anything with that "tripped out, mellow vibe" to it that i can just zone out to. when i hear stuff like this, its like its the only thing in the world.

*champagne supernova(oasis)- same as californication

*tonight, tonight (smashing pumpkins)- one the most beautiful songs ive ever heard.

*the entire Nirvana unplugged album- i love Kurt Cobain like a brother. i used to get really emotional whenever i saw him on television after he died. im just getting to where i can watch the unplugged show without moping around for the rest of the day. watching this concert is like...
i cant describe it.

I tend to associate myself deeply with songs I really like, so there a quite of lot of songs that mean a lot to me. Well, as I'm sure Jesus Chicken knows oh too well, Heaven Coming Down by the Tea Party means everything to me. Also by the Tea Party would be the Messenger. And Maybe Lullaby.

The other songs I'd add would be With Or Without You by U2, I listen to it every time I get depressed for some reason, Ask For Answers by Placebo, Asleep In Perfection by Augie March, of course Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls, and If You Could Only See, by Tonic. No, I'll not apologise for that last one.

There are a hell of a lot more, but they're the most important.

anything by Sublime has special meaning for me. there's no way i could pick just one song. the reason i love them is b/c they sing about just as many messed up things that happen as any other band, but they put a humerous spin on it.

for example, i feel like they're saying, "yeah, things are ****ed up, but i'll make it anyway. what are you supposed to do, sit around and cry about it?" i personally love laughing way too much. usually, when i'm talking about something really screwed that happened to me, i die laughing. things are a lot funnier in retrospect.

i used to listen to really dark, angry, music... & still do, sometimes. but i found that it made me feel more depressed if that's all i filled my head with.

there is one song that i'm really into right now: "Love Ridden" by Fiona Apple. it perfectly describes how i'm feeling about the break-up w/ my husband. it sort of says "i've done everything i could, i've tried so hard... & now it's time to let you go."

I usually listen to music while I write a poem or whatnot. It helps to get my escaped into my own world, and adds somewhat an edge to my feeling.

I like that song, too[Crocodile Rock]. Good song to get one in a at least somewhat cheery mood. I also like Candle In The Wind, that's a great song to use when trying to open some kind of sadness in my heart.

Anything Pink Floyd I love to listen to. Especially Comfortably Numb, that song just is so wandering, it makes you think about the past, and pain, and so on. Also Learning To Fly, Sorrow...basically any Pink Floyd song. Erm...yes. I don't really have just one song I listen to and turn to all of the time, I change what I listen to so often I really have to keep deversifying what I listen to, or else it gets old. Of, course there are exceptions...

a song that brings back a lot of memories is "One Day More" from Les Miserables. I could go into great detail, but I'll spare y'all the boredom. but yes, quite a very nice song, though I haven't gotten the opportunity to hear it for a while.

Taken Up and Oh L'Amour by Inside Out are some songs that remind me of.....multiple things from this year. I have a feeling I'll have them committed to memory for quite a while at least.

other than that, nothin' else comes to mind. but my mind's sortuv overcharged at the moment, so I might be able to think of some others later.
