First question the baby most definately the grandmothers dead soon enough and the teen blew his chances in life so the baby who would most likely grow up to get past high school and college. Excluding an annoy few years I would have caring for that baby.

2nd question: Yeah I would do it, if I got a loaded gun then I would use my last miliseconds to think how would my day go if I had won the 1 million dollars. And remind myself gambling is stupid. I doubt I could think all that up in time.
If I picked an unloaded gun then I'm 1 million dollars richer.

I'd choose the newborn baby. It has a whole new world of opportunity before it to be succesful and live a full life. The flunked out teen, though I'd feel sorry for him, isn't much of an opportunity to be a help for the community and the grandmother, though she is loved by her family very much, has only a short amount if time before she passes anyway.

I would choose the teenager out of empathy, I kno what it is like to screw up. Maybe the teen would have the renewed will to try even harder, I don't know, but there's every chance the baby would screw up in the exact same way.

And the grandma, hate to say it, has seen the world and lived a fulfiling life. I would give my effort to someone who hasn't.

As for the loaded gun. I wouldn't do It. Money is not worth that kind of risk, even if there were one million guns and only one was loaded. oh. :bluesweat I might take that chance :p

*reads post* Ok, nothing about the teen beig BAD, just flunking, he/she trying hard, though, she/he might be overwhelmed and try suicide...and be depressed...most just assumed that she/he is bad because she/he has bad grades. I, myself, used to get bad grades, not anymore, I tried, I'm not a bad person. And I'd be uberly ticked if someone chose not to save my life because of bad grades. The baby might grow up to be a crook...the teen might too, but, yeah...and the grandma is going to die soon anyways. :cross: Though the baby has a loving family, so, chances are, it won't be a crook...so...and granma might be rich...I guess I couldn't deicde...

good god, how could any of you let a baby die?!?
Agreed, The baby is a baby and thust just in the gran scheme of things the baby will be able to devote more years to society than the other two. The baby is the obvious choice on so many different levels.

as for the second question, Although I might want to risk it for a million dollers I dont believe taht I could bring myself to doing it.

I think I'd save the baby... just cuz... it's so little and helpless... like a dog or something....

and I 'd pick yes to the gun!!! Some ppl might not like that i did that, but hey! A million dollars could do a lot of stuff... *thinks of all her dreams coming true*

You can't assume anything not stated explicitly in a hypothetical question. For all you know, the loving families may not be around at the time.

I'd save them all!!! c'mon...u could just knock out the bad guy and get the rest outta there!! Or u could pull some random stunt and save them all and run away...like...
oh yeah.. I can see it now.. a volcano has just erupted, the grandma and teenager are knocked out, and you can only carry one of them away from the lava. You don't have a car, your only option is to run away...

and you're gonna kill the bad guy..

..the question never actually said there was a bad guy, and you don't have the option to save all three, no matter how much you may want to.

As for me, I'd have a hard time choosing.

To be honest I can't stand the whole "I'd not save the baby/teenager/grandma because I can't stand them" attitude. That's not any good reason to condemn someone to die so someone else can live.

I don't really know who I'd save.. but I'm going with the baby.. purely because there's much more potential in there. Yes, the teenager could end up doing something.. but it's more likely that they'll be doing something in a fast food place than anything decent. And the grandmother only has limited time left anyway.

As for the gun.. no I wouldn't.

I wouldn't do it if there were a hundred guns, and one was loaded. Purely because it's not really worth it.. I mean, what do you really get from it?.. Money.. yeah.. but all that money brings is a desire for more, and a fake, temporary feeling of having found what you need to make you happy, until you need more..

I'd rather do without that much money

I'd have a hard time choosing too, though I would narrow my choices to the younger two. I know it sounds maen but the grandmother has already had a life and affected her world. The baby hasn't had a chance and the teenager has much potential.
It's hard yes.....but I suppose one day we might have to answer
