A long time ago, when the earth was covered in water with no land what so ever. There was a great war between 4 "Jewel" Elements: Spirit and Life v.s. Chaos and Death. Spirit and Life won and captured their enemies in Very Large Cyrsalis' sent them to diferent planets and shattered the crysalis'. Fortunatly, Death was sent to a planet near by a black hole and was never found again. But, Chaos... Chaos was sent to Earth.
-=Year 2001=-
A couple kids find elemental powers and use them to stop criminals.
-=Year 2003=-
Chaos has regained life and is planning destruction. Starting by killing those who the Elements love.

OOC: Wow O-o The whole city hmm? What a way to wake up in the morning O_o!

Quietly looking up at the raging inferno that was her house, Rein trembled. Had she done this? In some nightmare in the middle of the night, had she destroyed what little family she had left? No... She wouldn't do that... Even by accident she couldn't kill her mother.
Fire engine sirens screamed in her ears, deafening her. Words, alien from her native tongue, passed her by on some invisible wind. She turned away - and decided on something. Whoever caused this, even if it be her herself, they were going to pay.
Opening her palm before her she let off a small golden spark. Then she closed her hand around it again, snuffing it out. Much like she had just been snuffed out.

Rein: It begins...

Tao stood, shocked, in front of his fromer home. The dojo burned, the plastic mats giving off an acrid scent that caused his eyes to water. He was only able to grab a few clothes and Zi, before the flames became too hot.
"Grandfather..."
Zi started to sob, silently, unable to express her thoughts in words.
Tao snarled at the hand fate had dealt. He turned his face to the heavens and simply screamed, an animalistic cry of rage and sadness, an emotion so strong he couldn't even speak. A bolt of lighning arced across the sky, and thunder rumbled. The elements heard his cry, and gave their condolences how they could. Tao snapped his eyes open as soon as he heard a ringing. He searched the clothes he had grabbed and found his cell phone in a pocket.
Tao: I know, Wind. It happened here too. I'll be there soon.
Tao picked up his sister and led her towards Wind's home.
Someone would pay.

Valentyne ran down the hall. "Grandma--where are you?" she yelled, dragging her bag of clothes and things. She could see that the other half of the hall was in flames and quickly spreading. She bowed her head for a second, letting a few tears fall down her face before she ran out of the house. Her cell phone rang after she escaped.

"I'm coming in a minute." she spoke, hanging up the phone quickly. She stood in front of the house a few minutes then ran towards Wind's house quickly, putting her snake around her neck and her cat following her.

Rion woke up, when something large and heavy fell on his stomach, knocking the breathe out of him. Rion eyes opened quickly to see a large ceiling beam had fallen on him which to his utter surprise was on fire. Quickly he lifted it off of him, sucking air through his teeth and tongue as the fire burned his hands. He slid out from under it letting it fall on his bed after him. Luckily he hadn't caught fire, though the palms of his hands and fingers stung, he spit on them trying to cool them off, it only succeeded on making them sting more. Rion looked around, almost everything was on fire, gasping for air he grabbed his backpack, which he stuffed with favorite clothing and his hoopak he had made, the end stuck out of his backpack alittle, then putting on his backpack(which dwarfed him) he ran out his door and down the stairs, in the kitchen he let Hawk(his Irish Wolfhound he had, before the crash two years before) out of his enormous crate. Rion himself being only five feet stood only head or so taller than him. Running outside, Rion knew he was the only one to survive, somehow he just knew. He bowed his head in reverence, he wasn't reallly sorry for the building, just for his foster parents. Sniffing he looked up, he gasped almost every where there was fire! He stumbled backwards into the street, trees, houses, even some people. Rion gaped in surprise, then he heard a voice in the wind, it sounded like Max's voice, telling him to come. Rion whistled for Hawk and set off down the street still in his pajamas, at a fast run, he didn't look it but his short legs could move really fast.

Everyone gathers at Maytchell park because the wind's house burnt down

Max: We have to go in the woods. Whatever we're fighting is too strong right now.

Tao: I can't leave Zi behind.

Rion: Than take her with you.

Tao: Its to dangerous.

Max: Yes... but is it as dangerous as leaving her here?

Rein: Lets go.

They head to Dramey Forest in hopes of power, revenge and relaxation

"Hey! Wait for me!" they turned to see Bremma heading for them limping a bit.

"Are you alright?" Max asked.

"As much as I can be from getting hit by fire." she said, her hair visibly singed and a burnonher leg. "Everyone in my house died... except for the cat, but she wouldn't come with me."

"I know. it happened to all of us." Rein replied. "Come on, lets get to the forest and figure out what to do."

The forest was dark at this time of night. An orange glow trickled through the branches as their town continued to burn. And Rein, the fire elemental among them, was so angry she couldn't stand it. That someone would use her precious flame to destroy those she loved and held dear. To destroy the family of her friends. She would take this fight right to the very doors of Chaos if she needed to. But she WOULD NOT let this destruction continue. She looked around her small circle of friends and spoke, her voice thick with a unmistakable German accent. Everyone listened, as Rein did not often speak unless it was something worth listening to.

Rein: I think we are being hunted. I do not like being prey for the Devil, so I think we need to take this fight back where it came from. We need a plan. And we need it quickly.

She cast her green gaze about those assembled, her gaze softening slightly. Everyone was quiet for a few moments. But the same question was on everyone's mind. Where on earth should you take a fight with Chaos itself?

Max: You better put something on that leg Bremma. Your falling behind.

Rion: Rein's right we need a plan

Max: Okay fine. Let's just all go and fight Chaos, HECK while we're at it let's get everyone else killed with us.:nope:

Everyone was shocked at the anger in Max's voice, he never usually yells.

Max: sorry... let's set camp for the night. We're far away from the city so no one will come and get us.

Tao: We better have gaurd duty through the night just in case.

Valentyne: Alright, Tao. YOu just volounteered for the first half of the night.

Max: I'll go the rest of the night after Tao. Bremma, are you sure you're gonna be ok?

Bremma: I just need some rest.

"Ill wrap it when we make camp." she said, looking aroiund as she limped along after them at a reasonable speed. 'What the hell can we do?' Bremma pondered as she walked. 'A handful of kids who by chance have some special powers... against some unknown force called Chaos..' she sighed softly, keeping her eyes open for a reasonable camping site. "You all know.." he said, just remembering herslef, "if we need, I COULD make a camping spot.." she figured just making a flat plane of earth moving some trees out of the way would work.

OOC: Bremma who said "You all know..","if we need, I COULD make a camping spot.."... i figured it was u but it said "he" said it so im not sure if thats just a typo.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Max: Alright let's do that than. Everyone, let's get to work. Rein and Bremma can make a fire.Valentyne could you collect some food?Rion and I will make the shelter..Um.. Zi you can watch and help Valentyne or stay with Tao. OH YA! Tao, you can Collect Logs and sticks for the fire and shelter. There sound good?

Valentyne: What makes you think you can boss us around and tell us what to do?

Max: I don't see anyone else leading the group.

everyone starts off working

Valentyne 'humphed', petting Raven, her boa, around her neck. She put Keilala, her cat, down and walked towards Zi. "Hey, can you help me out?" she asked sharply, still angered that someone had instructed her about going to get the food. Zi nodded, walking with her in search of food.

Leaning down, Rein picked up a stray twig from the ground. She balled it in her fist, and when she opened it again, a spark started to creep up the twig. Like some curious new-born creature. She lifted her gaze and looked about.

Rein: *quietly* I think we're finished Bremma. I just need some wood for this thing.

She kicked through the undergrowth for a few moments before settling on a reasonably dry branch to keep her flame alive until more wood was found. After she had done that, she turned to Bremma.

Rein: That leg isn't going to bandage itself. I haven't got anything damp to hand... *takes off her loose shirt and rips it into several large strips and bandages Bremma's burnt leg as best she can* But that should keep the germs out of it for now...

Tao darted off into the woods, looking for anything dry and wooden. He grabbed anything he could use. A lone tear found its way across his face.
"Why...why me...why do I have to be this!?" Tao roared, lightning crackling in his eyes, his voice rumbling like thunder. He yelled and punched a tree, breaking of shards of bark. Another yell, and again bark flew. He repeatedly punched the tree, working out his anger, until he collapsed to the ground, sobbing.
"Grandpa! WHY!?"
He held his bloodied hands, knuckles cracked from punching the trees, to his face.
"Poor little baby."
Tao snapped his eyes open and looked for the user of the voice. That person might've just sealed their fate. Then he saw him.
"Myo..."
"The very same, brother." Myo Zhou, Tao's older brother, stood in front of Tao, hand across his chest, his hair mussed, dressed in his robes.
"Why aren't you dead?"
"I escaped, Kyodai-san. Aren't you glad to see me?" Myo's words dripped with sarcasm.
"Not really, Niisan. I dragged Zi out of that burning house! Where were you?! Off fighting!? Womanizing you lecherous scum!?"
"We need not use such harsh words, brother," malice dripped from each sylable, a lethal acidic toxin, creating a cloud of tension. "Why can't we just be happy?"
"Because you were never my brother." Tao stood, in a fighting position. "You always hated me and Zi, because you thought I was a threat. You hated me because of...because of this!" Tao caused lightning to coarse over his hand. "You hate me because I'm a threat. You hate me because I'm better, more powerful."
"Without that thunder you'd be nothing!" Myo finally lost his composer.
"No, I've never been nothing, except to you! I've never been your brother, and you've never been mine!"
The two boys stood, glaring aat eachother for all their worth.
"How's that wood coming Tao," Max yelled.
"I'll be back, Kyodai-san. And next time, you will die!"
Myo dissapeared into the shadows, as Tao gathered up his wood and walked back to camp.
"Who were you yelling at?" Rein asked.
"No one...no one at all."

Rion had tried to help Max make a shelter, but all he succceeded in doing was getting tangled in the line and knocking down the shelter twice, and it didn't help with Hawk following him around trying to lick his face.
So Max humphed and told Rion to go do something else. A little while later with Hawk tied securely to a tree, and his backpack on the ground, Rion went off and dressed into his regular clothes, baggy black pants, a light blue long sleeved shirt that was to small and a little tight, then his white and black vest.

He came back and found a shelter erected, carefully stepping around it, he looked in the entrance it was kind off small and he hated being cramped so.... Rion decided to find a nice spot in a tree. Looking round he saw a good one over shadowing the shelter, quick as a squirrel he climbed up it, and found a good spot, makeing sure it was comfortable, he decided to go find food also, a bird might be nice.

With his wrapped hands he climbed the tree searching for a good spot. Finding one he sat down and waited patiently for a bird to land, surprisingly it didn't take long. Slowly he crept towardsd the bird perched, then he pounced, barely catching the bird at all, by the tip of it's wing. As he fell he caught hold of a lower branch and hung on, the bird screeching and pecking his fingers. Proud of himself he killed the bird and then headed down the tree to tell Max he was sleeping in the tree and, but mainly show them he wasn't all useless.

Finally it gets dark out and everyone returns to the camp site to rest around the fire and talk and tell stories to cheer everyone up
Max: Good story Bremma.
Valentyne: Ya good one!
Max: I'm gonna go out to get some more fuel for the fire, i'll be back soon.
Rion: Alright.
Max wonderes off far away from the site and stumbles upon some fuel
Max: Alright I got some.... what the.
Max sees a small cave and gathers everyone and brings them to it
Bremma: What's in there?
Rion: Let's check it out.
Max: Or not.
Tao: Maybe, we should send 2 people in to check it out first.
Rion: I'll go in!
everyone looks around seeing no other volounteers
Rion: Am I really that bad?
everyone laughs
Valentyne: Hahaha. Nah! I'll go with ya!

Rion smiled he loved doing interesting things new and exciting, like being one of the first to explore a dark cave. He clanced at Valentyne, who looked a little like she didn't want to go all that much but still curious. Rion figured she was ready.

Rion: Welp, let's go! *starts skipping towards the entrance whistling a little tune he'd made up*

Valentyne: O.K. I guess, but shouldn't we wait till light, you know morning till we can see?

Rion stopped and looked, pondering this,

Bremma: She's right, you won't be able to see anything right now so what's the use, let's wait till morning.

Rion slumped his shoulders alittle then turned and shuffled back towards them, finally he'd found something to interesting to do, and now he had to wait till morning. He was extremly full of curiousity, which almost always took place of his place of fear, even in life and death situations. So his hope alittle dimmed his curiousity stronger, he walked back to them. Then a thought came into his head he could explore the area around camp. This cheered him up and he started skipping once again behind his friends. Stopping every once in a while to pick up a rock or leaf that catched his eye.

Looking up, Rein watched Rion skipping off. She got absently to her feet, shaking her head.

Rein: *gently* Idiot... How can he run off exploring after this has just happened...? *pauses* I'm going after him. Someone needs to make sure he doesn't kill himself on a random twig or leaf.

Max: You've got a point, we don't need to lose anyone just yet. *makes to stand* I'll come with you.

Rein: *harassed, like a mother after a stray child* Nein... I'll go yell for him to come back. He can't have gone far.

Everyone else gathered seems to take this as fact and they let Rein go down the path Rion had just taken. The darkness hemmed in on her, and she held one hand aloft like a torch, her eyes scanning the dim darkness ahead with its light.

Rein: Rion? C'mon, we don't need this right now!

The only response was the silence.

Rein: Rion?!

For a moment, there was nothing. Then suddenly a bloodcurdling yell split the silence...

Rion: AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Swearing harshly under her breath, Rein's hands burst into flame as she ran hard for the source of the voice. But as she drew nearer, the shadow seemed to grow thicker around her feet and in the branches of the trees around her. Or was this just doubt growing in her mind?

Rein: I'M COMING RION!!

"Shes gonna need help... I'll be back." Bremma ran after Rein, a path of flat earth forming before her. She saw shadows surrounding Rein. "Rein!!! Watch out! Those shadows are gonna grab you!"

"I'll be careful! You go back!" she called.

"Nuh-uh! Im gonna help." She concentrated and made the path flatten before Rein. "Come on, let's find out what happened to him."

At first Rion was frightened and let out a yell, which ended short as something squeezed his thoart. A few minutes later, curiousity replaced it. Rion had noticed that the only thing that seemed to be around him was darkness, and that some of it was darker including the part holding his hands, feet, and around his neck. So he decided to experiment a little, turning his head to a especially dark part, he opened his mouth and bit down as hard as he could, surprised, his jaw closed on something solid, biting harder he heard a hiss, and felt something whack his head heavily. Rion let go quickly and looked around and saw blood in a dark place. Suddenly he felt a gale of blows hit him on the head, in his stomach and back, and he noticed that they felt like kicks.

Rion: Max! Rein! Tao! Valentyne! Bremma! Help!

Trying to get away he backed away, but they surrounded him, he finally stopped struggling to get away, but lay still almost about to black out. They stopped, seeming to notice he was not fighting any more. Then something lifted him against a tree trunk, he felt ropes tie him against it, he saw the shadows go into the trees around him, he also felt blood streaming down his face, but all was quiet. Rion's head swam, but he stayed concious, and thought of how to escape, then remembered that he had a knife in his pants pocket just where his hand was. Lifting it out of his pocket, he flipped it open and began to saw on the ropes, silently trying not to move to much because it hurt to move and not to draw attention.

Rion: I hope the others are doing alright.

With a brief nod, Rein acknowledged Bremma's help. Enough people had died tonight, Rion didn't need to be another. Rein held out her hands into the shadow, and was surprised to see it almost flinch back from her firey touch. Her fingertips brushed something solid.

Bremma: Hey, what is it?

Rein: I don't know. Be on your guard...

Rein stepped forward this time, no longer blindly, but cautiously. Rion had fallen quiet. She feared for his safety.
Suddenly, with an impact that winded her, she was thrown from the path. A shrill scream accompanied her landing, as she grabbed onto the shadow that had impacted her so suddenly. She struggled to sit, aware of the darkness around her, closing in on her.

Rein: *desperately* Bremma! It's solid! You can hurt it!

With a grunt she pushed herself to her feet, intent on frying the shadow that dared to knock her down...

"Alright, watch your step Rein!" Bremma got into a more steady stance, focusing hard. As she did, the ground shook slightly as points of hard rock began to poke out of the ground. She grunted then let out a yell, 4ft spikes of jagged bedrock peirced the Shadow's form, hindering its movement. She gasped slightly for air, then focused again, a pile of rocks forming next to her. She grabbed htem and started pelting the shadow with it. "Alright Rein! Hit it hard!!"

Rion was finally free, the ropes fell silently around him. He could have danced with glee and almost did, but looked around and noticed that all the shadows were gone. Where did they go? Then Rion jumped as he heard a scream, he ran off in that direction and soon came upon Bremma and Rein fighting a huge host of shadows. Quickly Rion pulled out another knife he had stored in his pockets, a bigger knife and came charging through the trees slashing at every moving shadow, he noticed that they did bleed. Bremma jumped as she saw him crashing through,

Rion: What are ya' doing? Keep hitting them!

Rion yelled at her, as a shadow came between him and her, he swung his knife wildly at it, watching where blood came to guide his swings. Suddenly he could see Bremma again, but he could not see Rein though he noticed a dark circle that Bremma was whacking at, Rion looked at the ground and kept seeing glimpes of clothes so Rion jumped beside Bremma

Rion: Rein in there?

he asked pointing to the shadowy circle,

Bremma: Yes

Rion needn't here anymore, he swung more viciously, intent on reaching Rein. Suddenly out of nowhere a force hit his face, temporarly blinded and knocked sensless he fell to the ground, then his vision came back and he saw nothing but a shadowy wall around him.

Rion: Noooo!

He wasn't going to be trapped or taken away anymore, suddenly he did not feel fear or curiosity but, anger. He felt flow through him giving him strength. he stood up and charged the wall, felt it give way, he charged through another wall and saw Bremma, but he couldn't stop the anger he yelled and launched himself upon the shadows, he felt them try to reach him, to stop him, but he was beyond stopping. The being, as it now appeared to be only one creature they were fighting, left Rein and pounced on Rion. Suddenly, Rein lunged forward, her hands a sea of fireworks in the darkness, and grabbed onto the beast hard, it's skin feeling tough and rubbery to the touch. With a squeal it lashed back, taking them all off their feet. But Rion was alight with anger. He had lost all awareness of what was happening, and was obsessed with only the thought of destroying the shadow. He had picked himself up and was continuing to slash with his knife. It would do no good. Rein could see that. And Rion's ice abilities couldn't be seen to help in the short-term.

Rein: Schisse! Just get down!

With a yell she let off heat. So much heat her hands burned. And so did the shadow. Everything dimmed out around her as she concentrated on only one thing. Destruction. She loved destruction. She loved to see these things burn. She knew it was wrong, to like destruction. But it was a fact. And she didn't care. And this destruction was justified, it was to protect those she loved.
With a squeal of pain the shadow lurched away into the night, having not expected such immense resistance. That's not what its master had promised. But it would come back.
Watching it leave, Rein swooned a little, collapsing sideways onto a tree beside her, feeling its rough bark against burnt and numb fingertips. She watched as the thing reeled in the sky, wondering whether it was to run away, or swing back round to finish them off. Such an event would certainly be the death of her...

And Shadows aren't easily disgarded except by greater darkness...

Tao leapt through the air, his Ninja-to drawn as he sliced through part of the Shadow, blood shining in the gloom. The Shadow got quickly away as Tao dropped to the ground. He flicked the blood away with a shiburi motion before returning the blade to it's sheathe. He looked around. The Shadow had done some damage. Rein was laying against a tree, looking...exhausted?
Bremma had suffered the most, gasping for breath because she used so much energy before her injury healed. Red marks shone on Rion from the ropes that had tied him up.
Tao watched the Shadow dart across the sky, blocking stars as it went. It would come back. Shadows always did.
He snarled, thinking of his meeting with Myo. Could he be involved?
Tao looked around for Zi. Worry flooded him, now that he realized she had been in danger. He saw a strand of purple hair whip out from behind a rock, and he darted over. She was crouched down, in a fetal position, shivering. He hugged her close. The rest tended to the damage.
Max: Let's get back to camp. We need to get prepared incase that...that thing comes back.
The rest murmured in agreement. Tao scooped up his little sister and carried her back to camp. He never should have brought her into this. But he had, and now he had to take care of her.
This fight would be worse than any he had ever been in.
