Frankie Posted February 2, 2003 Share Posted February 2, 2003 Ok i need some help i searched the net got nothing i asked friends they dident know... now i turn to the boards.... i will not name names i will not give much detail but i need some serious help ----------------------- I have this friend ..... this friend is in a very bad home situation... AND im not sure what the legal age is in that state my friend lives in kansas and i plan to go get my friend but im waiting to its legal i need to know what the legal age is there when someone is legal to move out of home with out getting in trouble for running away legal for someone to help with otu being accused of kidnapping anyone... can some help me.... does anyone know? Sheltering a runaway; report required; child not taken into custody, when. (a) If a person provides shelter to a child whom the person knows is a runaway, such person shall report the child's location either to a law enforcement agency or to the child's parent or other custodian. (b) If a person reports a runaway's location to a law enforcement agency pursuant to subsection (a) and a law enforcement officer of the agency has reasonable grounds to believe that it is in the child's best interests, the child may be allowed to remain in the place where shelter is being provided, in the absence of a court order to the contrary. If the child is allowed to so remain, the law enforcement agency shall promptly notify the department of social and rehabilitation services of the child's location and circumstances. (c) This section shall be part of and supplemental to the Kansas code for care of children. ...."
