Witnessing Serious Crimes!

Well, yesterday i was in town with my mum and dad by my new fone for my birthday (Feb 8th, Samsung T100 i love it! ^_^). Anyway, we were driving down a street called Saltmarket in Glasgow, near the Gorbels. Let's just say, it isn't the "nicest" place to live. So we stopped at a set of traffic lights and i was playing with my new fone when my mum said:

"Here Stewart (My Dad) what's that boy doing over there?"

I raised my head to see a 15 year old boy, about 5'5, swinging this yellow thing. My mum continued:

"Is that a workie?" (A workman, working on a building or so on)

My dad then says:

"F*ck sake! He's smashin that window in!"

By this time we were driving by him, and...HE HAD A 5 FOOT AXE!! He was ponding away at a jewlers window and grabbed what he could. We foned the police and they wer there in a matter of seconds, but by that time he was away. The scary thing was, he nearly hit an old woman, who ran by him to cross the road to get away from him. The axe missed her by inches. So i was wondering, have you seen anything like this, i couldn't believe it, it was broad day light 1 in the afternoon. What do you think of this? And have you seen anything like it?

honey, if you lived where i do, you'd have about 5 heart attacks a day.

the worst thing recently was when i was hanging next to brook road at about 11 at night & a bunch of shots rang out. we saw an SUV tearing off out of the strip club. when we got there, we saw a guy with the top of his head completely gone lying in the parking lot. it took about 30 seconds for a dozen cop cars to pull up (the police station is right down the street). it was over a bad coke deal, i believe.

that was a couple months ago. you get used to it.

On my way back from virginia I was passing through atlanta on I-85.

This guy driving an audi TT cut me off hardcore and just about hit me. Normally Im a passive guy, but this time I lost it to some extent and flicked the fella off. (big mistake, although he deserved it, still a mistake on my behalf.)

This guy turns around in his car, looks at my bro and I, then flicks us off and turns back around. (it would have been great if thats where it ended)

After that, the dude slammed his brakes to the point of skidding, I did the same to avoid the accident and then we ended up sitting there... just sitting in the middle of a highway that has a 70 mph speed limit and everyone is going 80.

People are flying around me and fishtailing. So the guy starts to move again and right as I start again, he stops dead again.

Slowly we pick up speed and I try to get out from behind him, switching lanes and what not.

He cuts into the same lane as me and stays in front of me. The whole time we are going really slow. All the while people are dodging us for their lives.

Eventually we are back up to highway speeds, but Im not staying behind this jerk. So when I got my chance...

2 cars pass on my left riding on each others butts.

I let the first one pass and then the second, that instint while the second car is passing him and next to him, I switch into the other lane behind those two.

Eventually he sees this happening and tries to take aggressive manuevers once more, but this time I was ready. My camry raced it gran turismo style and put up the most amazing display of defensive driving on the eisenhower interstate system to date. His attempts to get in front of me fail and I lost him to the rear.

Eventually I took my exit and he took his, but since that day I never have been worried about anything while driving. Now when Im on the highway Ive got nerves of steal and the sense to take advatage of that by being curtius and never tail gating another driver. Plus, when others ride my butt, it has no effect, its just impossible to freak someone out after something like what I went through.

So, to get to the point of the thread...

I believe what that jerk did was attempted vehicular homicide.

Hey Lady Mac, that's why i am happy to say that Guns are banned in Scotland after the Dumblane tragedy (a pyscho busted into a nursery and shot dead little 5 year olds.) So yeah, i know that the axe dude is nothing compared to some, but it was just an example that got the whole idea of this thread going ;).

Thankfully i have never witnessed a crime. Although i see on the news all the crimse that do happen and i think to myself "Why do people do things like this?? Do they ever think of the victim's family??" But i guess violence is bred into us. Everyone has a violent side in them. I mean its human nature. But still, to kill an innocent person in cold blood, its just pure evil.

Its really rather depressing how dark the world is, but thats just the way humans are. We are evil and sinful by nature, and it can't be helped, but yes, killing in cold blood is going to be one of the darkest things ever. All we can do is true ourselves not to stoop down to criminal level, and do our best to stop others from it. Oh well though...life is just that way. Oh and nice to meet you all, I'm new here.

Yes. There was a bad cat fight last night at my job. Like always, it was over a guy. Big shock.

The worst crime around my way lately involved someone being shot in the face with a shotgun over five ounces of weed. The dealer that was killed was currently a senior at my former high school. He was supposedly a gifted track runner.

It's hard to feel sorry for a known drug pusher though.

Yikes. ><
Around 12:40am last night, my dad got a call on his cell phone from a friend in Korea who we hadn't talked to for a while. He said he was just getting out of the hospital, and my dad was pretty shocked. He had been stabbed seven times in a parking lot, before getting his credit card and money stolen. He survived because he wasn't stabbed anywhere critical. I was really, really shocked. He had been bleeding badly for about 10-15 minutes, before someone called the police. I was really scared because it had been one of our best family friends...

We were on holidays driving down past the supermarket and what do you know, a kid that looked to be about 14, kicked one of the windows in. He just walked off like nothing happened, and then a police car drove by and didn't see a thing.

Cops these days....meh.

I've got knife scars along my back when some drunk guy wanted money I wasn't prepared to give him. But hey, I was twelve at the time, how was I supposed to know better?

This is Australia. When serious crimes happen here, they either get laughed off, have the blame passed around until the issue is forgotten, or are incompetantly handled. Mainly because no one ever sees a thing. I have two theories for that. Either criminals here are smarter than everywhere else, or that not many crimes get commited in pubs, thus are not seen. I have a feeling the second one would be more correct.

if you consider stealing £800 - ish over about a month, from a workplace to be worthy of a half-serious crime, let's just say I'm step beyond witnessing..

let's also say the £800 is back in the company's hands, and the guy commiting the crime got "dismissed", and never figured out why he took the damn money

Well, I've seen loads of people smoking drugs out in the open, so much in fact, that it's not really an issue for me. If I'm alone, I get offered drugs by random people in the street, and I once got offered prostitution by a carnival slag! I was scared.
I once saw people shoplifting, but agian, it's not an issue, becuase I see this stuff so much. I remember a while back, I was in France, when I was about 7, and this boy had got smacked in the eye, and he was bleeding, with loads of people surrounding him. I was scared, so I ran away. Too much running!

Well everyday on the bus home i am inhaling Cannabis smoke and even my mum knows that when i come off the bus and stink of Hash, then it isn't me but the junkies up the back of the bus. My friend was grabbed by a junkie the other day becuase she looked at her, i was about to say something when she sat downand my friend ran down the stairs, and so did everyone else except from me and my friend! She was swearing every second word and everyone ran away she said that if anyone looked at her she would kill them, she was a bearing a knife at the time. I turned around and looked at her and she just snarled, she was just doing that to people smaller than her, she knew that ema nd my friend could easily take her so she just snarled, it is ****ing sad that they will stab a little 12 year old and not touch a 14 year old that would kick their as*. I also have been offered prostitution, my friends were saying go for it!!! I just said "Naw yer awright" and walked away, she then ran to the closest male. This world has it's advantages such as technolygy and so on, but it has very serious moral disadvantages.
