Guest Musahi
:D Ikaruga is coming to America. It was originally for the Dreamcast but was never brought over to the U.S. Now it is, but on the Gamecube. Ikaruga is a 2D overhead shooter, that was named "Best Japanese Import of 2002" by Gamespot. Well the graphics are 3D but the actual movement is 2D. Another great thing about this game is the option of 2 player Co-op mode. This is one of the first shooters with co-op mode ever. In short, it looks beautiful and supposedly plays beautiful as well. Here are some screens from Gamespot. Blade
The game looks pretty good. I would go out and buy it but there are a few other games that i would like to get first. Regards Blade:naughty:
Turkey
I casn't believe you talked about the "puzzle-ish" aspect of the game. While I don't know exactly how it works, it seems that each monster requires a specific blaster color to be destroyed.
Semjaza
I have this game on Dreamcast. I'll try to explain how it works. Your ship has two colors to it. A light, and a dark. The same goes for all of the enemies on screen. They differ in size, strength and appearance, but they both are either light or dark. Dark shoots dark shots (a shade of black and red) and light shoots light shots (a shade of white and blue). When you are dark you can absorb dark shots, but light shots will kill you. The same goes for the opposite. There is a meter on the left of the screen, and when you absorb a shot it starts to fill up. You can then press another button that will shoot out a homing blast, so there is a good reason to absorb what you can. Now obviously, that means light shots will destroy your dark ship and dark shots will destroy your light ship. So why would you want to go against a light ship when yours is dark? Because your black ships do twice as much damage to the light ships. The opposites are weaknesses. The game is quite pretty too. It's fully 3D, but when you're actually playing you'll barely notice. Looks like a great 2D game. There are a lot of extra modes and some nice music as well. The two player mode isn't really any more cooperative than any other 2 player mode in a shooter... Other than you'll have to communicate what you're shooting at if you want to make combos (the game has a combo system, you have to shoot 3 of one color in a row and then 3 of the same or the other color... it adds up). You also cannot be in the same place at the same time and will wind up pushing eachother's ships. Sorry I had to repeat light and dark so much, but it's hard to explain how it works without getting like that heh. Quite a good game, and one of the better shoots available.
