Anime Clubs in Schools

My friend's school recently got an anime club, but he told me that when he went there, no one had even heard of Evangelion. So, naturally he stopped going. I'm guessing that these people were only accustomed to Dragonball Z and Gundam or something.

Luckily, my school has had an anime club the whole time I've been there. I barely ever need to bring anime, and most people have heard of rare animes, so I really enjoy it. I have made tons of friends, and we have pizza every time we go there ($1 a slice). The anime is usually good, but if it's really bad, I can take out my Cowboy Bebop or Trigun DVDs. Unfortunately, I do get lots of people who want to borrow my DVDs. -__-

As for whether they should be allowed in schools, I don't see why not. It's just another extra-curicular activity, like if the school organizes a club for people playing card games. The only reason that a school shouldn't have an anime club depends on the people who run them/ participate in them. If these people are constantly loud, have a bad reputation, and leave a mess everywhere they go, then they shouldn't be allowed to have the club. My club aparently has a slightly bad reputation, so it's kind of hard to find a teacher sponsor, but it's really not as bad as everyone thinks, and once we get a teacher it's not a problem.

We had school group pics for the yearbook yesterday as well. Aparently, our anime club isn't official, because they never called us. Of course, I got a lot of **** last year when my pic ended up in the yearbook under the anime club, but I'm not going to take it even if it does happen to show up.

ours was decent compared to some of the stories i am hearing around here. We had a good sponsor who knew what he was talking about and good members who knew their stuff. In fact we never showed DBZ.
Yeah, we've never been that desperate to watch DBZ either. We've always watched decent anime, either subbed or dubbed, that at the time hadn't been shown on Cartoon Network. Every once in a while we'd talk about DBZ and others, but not necessarily the one on Toonami - DBZ in general. But even this is rare, lol.
