For me I would like to see Yu-Gi-Oh monsters in i more than Pokemon. Imagine using the Dark Magician with the Dark magic attack or the Summon Skull instead of Picachu. Sure, they could include some of the Pokemon, but I would like to see some Duel monsters in it as well. Since nintendo is gonna have a Yu-Gi-Oh game soon, I'm hoping that they will come up with an idea for using Yu-Gi-Oh monsters in the next Super Smash Bros.

I really, really, really doubt that is ever going to happen. Why? Because the Yu-Gi-Oh games aren't made by Nintendo, meaning that Nintendo doesn't have rights to the characters.

As for some ideas for the next SSB game, I think that they should improve the AI of the CPU characters, and tone down the amount of cheap things they can do. They should also include the Saffron City level from the original. Out of all the levels from both the games, it's still my favorite.

For new characters, hmm... I dunno, actually. I think they've used pretty much all the good Nintendo characters in SSBM. Unless they can manage to get the rights to use other characters, I don't think there's going to be much expansion in the selection of characters. Who knows, though?

I think they should put in the Super Mario Brothers stage from the first one. I don't remember what it's called, so I'll put down the level that you have to unlock, lol. As for new charecters, there was talk for a while of Sonic being in the next one, but I've recently heard a rumor the next Sonic game would be for PS2, so that wouldn't happen then. Of course, if Nintendo buys Capcom, they can always have Megaman, right? I would like to get rid of some charecters though, like Pichu. Honestly, who's bright idea was it to put him in the game. Falco, too, cause he plays almost exactly as Fox. I would also like the level limit to go up to 10, because sure, the comp's cheap, but after a while, you get used to it. The last thing (but most important) would be to make it online. Even just an exact remake of SSBM but with online play would be nice. Of course, something I want almost more than online play, is a GBA version. Even just a port of the origianal to GBA would be nice.

Yeah, forgot to mention online play. That'd be the best.

I wouldn't want one on the GBA, though, because there's not enough buttons for it. Sure, you have A and B for normal and special attacks, R for grab, and L for shield, but that doesn't leave one for jump! I absolutely cannot stand using up on the control stick to jump in SSB/SSBM, because it just seems like you don't get as much control with your jumps doing it that way.

They really should have put four face buttons on the GBA. It would've been so awesome to have a portable SSB game. Not to mention making other games easier to play, especially some SNES ports.

I would want to make some of the moves harder to pull off so people can't just come round your house, pick up the controller, and kick your butt with cheap moves. That really annoys me that people can do that.

Also, maybe add some more characters from some more recent games, like E.Gadd from Luigi's Mansion/Super Mario Sunshine, he would be a pretty funny character to be.

Maybe a mode in which you could play in a certain game series, like Super Mario, Donkey Kong or Zelda, and pick some characters from those games (Toad, Diddy Kong, Malon [Breko would like that], etc) and it should be like the style of Adventure Mode from SSB:M.

You're not going to see online play, I don't think. Unless it's broadband only (and it probably wouldn't be), it's unlikely. The game runs too quickly and would be ruined by even a hint of lag.

There are a few little features that might make the game a bit more interesting though.

For example, a level building tool would be fantastic. Of course, it seems like the last thing Nintendo would actually include in the game. But, it'd be cool.

I mean, you know...using basic objects to build levels, adding water...adding lights...maybe even painting your own textures on the walls. ^_^

Also, I'd really like to see more "fluid" levels. We saw a bit more of that in SSBM but most of it was non functional.

For example, think about the Rainbow Ride level...the way it moved around and essentially changed your battle as it moved and changed.

I'm thinking something like that but more in-depth. I don't really know how you could do it though; I'm too brain dead to come up with an idea. lol

Anyway, what about a tag-team system? As in, tag teams for two on two battles. So you'd all fight as individuals, but two players could team up (in their respective team) and perform extra moves by working together. *shrug*

I can't really think of what else they can do to change the game...I felt that SSBM was very similar to the first. The main thing I think is just adding more moves to add variety. But there are lots of peripheral things you can always add I guess.

a tag-team feature would be cool, kinda like in the old marvel vs. Capcom games. You could press Z and your partner would come in.
I'm hopeing it would maybe be able to play it online, I mean if they could run a game like Mech assault on the box, why couldnt they run SSB3 (or whatever the title is) on the cube, right?

If nothing else, Link's other forms could be activated like a character colour change. Using two buttons to change colour, and another two to change between forms. That way, you could have Wolf O'Donnell as another form of Fox, and possibly even a couple of others (Krystal is unlikely, but would be very cool). That way, you could get rid of Dr.Mario as a separate character. Um... this isn't such a good idea, as changing their forms is like having a whole new character anyway, but it'd be another way of doing it, I guess.

I'd like to see Ridley as a character, although animating him would be very hard, and trying to figure out how he could work could be hard, too.

I'd like to see more levels like Hyrule Temple. That's the only level I play on, because I love the size and slopes of it. I just don't enjoy the others very much. The only other one that I find okay is Cornaria, and that's a bit boring. Maybe they could have an 'inside a Nintendo console' level, and something else that isn't PokeFloats or Mr Game and Watch's level. A level editor would be amazing, too, if it were possible.

I just remembered something else. How about training and customizing your own A.I. like in Virtua Fighter 4. Also, I wouldn't really like this, but they could make it a 3D fighter. But, I don't think it'd be nearly as fun as 2D. But everyone wants Ridley in the game. Let me tell you this: I would like to see Ridley, but I really really doubt it. He's too freakin' big. Sure, Bowser's big too, but he didn't have wings. If Nintendo could figure out a way, then I suppose, but....

The main thing I want to see is the inclusion of Sonic the Hedgehog and a few of his friends. I've waited for an all-out war between Sonic and Mario for long enough. I've seen flash movies and advertisements that suggest one is better than the other, but I want to know once and for all whether the plumber can keep up with Sonic's powerful blast processing.

Aside from the inclusion of Sega namesakes, I would like to see the one player adventures expanded. Of course, I know that the meat of the game is supposed to lie in multiplayer, but playing through a 2-D Mario and Zelda level almost bring a nostalgic tear to my eye. :sniffles:

The gameplay could be balanced to favor skill over luck as well. I don't think that the game should rely too heavily on skill, but slightly deeper game play wouldn't hurt.

I think the inclusion of small minigames would help... Not like Mario Party 4 stuff really, but more like in Street Fighter 2. If you remember, there were points in the game where you'd see who could break the most barrels or break a car first. I'd like stuff simliar to that to be in the next game.

You enjoyed those little mini games? When playing single player in Street Fighter 2 I found them to be very annoying. I really hated being forced to hit bricks for points in between matches. :p I never got the bricks either.

I think a tag team option would be cool. I know 2 people can fight against to other people. But I mean like in Tekken Tag Tournament. It's not much but every little bit counts. :P

There are already little mini-games... Break the Targets, Board the Platforms, Race to the Finish, that sort of thing... I really liked some of those, especially some of the Break the Targets ones. And it's neat how each character has their own level for those ones, too, designed to require skill with that particular character's moves.

i think all of the ideas here are great but one thing i would really like to do is get rid of all those little Pokemon and add the fully evolved ones like Charizard or something. Come one who in thier right mind wants to play as Pichu.

I know one thing they could do - make EGM look silly and actually put Sonic and Tails in there. Hey, it could happen; SONIC team isn't held to a single console, and GCN has been the one getting their games...

That's all well and good, but none of those are worked into the multiplayer game whatsoever. If you've played SF2, you can do those minigames with two players after a while. That's how I'd like them worked in.

Nintendo has so many of their own characters that should be worked in. This is about classic Nintendo characters, not classic videogame characters. I personally would rather it stayed that way.

There are still some great Earthbound characters they could work in; Pit from Kid Icarus; Ganondorf from Zelda... I'd even really like to play as Toad/Kinopio if I could.

I would like Stamina Mode to have stages specially designed for it. As for the characters, I would like to see at least 1 character and stage for every Nintendo franchise. And not only first party, but second party too (there was Rare stuff in Melee).

Here's my picks:
Mike- Startropics
Pit- Kid Icarus
Karim- Eternal Darkness
Little Mac- Punch Out!
Ricky Winterborn- 1080 and Wave Race
Sami- Advance Wars
Garret- Golden Sun
Hero from Raven Blade

And, above all else, the characters should have more than one clotheset. For example, Mario could have his ussual clothes, his final SMS attire, and Dr. Mario (with pills).

But Ganondorf is in SSBM. He isn't very good either, I would like to see him have the ability to change between regular Ganondorf and "Pig Ganondorf" from Link to the Past.

I don't think a tag-team option would work very well in SSBM; mainly because in 2 player vs. matches the characters are always so close to eachother. There would hardly be a chance to bring in another character. Maybe if it was more like Marvel vs. Capcom where the game almost pauses, and the new character enters with an attack of some sort.

Hyper Combos (another idea stolen from M vs. C) could make things interesting. Each character could have an energy meter that is powered up when they do damage to another player. And their R-L shield could drain energy from that bar. Once they get their bar full they could initiate special hyper combos that would be different for each character. I dunno, that would make the game more exciting for me.

Also a story mode would be good for the one player game. Classic and Adventure mode are terrible, I would of rather had some sort of story between the levels instead of just a random progression of stages. Fighting the Goombas in the Mario world was great, I wish the games had more stages like that, and the Link world.

I don't have many new suggestions for characters. Most of my favorite ones are in the game already... Mallow, Geno (Super Mario RPG), Koopa Troopa, Magikoopa, Wario, DK Jr. and Meowth.

And I also want a Mario Kart stage, that would make me extremely happy. :toothy:

What's this? Ganondorf not that good? He's one of my best characters! ...Oh well, different people do well on different characters, I guess.

I do think it would be cool to have both Ganondorf and Ganon playable. I think Ganon would be more suited to a seperate character, though, since Ganon would be much, much bigger (well, bulkier, anyway) and a lot slower. And he'd have to have his trident, too, otherwise it just wouldn't be complete. :toothy:

I'm not sure that I'd like big combos in a Smash Bros. game, though. I mean, one of the main things that I like about the games is that they have simple controls and easy-to-use moves.

That, and in the original SSB, you could still pull off some knarly combos if you were good. Heck, I'd get in some 10, 15-hit combos on Pikachu sometimes and get my opponant up to 50%, 75% without them touching me.

So yeah, there should be combos, but you should have to be damn good to be able to pull them off very well, I think. (You know, the whole "easy to pick up and play, but hard to master," sort of thing). I don't like the idea of having super long combos that you only need to fill up an energy meter to use, though.

you saw that to? and it I think i would be cool if you could change charecters everytime you die and that you could play as banjo and kazooie that would be a great charcter but sadly made by rare and sonic and tails would be a great adition

I remember something else I'd like to see in SSB:M. It's not much, but I thought it was fun anyway. I remember in the original Smash Bros that each character had their own way of getting onto the stage (Fox was dropped off in an Arwing, Mario/Luigi from Warp Pipes, etc. I'd quite like to see those again, although trying to find ones for Marth and oy could be a bit of a problem. Nothing too serious, though. It was just a nice touch, I thought.
