Posted February 11, 2003 Share Posted February 11, 2003 [b][color=teal][size=1]I know very little about this "band," except that their track on the ne DareDevil album, "Bring Me To Life," is the best song since New Found Glory's "My Friends Over You" (no, we are not here to debate the fact that "My Friends Over You" rules over every single person in the universe; that's flaming for another thread). I'm asking if anyone has heard this song, and if they know if their other pieces are just as good. Mmmmm... I myself haven't heard their track but I do know that one of the greatest guitarists i know, Rocky Gray (Formerely/currentely of the bands Lving Sacrifice and Soul Embraced,) is playing drums for them. Why he's playing drums I don't know, but I have a lot of respect for him so I'll probably check out their CD when it's released march 4th. Basically they just remind me of Linkin Park with a girl. I [b][i][u]hate[/b][/i][/u] Linkin Park, and female vocals (despite me prefering them to most guys) just cannot save this band for me. The lyrics seem to be a little more gothly too... but that could just be me... I [b]loved[/b] 'Bring Me to Life'. I keep listening to it over and over. ^_^ That's pretty much my favorite type of music. I sampled a few of their other songs, and they're really great too. Also, I think that song was perfect for setting the mood for Elektra. Raiha recommended "Bring Me To Life", so I took a look at it. It was damn good, so I got a hold of "Haunted", 'My Immortal", "Fields Of Innocence", "Surrender" and "Whisper". They're not as good, but I still like them. I still don't and have never liked "Bring Me to Life", that much, Paul Mccoy kinda ruins it for me. Anyhoo, my favourite track right now is probably "Tourniquet". They do a really good job of of pulling of Soul Embraced, even though the drumming is not at all as good as Lance Garvin. But, one place they do an even better job than Soul Embraced is in the vocals, I'm not saying that Chad Moore does a bad vocalizing job, but just that she has such a beautiful voice. Well, a beautiful voice except when she screams "I want to die", *shivers*, I really think that women should NOT scream ( AHH, bad memory's of the band Still Breathing.) The music is a bit different, but in my opinion far better. Evanescence can die a painful death for all I care... until they ditch the stupid rap stuff anyway, in which case they'd be a bit above average. I really didn't like the rap, and it didn't seem to fit in very well with the whole song. oO; I downloaded 'Haunted' a month ago, and it had these annoying little 'beep' noises in it.
