Pfft, I already know what is going to happen until the time I die. I tend to simplify things, and in this case, it is just about as simple as you can get. Until the time I die, I am going to live. Simple as that. What actually happens during my life? I could not care less. What happens happens.

Well thinking about the future is totally different than thinking about simply death.

I've talked about this with people before... whether or not I'm afraid of death. The answer is simply no. It's not something I ever think about, and it has never concerned me. Death is inevitable, it's something I can do nearly nothing about. When I die, I die and that's the end of it. I don't care if it's anything more or less than that.

That's a summary of it anyway. I tend to be more in detail about it in a one on one conversation where I can actually speak. I've had people tell me that this is a sad outlook. Really I don't think it is. I'm not suicidal. I think I've had a good run so far, and have no real regrets. Good enough for me.

This isn't really what the thread seems to be about, but it seems to be where it's headed lol. In terms of the first post... Such a thing would be simply impossible. Even if someone could predict the future, people still make choices that affect other things. I don't think seeing the future would worry me that much knowing that.

I would try to make the best out of the last day.
I'd basically do the things I've wanted to do. If I didn't have much time left, I guess I'd just spend time with my family, without telling them.

Of course, I don't think that's going to happen. ^_^;;

Hmmm. I'd try to change anything I didn't like. It would be cool too, because as soon as I tried to change it, I knew what would happen, but because I knew the future before that, I knew that I wouldn't have had to change, but if I didn't have to change it, Oh NO!, I've suddenly gone cross eyed!!!

So I know my future and what will happen every day hence. The question is, will I be able to change my actions or other people's actions, or am I caught in playing the future out as it comes.

If I'm stuck doing the motions, then I guess I'll do the best I can to soften any blows I'll be taking. Have I already learned the wisdom of what my future years will teach me? Probably not--minds "mature" as they grow, so even if I did, I probably won't understand the wisdom.

But if I knew what was coming and I couldn't do anything about it, I'd find someway to get rid of my future knowledge. That's just more emotional pain waiting to happen. I learn better by surprises anyway.

I dunno what I'd do. If I liked what I saw I guess I'd stick with it, but it would take the surprise outta EVERYTHING wouldn't it? Take a surprise party... it's not a surprise if you know about it. That would make the rest of your life boring...
And if I didn't like it, I'd fight it. I'd run from it, because I believe I control my fate, not the other way around. To quote from Minority Report - "Everybody Runs..."

Personally, I'd try to invent a time machine to go back in time and undo that moment from ever happening. Unfortunately, since that's impossible, I would just live my life and do everything differently than I was destined to. Maybe that would undo the curse (well, it's a curse, IMO).

If I found out how the rest of my life was going to do, the first thing that would happen would be me bursting out into laughter at all the stupid **** I'm going to do over the next few years.

But anyway...You ever get that sense that you're not really living your life? You're just in the back of your own head, while something else walks around and speaks for you? This really bizarre detachment? I think I'd be like that all the time, rather than just half the time.

Death doesn't worry me. Living in a gutter the rest of my life doesn't worry me. Becoming a politician doesn't faze me. Becoming a drug-addicted loser with an early death due to an O.D. wouldn't surprise me. I take everything as it comes. And according to Raven, it's infuriating...

hn....
i wouldn't try to change my destiny, that is impossible. those who say that they could change their lives before it are in for a shock. For all you know it was i your destiny to change your future and thus you get to the end you are destined. Nobody can choose their destiny or change it at a whim. You can only choose how you meet it and the road you took to get there.

Knowing the future, huh? For a while, I had absolutely no clue what would happen with my future. then, I had a perfect vision of my future. Now, I keep having very realistic dreams about what could be my future, and with all the personalities I have, the road through my future is very confusing...

Destiny, huh? It seems that every day, I think I have a different destiny--one day it's this and one day it's that. Weird, huh?

Curious.

I think I'd rather not know. If the future was set, I couldn't stop the bad things, & I'd have no good surprises. I'd turn into quite the defeatist.

Or would I be able to change things? If I could, wouldn't the "new" future be the one I saw in the first place?

It's just like that whole "going back in time" thing. If I had the option, I'd rather not open that can of worms. Too stressful.

The very fact that you know your "destiny" is what gives you the power to make that destiny your own.

That pretty much sums up what I was going to say.

First of all, that would be hugely depressing. The best things in life are surprises. So I'd do something completely off the wall , just to mix things up a bit and keep life fresh.

Free will is a dangerous thing (when used improperly).

If I knew a quarter of the stuff that I know now then, I'd...well...I'd be too busy freaking people out, especially my future husband. "You HAVE to love me--we're supposed to be married one day!"
(That scares me right there. .oO;.)

OK, lemme say this much--there's a reason why we don't know the future. I wouldn't want to know the future so much as be able to see the whole picture, instead of my slice of the world. To see the impact my life has, is having, and ever will have on people.
Though at the moment, I'm in social internet suicide mode, so I kinda know how I'm affecting people here...
