treton_noir
but you can agree with me when I say THATS ONE BIG A$S GUN!
no. that is a HUGE *ss gun. that is amazing. i also find it odd that S&W manufactures that kind of fire-power. ive always associated that kind of destructive potential with H&K and the desert eagle stuff. i dont think id like to own it, but it sure would be fun to shoot. i cant get over the fact that its a revolver and not a semi with maybe an 8 round clip or something. that is just insane. Mitch
All a gun is is an extension of power and death. With one smoking pull of a trigger, a heart falls. A bullet crumbles. The world bleeds. With one load of the hitch, with one stray of the metal, deeper wounds are created than mankind will see in his time here, his time there. The gun does sound pretty big, but it's not something I like nor care about or for.
LostProphet
Thats poetic Mitch, but this isnt in the Poem forum. Sorry man. Anyhow, it wasnt an advertisement. Those arent shown here either. I was just catching up on the days events, and they started talking about it. Odd thing was that almost right after, there was an advertisement for the documentary "Bowling for Columbine" which is about the incident 4 years ago. Anyhow, figured I'd clear up that little jumble. As for my opinions on guns....I dont agree with them, but at the same time I do, which sounds wierd. In war...theres no real other alternative BUT guns, and if you look at it, its better than Artillery, which can take out whole buildings with a single shell and kill everyone within, and its better than dropping a nuclear weapon, which kills thousands of people within seconds. In order not to sound like Bush the War Monger, Guns really have no use outside of the military. People may hunt with them, but yields for meat arent very high. Using them as self-defense is possibly the DUMBEST argument I've ever heard. If civilians had ABSOLUTELY no access to guns, the world would be a much better place. Zephyr
Originally posted by LostProphet Calibre: .50 Magnum
*Sarcasm* Great! Yet another gun that ranks with the Desert Eagle as a "Fifty-caliber Hand Cannon." What is the point of a gun that big? Sure, target practice is fun, but a .50 caliber Magnum is just plain overkill. On a side note, has anyone else ever fired an AR-15? (Which is a civilian version of the M-16)

The Harlequin
Yeah, and get fined and/or jailed while doing it too. People are stupid. And stupid people, which is most of them, like the idea of petty power. And guns are as petty as power gets. There's not even the license of self-defence in this instance. What the hell is going to attack you? An armoured truck? "Uh yes officer. I was just walking down the street, when this man asked me for my wallet. Now, I wasn't inclined to give it to him, so I left most of his torso in fragments, killing an innocent bystander behind him because my gun was too powerful." Stupidity.
Transtic Nerve
Originally posted by LostProphet Thats poetic Mitch, but this isnt in the Poem forum. Sorry man.
It's not a Gun forum either there spiffy. Guns are like a penis for those men who have really small penises. They need something big and powerful because they lack that themselves. The bigger then gun, the smaller the penis and as far as I'm concerned, the more the pu$$y someone is. Guns should be for display only. After all, are you really gonna shoot that big a weapon at an animal when you could kill it much easier with something much less? It almost seems pathetic... wait, no... it is pathetic. Sui Generis
Guns themselves I hate.... I agree with what Mitch said. Even though *cough* Lost Prophet *cough* thought it was stupid, I thought it was true.... finishes reading what TN said. ITS SO TRUE!! I mean you could be walking along one day and that very gun could kill you, without you knowing it...It just proves that death can come anywhere anytime... Sandy
Heh, this reminds me of what a "caller to radio" in Grand Theft Auto 3 -game said to the "radio host" Lazlo: "Guns don't kill people; death kills people! That's a medical fact!" I can see similar thinking in this thread, and all I can do is shake my head incredulously: kids talking about how great it is to shoot! It's a sick, sad world... RicoTranzrig
I do like guns just for show but using it against someone else, for defense or something else isn't right. I've also noticed the high price of it. I heard from someone that bullets should be equally expensive because maybe people'll think twice before loading a gun.
DuoMax
Ya know you're safer from burlary(sp?) if you have a dog then if you have a gun? I mean what robber wants to tangle with a loud, furry thing with sharp teeth?

treton_noir
murder death kill murder death kill just joking, but i really have to agree with harry about the "need" issue. nobody needs to have a handgun (especially not one that powerful), but sometimes its a good way to get rid of stress. you have a rough day/week and you get to go take out your problems on just about whatever you want. you get to go destroy something... DESTROY something! with a little discretion, shooting can be a very fun and rewarding sport.
Zephyr
Originally posted by sage kids talking about how great it is to shoot! It's a sick, sad world...
Not really. Well, maybe a little. Their is not problem with shooting a gun, but only at a paper target in the middle of the woods and under a controlled situation. Teaching a kid to shoot is not necessarily a bad thing, if you teach them under the proper conditions. I learned how to fire a gun at a young age, but was also taught by my father (an ex-cop) and my uncle (still a cop) the proper why to treat a weapon of such power. Because of that I know how to handle a gun and thus have a greatly lowered chance of bringing harm to someone with one by accident. The fault for misusing a gun does not lie with the kid, TV or video games. The fault lies with the kid's parents, who did not teach him/her to respect something that dangerous. treton_noir
kids talking about how great it is to shoot!
ill be 19 in about 2 weeks. i totally agree with Black_Phoenix. ignorance [strike]kills people[/strike] causes injuries and death. learning the proper way to handle firearms can prevent the loss innocent lives. it prevents the "oops" that people dont come back from.
Guns are like a penis for those men who have really small penises. They need something big and powerful because they lack that themselves. Lady Macaiodh
It's kind of hard for me to be objective about this because of where/how I was raised. I dunno... something about handguns, esp. big ones, get me kind of... excited. But the only use for them is shooting other people. I have nothing against guns for hunting (rifles, shotguns) but for someone to own a handgun seems pointless, unless they plan to use it on a person. When it comes to weapons, there really is no place to draw the line, though. Too many gray areas. I, therefore, have decided to judge not in this area.
Justin
Wow...that's a lot of caliber. That would break your arm if you fired it wrong, lol. Anyway, if I'm going to have mechanical power, I prefer it to be under the hood of a car. Preferably, a '69 Chevelle SS 454...or a '69 Hemicharger...or a '71 GTX Six Pack...or a '66 GTO...or '67 Shelby GT 500...or...OK, I'll stop. -Justin
Kent
I actually very much respect Lady Macaiodh for her post on this... Death Blooms(wheee!!) sorry, Mudvayne moment. ok, my veiw, lets see if i get slapped for it. if you need a gun, 1) why? no bs reason 2) self defense.......uhhhh not on the street buddy. in your house, maybe. 3) target ranges are the greatest for civies. 4) for insane crazy death loving people like myself, war rules. Only because you get to kill the bastard thats trying to kill you, and it takes out alot of agression, and scares the life into you. Thats about all you would need guns for(but hey, i'm not gonna bash you for buying a glock 9 mill, and walking aorund with it, i'll either ask to see it, or keep something between you and me). Unless shooting up schools sounds like a day in the park for you.............**dodges suspicious looks** WHAT?!?!?
