Corey
Alan- "Mr... Mr... I'm sorry... I've forgotten your name." The man gave me a dissaproving look and flipped through some files. Jordonsen- "Jordonsen..." I smiled and gave him a grateful smile. Alan- "Mr Jordonson, your order of threehundred units is going to take a little longer than expected. I've run into a few problems in the CPU. It has a habit of overheating after a process of five million plus GigaHertz." Jordonsen raised his eyebrows. It looked very comical considering his eyebrows looked like huge furry caterpillars. Jordonsen- "Mr Drodrick... We will only need a minimum of one million to do what we require. Five million is far to much. Can you give us a smaller number?" I shook my head. Alan- "With this you will always have room for improvement. And the price stays the same. It stands at 1.2 million. Including crystal-optic servers and PDS screens." He nodded apparently exploring possibilities in his mind. Finnally, he nodded and brought out a check. I smiled my first genuine smile of the morning and escorted him out. I walked back in and handed the check to my secretary. "This will pay for that new hardware we've been wanting to develope. A three hundred percent profit. I love this job." She smiled at me and got the bank on the phone. I walked into my office sat down and closed my eyes. My computer turned on and began it's routine checkup. When it was done I activated the program and began running simulations to determine to see how long my memory would last. The results still weren't good. I had another day, maximum. I frowned and ran another three very quickly. They all came out the same with small differances. I had learned of the genetic experiments about two months ago and have been searching for a cure ever since. I have kept a contiuing search going on my fastest computer. It has turned up bits and pieces, but most of the good stuff I had to break into. The last of the people with the information to cure the memory degregation had went into hiding, and along with them the serums location. One of the people was rumored to be in Brazil. I was in New York. I wouldn't make it there in time no matter how fast I went. Lori- "Mr. Dodrick." Who was she talking too? "Mr. Dodrick?" Oh yeah... That's my name. Alan- "Sorry... What is it?" I removed my headset and looked at her. Lori- "Your wife wants to speak with you. Line three." Lori left and a light on my phone went on. I stared at it, attempting to remember my wife's name.
The Harlequin
Rali stumbled out onto the street, nearly getting wiped out by a passing car. An angry driver shouted incomprehensible words that trailed away into smoke. Rali kept walking, unsteadily crossing the road. It was only a few metres, but it seemed an eternity. Reaching the other side, he collapsed, curling up and shaking. Someone reached out and touched his shoulder. He was up in an instant, snarling. They backed off, hands up in a placating motion. "Easy now... What's your name" Rali looked at him solemnly for a second, before bursting out into wild, hysterical laughter. When it subsided, he answered the kindly meant question with remarkable restraint. Rali: I have no idea. I don't know who I am. I don't know who you are. I don't know where I am, and I don't know where I'm meant to be. Do you I have a card? It has small pictures on it. I don't know what they mean. He waved the offending bit of cardboard bit around, proffering it to the man. He took it, glancing at it for a second. "Rali Kreigyr. Biochemist. Look mate, I don't know what's wrong with you, but I think we'd better get you to a hospital" Rali: What would this hospital thing you speak of be? Man: Jesus Christ. You know, the whitewalled buildings where the people dressed in white stop you from feeling like ****. Rali snarled again, his face turning feral. With a cry of "You can't take me back!", he simply leapt away. Inhumanly fast, and uncannily high. He caught onto a window ledge on a nearby building, and disappeared from the man's sight in an instant. "You can't take me back...."
The Unholy Newt
I sat and stared at the man standing over me. I had no idea what was going on. The last thing I could remember was being pushed up against a wall and something being tightened around both my wrists. I then blanked out again and woke up inside the back of a vehicle. The man stared down at me looking very frustrated. The room we were in was a very dank grey room. I was seated at a bland table with my hands resting on it in front of me. They were banded together by a set of handcuffs. Man: Can you please tell me, what is your goddamn name!? Me: I . . . I don't know. I don't know who I am, where I live. Please . . . just tell me what is going on. I covered my face with my hands and let out a large yell. I was at the point of tearing my hair out from my head. Me: I'm so confused, can you please tell me what is going on. The man looked at me sympathetically and left the room, left me all alone . . . wondering what was going to happen to me. ~TUN
GinnyLyn
The moon was full, and so bright. Lydia stood on the balcony, reaching her hands up to it. Something about touching it just seemed so right--like the proverbial moth to the flame. In a moment, her feet left the ground as she stretched her hands higher; the thin jacket she had draped about herself shifted in the breeze. It was the startled gasp from the ground that caught her attention. Lydia paused and looked down at the sound far below. It didn't register in her mind that she was afraid of heights; she simply viewed the ground as if it were an illusion, made to think she was high in the air. "Whoa...um, hey," the uncertain voice said, the sandy haired head craning back to peer at her, "don't you think you should come down from there?" Lydia never broke her gaze and continued to hover. "C'mon, it's dangerous up there. Come down, and tell me your name." Lydia's gaze turned into one of angry bewilderment. Name? Come down? Who was this guy to tell her what to do? She turned to reach for the moon again when her sensitive hearing detected the sound of a pistol cocking. There was a flurry of footsteps, and before she could react, a loud yell of dismay and a gunshot broke the silence. Lydia drew a sharp breath as a bullet grazed her shoulder. Her concentration on the moon broken, she staggered in midair, then broke into a gravity-defying run. Below, the sandy haired man, although nervous, punched the shoulder of another man. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" he cried. The man, a dark figure, snarled back. "Trying to capture that girl. She's obviously demon possessed. In these end times, the world will be overrun by creatures of darkness! They will be able to take forms of humans like us, yet their true nature will show through their abilities. No normal human could have floated like that." The two were so swept up in their argument that neither saw Lydia painfully topple into the bushes a mere 200 yards away. "Spare me the speech, I've heard it plenty of times before. Besides, the way you were aiming, it looked like you were gonna kill her, not capture her." The dark man shook his head condescendingly at his sandy haired friend. "So naive. Come. We must protect the world's souls of this menace." The sandy haired man watched the other put the gun back in his side holster and walk off. After a moment of hesitation, he followed the dark figure.
DuoMax
Omi awoke with a start. where was he? He looked around frantically. He saw nothing but darkness. He put a hand to his head "Ow...what ead ache. Where am I? then again, more important is WHO am I?" He looked at his hand. It was encased in black glove. A He looked at himself , seeing the black suit he wore. He ripped the black hood from his head, his hair fallingto shoulders. He felt around for his wallet. As he patted his waist, he felt something else. He lifted the object and looked at it. In his hand he held a silenced 9mm pistol. He groaned. What was he doing with a gun? And dressed in black? Rei
Pheobe uncontrollably levitated kicking a punching bag which she missed and fell on her back. Pheobe: Ugh! This power is so frustrating. Pheobe complained for 10 min about how she can't control her powers. She then stood still for about 10 sec. Pheobe: What was I doing agian? Corey
I would much enjoy it if you two (DuoMax and Rei) improved your post quality. I don't want this RPG to get filled with horrible posts. -------------------- Alan- "Honey! What can I do for you?" I couldn't remember her name... Jennifer- "Are we still going out tonight? I made reservations for seven." The color slid from my face. I had forgotten. No surprise there but our relationship had been on fragile ground lately. I had been working too much and she has been getting interested in other guys. This was going to be our 'makeup' time. "Alan?" Alan- "Of course. I'll be home by six." She gave a thankful sigh and hung up the phone. I looked at the clock. 5:31. Wow. How time had flown. I shut down my computer with an automatic thought. Putting my suitcoat back on I strode out of the office and into the lobby. "Lori? I'm going to take off. My wife just reminded me of our dinner reservations." Lori chuckled. Lori- "You better watch it Al. You're going to lose her." I nodded and walked out of the door. Alan- "And more than that..." I muttered. I stepped into my car and turned it on. The motor was silent. "Auto Pilot engage." Vehicle Computer- "Destination?" Alan- "Home." Vehicle Computer- "Confirmed. Aproximate travel time will twenty seven minutes and ten seconds." Alan- "Engage." I fastened my seatbelt and drifted into a doze as the car drove on the pre set travel-ways of New York. --- Vehicle Computer- "We have arrived at our destination." I was jarred out of my sleep. I nodded and removed my ingnition card. The door closed as I got out and I walked up to the door. Alan- "Fµck..." I couldn't remember the security clearence code. I tried one number and it was rejected. Another... It was rejected as well. The door was open and in the doorway was my wife, dressed in nothing but a robe. Jennifer- "I thought we might skip dinner." She grabbed my belt and led me up to our bedroom. She slowly undressed me as we made our way, kissing eachother passionately, over to the bed. Corey
OOC: I didn't say you were a bad writer I said your posts could be better. Block posts are quite anoying to read, especially in RPG's when people are speaking. Your post had that, Rei's was incredibly repetitive. Sorry if I offended, I was attempting to give constructive critisism. I would still want you in this RPG. Practice does make perfect. -------------- IC: I sighed and stroked my wifes arm. Things were slipping away. I couldn't remember anything of last week and hardly anything from this one. The night was cool. I slipped out of bed and into the bathroom. I needed a shower. I started the water and looked at myself in the mirror. I diddn't look bad... But considering the stress I had been under, I could look better. I had gotten a little thin, and looked slightly ragged. My hair had thinned slightly. I rubbed my eyes and stepped into the shower, letting the water caress my body. It felt good. The water was at that point where it wasn't quite burning. The best kinds of showers. I sighed as I tried to remember my childhood. I had been in the facility. That much I know for sure. Why else would I have my powers? The next evolutioary advances in mind power weren't going to happen for a while. I dropped my head and let a few tears fall. I couldn't remember anything before my car-ride home. More just slipped out of my mind. Alan- "Dammit..." How long before I forgot my name? My wife's name? I didn't want this. I didn't ask for these abilities. No one did. I grabbed the bottle of shampoo and poured a bit into my hand. I sudsed it through my hair and let the lather rinse down the drain. I waited untill the water started getting cold, stepped out and completely dried off. I looked in the mirror. I looked thin. Kind of ragged. My hair was thinning too. I should really take a shower... That's what I need. I stepped into the shower and turned on the water. It was cold. Why wasn't it getting warmer? I shook my head and stepped out. I wrapped a towel around myself and walked outside of the bathroom. I layed down in my bed and closed my eyes. A small grunt came from my other side and an arm was draped across my chest. My breath caught in my thorat. Who the hell was this? Why was there someone in my bed? I slowly removed the arm and got out of my bed. I dressed and walked out of the room. Where was I? This isn't my house... I don't have a house... I walked out of the building in a half daze. Who was I? I got to the sidewalk and began walking, right into the heart of New York City. GinnyLyn
Lydia blinked back into groggy wakefulness. She groaned and massaged her head, pushing herself up with her other arm-- --and crying out in pain. She held her breath for a moment to make sure that pair of men from earlier didn't hear. Nothing. Good. Biting her lip to ignore the pain, she leaned against her offending arm again, and a fresh bout of fiery pain shot through her shoulder. Carefully placing her other hand against it, Lydia pulled it away and was shocked to see a dark wetness glinting in the moonlight. Blood. "How did this...?" A dry branch somewhere nearby cracked--it sounded like a gunshot to her sensitive ears--and Lydia bolted. In a few moments, she was out of the woods. The female hung her head a little, holding her aching shoulder again. She spotted a white sign with a large red cross on it on the other side of the street; something about that symbol stirred a generally hopeful feeling, one that would make the pain go away. With a great effort, she placed one foot in front of the other, moving toward the symbol. The blare of an horn, the glare of twin beams of light, tore into her senses, and Lydia quickly leapt into the air, ignoring the obsenities the driver was screaming at her. Her head was pounding now, and she pushed herself to glide to the symbol. With a final burst of energy, she grabbed at the symbol, then draped across the top of it, her good arm hanging down in front of the sign loosely. She mercifully slipped back into unconsciousness. A nurse was walking past the front doors of the small hospital to get coffee when she saw the slender form of a young woman fall to the sidewalk just outside. Well, there's something you don't see every day... Her work instinct kicked in, and she was quickly calling for help, checking the female for broken bones or bruises. The female's eyes fluttered for a moment, then shut again; she had made it to the red cross symbol. She was going to be ok...
Juu
*prays post works this time*... ---------- Celestine's eyes lingered to her celing, glimmering with the radiant stars, dotting the sky. The stars shimmered amongst each other, as the full moon seemed to smile down apon the city below. Lights of windows began to dim as the city went to sleep. It was a quiet city, rather small and old-fashioned. The streets would be busy with people the next morning. Some in vehicles of many sizes and shapes, while others would walk by the seawalls. Most people knew one another here. It was very small compared to all the cities which had highly advanced during the past twenty years. Celestine hadn't been outside for eleven years. She would stay on her bed, waiting for her parents to return. It was hard to even remember their faces. Her mother's kind eyes seemed so distant from her. She felt empty. Celestine couldn't even remember the city's name, nor how to get around the house. All the rooms were strangely unfamiliar, and all she remembered was her name, and why she wouldn't get out of the house. They had told her to stay here, and wait. And she did. She felt cold. The world seemed to have stopped turning. All of her connections seemed frozen beyond reach. She shivered, and turned on her side, curling up. Her silver-blue eyes froze, motionless and silent. Thoughts flowed through her mind. All those thoughts she couldn't seem to understand. Celestine extended her hands and held a small picture in her hands. She held it close, and closed her eyes.
Onix
Tao stood, focused, atop a tall skyscraper. Wind swirled around him, causing his black cloak to swirl in the air. He was lost in thought, or, to be precise, lost in his memories, or what little was there. He couldn't remember anything beyond yesterday, and even that was fuzzy. He remembered machines...labs...bubbling...churning liquids...screams...pain...but nothing defined or understandable. He turned around and walked towards the staircase that led to the roof-top of the apartment building. He needed to get ready. He needed to go, to search, to find something out. He owned very little. Some money, the clothes he was wearing, a spare change, and his Ninja-to. He figured he must have studied Ninjitsu, the Ninja arts, at some point. He found out yesterday he was an excellent killing machine. His assailant hadn't stood a chance. Tao was fast. Too fast to be human. And beyond strong. He had checked the record books. Nothing too close to his skills. Some could just barely mach his abilities, but not for long enough to be effective. Tao had decided to become an assassin. He had the knowledge and the skills to do so. And it pays well, he understood. He grabbed his things and climbed out the window. It was rent day, and he needed all the money he had. He figured he'd place an add, or something, or hang out at a less-conspicuous club. Someone, somewhere, would need another person dead. Tao figured he could supply death. He was good at it. He took one last look at the small room and sighed. Time to go, he figured. The land-lord's knocking.
