Guest Anakin Solo
This is a Star Wars banner that I just whipped up. It took me forever, to tone down the faded look of the pictures. I mean, they would always be like 90% faded, made me so made. So what ya'll think? I know it is simple and all...tell me what to improve and what not. :D
BigCajones
It's a pretty impressive banner! Two things- the writing kind of gets in the way a bit, but it's okay and the dark shadow effect I don't really like which is in between the two pictures. I don't think you should have those gaps you should fill them up with the rest of the picture if you can. I'm not really an artist so what would I know though, but still very good and well faded! :box:
Guest Jenni
Don't use green... it makes it look crappier...

Guest Anakin Solo
Originally posted by Jenni Don't use green... it makes it look crappier...
That isn't really a comment that can be used to improve my work. ^_^ Green was the only one that didn't make it look crappy. ;) Besides, you haven't seen it with other colors, so you can't tell if it is crappier than other colors or not. Anywho.......the writing is a powerful qoute from a New Jedi Order book(least I think it is an important one) Showing the "New Jedi Order" facing off against the Yuuzhan Vong(which is in the middle) EDIT What ya'll think of the avatar I just whipped together? I like it, my favorite character from The New Jedi Order.
BigCajones
Yeah your avatar is alot better, but I still think with your banner you shouldn't even have the green just try and link the whole thing up with it's orignal background i.e putting the rest of the lightsaber in as well as the other part of the background. It's still good though. Come to think of it green probably does go best if you need it. :)
Guest Anakin Solo
What you think of this banner? It is plain, I made it that way for a purpose. It isn't a banner made to show off "effects" or what not, so think about your reply, and don't say "it is plain." The qoutes are some of the most powerful qoutes in SBS, in my mind. Giving me a sense of impending death for my favorite character. When I read, "By the, Anakin was gone" I cried. SO...just tell me what you think. Think it makes a point? or whatnot. Guest Anakin Solo
But your opinion has nothing to back it up with. "it makes it look crappier" is the key word. Meaning that you have somehow seen it with other colors, and other fonts and such. But you can't say "crappier" because you have nothing to compare it with. :D Now if you said crappy, then we wouldn't be here. And why do you think my first was better? Because it had more in it? Why?

because it doesnt have the small times new roman font in it... the first actually had less in it.. banners are about the images(or at least gfx ones) not 8 pt fonts and fine its crappy, do you feel better about yourself now? Guest Anakin Solo
And if you would read my post, I clearly said that my second banner wasn't about the images. ;) And if you could please tell me where it says that banners have to be about the images??? There is no rule saying banners have to be about the images that I am aware of. I never said I would feel better about myself, so I have no idea where that came from. You said it looked crappier, and you couldn't have compare it to anything for it to be "crappier."
