Ryan
He's grounded! Maybe his parents just figured out what they were doing and they don't want to admit it to him. Or maybe not...
Deedlit
ooooh. >.>;; poor Bry.... I think that he should take Lady M.'s advice and make it so that he must login every time he accesses the boards. That should help.

ChibiV
Everyone deserves their privacy. If your parents won't accept that, oh well, then I guess the kid has to lie. My parents don't even what privacy is. They digged through my backpack and closet, and think it's the right things to do. They opened my mail, check my cell-phone...etc. I told them to stop, they won't listen. So, I have no choice but to rent a locker a school and put everything in there. Sui Generis
Thanks for the help ya'all... I was grounded for both reasons Blanko. So yeah uhm... I tried to explain it to them, but all they say is "IF you can put it on the interenet then why won't you let us read it?" They won't believe whatever I say...oh well

How old are you, Lalaith Ril, anyway? I'm trying to make a point by that question. I think you should start reading your parents' e-mail, or something, just so they know how it feels. Jeez! How would you like that, Lalaith Ril's parents? Well, maybe that's not the greatest idea, but good god.
Juu
Yeah... it's really sad. ><; You should always remember to log out before you get offline from now. From like, everything. Although, Bryan, I really think you should have a little talk about this with your parents. After I talked with my dad, and asked him for a little more privacy online, my dad even logs out for me. oO;
spike speigel
I had the same problem for a while. When we first got aol, My parnets never did this because thaey had their "parental controls", but when we got optimum online, my dad began to watch my every move. He read my coneverstaions, my e-mail,and my history. He even read my private stuff! He had to know exactly who I was talking to. I got so fed up I began to exit out of eeverything when he entered the room and pretend to do homework until he left. FInally, he got the message and I now have sweet, sweet internet freedom. Dragon Fou Lu
i have a idea which i pulled off once and it actually worked.(note: this may sound stupid and probably is, but it got me freedom from my parents) i had pretty much the same problem with my mum reading my PM's on another forum i used to go to.eventually i decided i'd had enough so i sent a PM to myself (knowing that my parents would read it! :p) saying: ' Stop reading my Private Messages or i start reading your Mail ' it actually worked. :p although i wouldn't reccomend you threating to read their mail if you just think it'll get you into major trouble! :)
Sui Generis
Erm I already tried the whole "PM youself how you feel about what they are doing to you" thing. It didn't work. O.o. Anyways I'm 14 (15 on March, 15) Deb. The thing is my dad just doesn't see how much it annoys me. He doesn't have common sense. He doesn't understand that certain people feel certain things. I mean don't get me wrong my dad is a GENIUS when it comes to logical things. But when it comes to feelings....erm....flunks. Anyways, I'm about to do the Mail thing, I'm really sick of this all, and I'm running out of options.

Anyway, why don't you just say, "You're pissing me off. Go away." If that fails, go on to the mail. And if that fails...you can always watchi everything he does for a while. If you have to phones [on the same line] listen into his conversation. Do what you can.
Braidless Baka
You know, I think things like that (listening in on the phone, or reading his email) could just get Lalaith into worse trouble than he's already in, unfortunately :(. I have an over-protective father too, but he works abroad, so no worries there ^_^ But I know from experience that if you try to go against what a parent has said "it's law" (or something similar). And my life would not be worth living if I were to do any of the things suggested here (even if I were in a position to need to). My best advice is to log out of EVERYTHING before you come offline, and if your parents know passwords, change them and don't write them down anywhere. Maybe implore to your mum to talk to your father? I'm not sure what your parental situation is at home, but I can always rely on my mum to talk some sense into my dad. Anyway, if nothing else, just don't do anything bad that he can find, yeah? Just don't worry about it, if he wants to read it, let him. If he can see you're a trustworthy kid, he'll calm down eventually, or get bored... That's what my dad's like anyway. He'll have something else to do, rather than checking your internet usage for two or three hours a night. Hope your situation improves ^_^
