It was a deceptively peaceful night.

Skreetala, the golden green moon of Exocisyt, hung full and heavy among the bare branches of a large oak. Soft lilting notes danced in the night, and quietly fell unnoticed to the ground. Willow wanted it that way.

The ageless female pulled her silvery hair over her ears, to hide them from cold (and other things), and tucked her flute away; she didn't want to attract attention to herself.

Below her perch, she watched as a group of Lotoewians (or whatever you want to call them) march into the small sleepy town. Armed with the latest in molecular projectiles, they wasted no time in ravaging the village.

Willow crouched low, her black clothing blending with the dark limbs of the tree; her face was softly lit by the fires being set everywhere. Gustofes shrilled nervously, and a few broke free of their harnesses. Some of the Lotoewian soldiers fired old fashioned guns into the air, and the trihorned creatures reared backwards on their six legs, pawed the night air with their silver hooves. Exocisyt's Gustofes were animals well known not only for their tameness when it came to being ridden, but also for their delectable flesh and highly prized horns.

One young one, a small series of bumps on its head where the horns would soon be, screamed and bolted in terror, trampling a Lotoewian soldier instantly with the dagger edges of its hooves. Another soldier swore, and turned on the beast.

Willow gasped softly as a shot echoed in the night. The young Gustofe would not need to worry about its horns now.

Exocisytian screams were soon mingling with the Gustofes'. Men yelled hoarsely and tried to snap out of their midnight muddlement as Lotoewian soldiers tied up the weaker ones, and mortally wounded any who fought back. Children were sobbing in hysterical bewilderment, and mothers begged to be left alone.

Willow fingered her shurikens, then decided to stay put. There were far too many for her. She'd be dead in an instant.

The straw that broke the camel's back, to use an ancient phrase, was the teenage girl incident. Apparentally, this batch of Lotoewians were no better than barbarians, as a pair chased a young girl into the dark woods at the edge of town. Chasing after the trio was what seemed like her father and a young man--probably her boyfriend. One of the Lotoewian soldiers slapped the boy back, and threatened the Exocisytian men with his molecular projectile weapon.

The other soldier grabbed the girl by her wrists and grinned nastily. She screamed in horror and her enraged father darted forward; he was instantly curled on the ground, nursing a shoulder wound. The second soldier then lifted his smoking weapon and pointed it at the boy's head, then nodded to his comrade. The teenager screamed again as the soldier holding her reached for her shirt.

"That's quite enough!" Willow bellowed as she leapt from her hiding place. The soldier holding the girl looked up at the unexpected visitor, and snarled. Willow moved swiftly, and a shuriken dug deep into his unprotected neck. The other soldier swore in Lotoewian and moved to shoot Willow, only to find that another shuriken had shorted his gun's firing mechanicism.

The teenager girl gasped in tearful terror as Willow shoved the dead soldier off of her. The boyfriend embraced her lovingly, and the two propped her father between them. Willow lunged at the other soldier before he could dart away, and grabbed his shoulders. Staring deep into his eyes, she whispered, "Manipulation: sleep."

The soldier was now snoozing comfortably.

"What now?" the teenage girl asked Willow.

"You can't go back to the village," Willow answered. "And we can't stay here--more Lotoewians will find us soon." She slung the sleeping soldier over her back. "Let's go back to my place for awhile, then."

"Why are you bringing him?" the boyfriend asked suspiciously.

Willow regarded him coolly, then answered, "He could be useful. Now let's go."

The small group moved as fast as they could into the shadows of the forest. The father was careful not to make too much noise from his shoulder wound, but quietly murmured about the sudden, unprovoked attack on such a quiet night. Willow sneaked at a peak at the moon, still hanging full and heavy among the bare branches of the trees.

It was a deceptively peaceful night, indeed.

Koro sat alone in his jail cell. It had been a week since he was locked up becasue of his 'insubordination'. "It's disgusting." he said, seemingly talking to himself. However, he was actually talking to his Spear, Rozin. The spear was inhabiteted by the ghost of a warrior. 'What is?' flashed through Koro's mind. Rozin was responding telepathically. "How they keep everyone in control with their sick lies." Koro replied. "People actually beieve that we're at war with Zeru because if we win, we'll 'unify' the worlds." 'You must learn, Koro, that most people are naive. They will believe anything, aslong as it promises what they want.' "Yeah, that may be true but...I know we can stop this!" Rozin silently laughed at Koro. He knew that the boy meant well, but his skill as a warrior usually got in his way of thinking.

A few hours later, a man in a back suit appeared at the door to Koro's cell. "Mr. Koro, I presume?" the man asked. "Yeah, that's me. Let me guess: you're here to deliver my punishment." Koro snapped. "You...could say that.." the man trailed off. He had a develish grin that made Koro fell sick. 'This isn't gonna turn out good.' Rozin warned Koro.

On a computer, Relinon is doing some research. "Oh great another attack." Relinon says, "Okay, lets see, attacks...hmmmm...aha! There have been attacks on many small towns." *Typing* *Click* "Okay, where... !!! Oh no! they've attacked Zeru Already?!?!? That's it. They've gone too far. It's time to retaliate." He says angrily, "Should I get the troops ready?" A soldier says, "No this time, I'm going solo.

Sky was breathing hard by the time she was far enough from the soldiers.The small boy was shaking still clinging to Sky's neck. Who..ar..e you?" the little boy asked. "I'm Sky Moonflow" sky said calmly. She put the little boy down "And who are you?" Sky asked. "I'm Karo Tunsami."replied Karo. Sky smiled but her smile faded when she heard gunshots. "Better keep moveing." She said as she picked the little boy up.

It was almost dawn before the soldiers stoped chasing her.She found a tree and climbed up. She set the boy down and he instantly fell asleep. She yawened and looked around makeing shure no one was around. Sky pulled out her small flute she made herself. And played a song her learned long ago before all of this. As she played she rembered her past before this happened.-Sky chases after her friend Lila. "Wait up." Sky yelped.But Lila kept running. Sky trips and crys. A witch stands over her and mutters a curse. Sky falls asleep and wakes up after a while. She returns home "Mom i'm back!" Sky yelped as she went inside. She heard her mother sobbing "SKy's been gone for 2 years."her mother sobbed. "Mom I'm right here" Sky says. But her mother dosen't hear her.-Sky stops playing and yawns. She lies down and lets a dreamless sleep claim her.

Willow was on the move again.

She had left the trio from the village in the small cave she had had for a temporary home. Six months wasn't long enough to form any real attachment to it, though, so she had no qualms about leaving it. As for the people...well, they could deal. With any kind of luck, they would have the sense to stay put until things smoothed over.

If they were going to smooth over.

She gently prodded the Lotoewian soldier in front of her, making sure that he was walking back toward the village. Even if the trio were upset with her sudden disappearance, they would be relieved that he was gone. He was still lost in her manipulation ability; as such, he wasn't tied up, for he wasn't any real danger to her.

On the outskirts of the village, Willow paused, then rested one hand against her forehead, and the other against the soldier's. "Manipulation."

Willow's garb instantly changed into a copy of the soldier's: a drab grey gold color, with sharp green stripes marking her suit; a metallic helmet covering her head (and ears), leaving enough space for her face, of which the eyes were covered by a reflective glass, so no one could see them; her long silvery hair was swept up into a high tail now, held there by a grey gold clasp; she patted her left arm for her shuriken guard, which still held the star shaped objects; her dagger rested in its right thigh hilt.

A small amount of names formed in her mind as well--names of the other soldiers and a few of the captain's. But nothing of what Lotoew was doing here on Exocisyt. Willow frowned; she should have snagged the other soldier last night. Not that it would have gone over well with the village trio. Willow sighed mentally and inserted her name as a fellow soldier into the soldier's mind, then released him from her manipulation ability.

The soldier shook his head, then gazed at her. "Willow? I had the oddest dream..."

Willow raised a bemused eyebrow at him, his name floating into her newly formed memory. "We aren't paid to dream, Cellyus. Just to fight."

Cellyus thought this over for a minute, then nodded. "Not to think, either. I wish I really knew what was going on between Lotoew and Exocisyt. There doesn't seem to be any reason to attack them." He blew a sigh and shouldered his gun. Willow readjusted her dagger hilt and followed him to the village. She was hoping that, even if Cellyus didn't know anything, she could get some answers.

Relinon: Well I've arrived on Zeru. This town seems empty. Lotoew soldiers. Well, radar reports that there are a few Zeruian people still around. I'll...

?????: Die at my hands!

Relinon: (Mumbling) Oh great... A Lotoewian soldier. (Yelling) Ready to duel to the death? Well, YOU LOSE! RUBY FLARE!

A beam of energy shoots out of Relinon's Katana, piercing a hole through the enemy soldier.

Relinon: Too easy. Although that usually misses... Who's there? Show yourself!

Koro followed the man down a dark hall. "What are you going to do?" Koro asked. The man quietly chuckled and replied "We're going to test something on you. Kind of like an.....experiment." "Oh great. I'm just so exicited to to help my planet achieve peace!" Koro sarcastically cheered. The man turned around and stared straight into Koro's eyes. "You'll be singing a different tune after a little while." the man smiled.

Samer walked in his troop deliberatly walking as slow as he could. Loathing every moment he was surrounded by these mindless drones and confounded 'watchers'.

"They might as well have robots," Samer said quietly to himself, but not quiet enough. One of his 'watchers' heard him, of course.

"What was that, Samerillth?" asked a nearby one with a malicious grin.

"I said, You might as well have robots, marching of to so call, 'Unify' our nations. What good are these mindless drones going to do?" Samer yelled trying to keep calm, of course this had happened about five times before today and it wasn't even noon. Samer noticed the grin on his face turn to a scowl.

"Alot more good than you, and if you keep at this, I will make sure you go to prison, and I will personally deal out your punishment. I Promise." His grin returned, nastier than before.

"Don't try to frighten me with empty threats." Samer said stubbornly.

That's it Samerillth," *Turns to other 'watchers'* "Chain him!"

Samer didn't have time to act, four hands seized him instantly, Mindless drones flashed across his mind. Samer didn't even struggle, just let them clap the iron around his wrists and ankles, they were originally for the Exociyst. Then they lead him to a tree. Samer knew what was about to happen, and what surprised him was that he was welcoming it. The 'Watcher' pulled out the brand, he'd been itching to use on Samer all week, it that held the symbol of Traitor on it in Letoewian. Samer watched as they heated it up with a torch they had been useing that night. The brand turned red orange pretty quick, it seemed to Samer. Then he was thrust to the ground and held there by strong hands. Samer could feel the heat of it before it touched the back of his neck, and prepared himself, he was not going to satisfy the 'Watcher' by yelling. The pain was excruitiating as the 'Watcher' held it to him making sure the brand would be there for life. Those twenty seconds seemed like a eternity to Samer, the pain lingered still as the brand was lifted leaving the everlasting scar. He was lifted up off the ground and then tied to a overhanging branch by his wrist. His feet a good three feet off the ground. As the troop walked away, Samer yelled to them,

"It was worth it!"

Willow paused, and pulled to one side, as the rest of the troop marched on. She hid in the shadows of a semicollapsed Exocisyt building, and peered at the hanging "traitor". Cellyus was still caught up in the rest of the group, not looking back. Punishment was swift for those who disobeyed, swifter for those who might be discourteous to their leader. Neither Cellyus nor any other Lotoewian guard was going to chance a glance back at Samer.

Willow, however, was not a Lotoewian soldier.

She crouched low, watching other groups of mindless soldiers pass. Tiny clusters of sad and bewildered Exocisytians huddled in the remains of their ransacked town. Willow wondered how the three she had saved earlier were doing, then turned her attention to Samer. The bold soldier still hung from the branches, swaying slightly in the breeze. His heavy breathing told her all she needed to know.

Still hidden, she reached for her dagger and--

"You can come out now," Samer rasped.

Willow's head shot up toward his voice. With a short laugh, she crept to the shadow of the tree, and paused, pretending to observe the punishment of an insubordinate and learning from it. When the Lotoewian commander walked past with a nod, Willow watched him leave, then turned back to Samer.

"I'm going to get you down," she whispered.

"Great, a traitor helping a traitor," Samer remarked hoarsely.

"Pffft, you're only a traitor if you are on the Lotoewian side."

"So you are an Exocisytian, huh?"

"No," was the curt reply. "Now be quiet, we can't attract atte--"

"Halt!"

"--ntion." Willow groaned as the Lotoewian soldiers shone a bright light against her and Samer. With a deft motion, she cut Samer loose, then fell to the ground next to him. "Can you fight?"

Samer nodded.

"Then get ready."

The band of five soldiers charged at them.

Relinon: What? More soldiers? Killing spree!!! Time I test my new technique. Lets try it. The Space Cutter. If I don't do this right, I could rip a vortex in the space/time continum. Here I go.

As Relinon focuses all his energy into his blade he heads for the five soldiers heading for Samer and Willow.

Relinon: DIE LOTOEWIAN SCUM!

The blade glows a red ruby color. Relinon slashes through three of the soldiers. The force of the shockwave blows some trees over.

Relinon: I don't know who you people are but you seem like Exocystian to me so RUN! GO N-

Before he finishes his sentence he gets punched in the back hard, sending him reeling.

OOC: Wow, I'm the only Zeruian in this RPG...
IC:

Nettle was in the forest, as usual. She could hear someone fighting; Lotoewian soldiers were on the planet Zeru.

Nettle: What is going on here? Soldiers are all over the place! I hope they're not Lotoewian... *takes a good look at the soldiers* :eek:! They are!

Sure enough, a group of seven Lotoewian soldiers were headed Nettle's way. They seemed to know that Nettle was their enemy... The soldiers were Malik, Kebi, Kinto, Shibe, Gallin, Orbik, and Pala.

Malik: Hey, look you guys! *he points to Nettle*

Kebi: That's funny... I thought all the Zeruians were cuddled up inside their homes...

Shibe: What's she doing out?

Orbik: (whispers to Kinto) Do you think we should call it a day? Ummm... a week? You know, I'm tired, I'm bored, and man am I hungry!

Kinto: *grabs Orbik by the collar* Yeah, hungry for battle!

Gallin: OK, quit fighting, you two! This is no time to think about food! We got a war to win!

Nettle: You know, you are some of the goofiest soldiers I've ever met.

Pala: ...

Kinto: Well? *stares at Pala* What are you waiting for? *stares deeper* ATTACK HER AT ONCE!

Shibe: Yes, sir! *takes out his sword and points it at Nettle*

Nettle grabs her necklace and opens it. Out flies Sumetre, the little forest pixie. Meanwhile, the seven soldiers all take out their weapons and charge at Nettle. Nettle pauses for a moment, then eventually fires an attack...

Nettle: *puts her hands out in front of her* (whispers) Mirror wave...

The attack sends a wave of energy in all directions, also hitting the tree in which Sky and Chaos are hiding again. Sky and Chaos, who happened to fall asleep again, wake up and jump out of the tree. Meanwhile, the wave causes the soldiers' weapons to turn around and point at them. The weapons fire at their owners.

Kebi: What? *he is killed by his own gun; the others' weapons kill their owners* :faint:

The weapons drop to the ground. Sky and Chaos, who missed most of the battle, emerged from behind the tree and saw Nettle standing next top seven dead soldiers.

Sky: What happened? :worried:

Chaos: Oh shut up. They're Lotoewian soldiers. Why else would a Zeruian be the cause of this?

Nettle blushes; this was actually the first time she actually killed someone before.

Nettle: What are you two doing here?

Sky: Well, we heard that the war has already moved here, and...

Chaos: We came to... we came to...help Zeru out?

Nettle: Well, that's a good idea...

Sky: Who are you anyway?

Chaos, Nettle, and Sky introduce themselves. Then they go into town, where they see yet even more Lotoewian soldiers.

Sumetre: Oh no, more soldiers? *flies back into Nettle's necklace and shuts herself up in it*

Nettle: *giggles* Scared, huh?

Sky: They're all over the place!

Chaos: Now what do we do?

Nettle: I don't know. I just wish this war never started! :bawl:

The man led Koro to a large white room. Bright lights shone down on around 10 scientists. The were all working with strnage looking machines Koro hadn't seen before. "Have you brought the specimen?" A scientist asked the man. "Yes. He's right over there." the man pointed to Koro. "Good." the scientist said. He returned to his desk and then turned around and showed Koro what looked like a mechanical headband. "What's that?" Koro asked. "You'll know in good time, my friend." the scientist replied. Koro pulled his hand up slowly and grasped Razin. 'That's not a good idea.' Razin warned. "Don't worry." Koro answered. "I'll make it." Koro flipped the spear out in front of him. "Looks like I'm never gonna find out what it is 'cause you'll all be dead!" Koro shouted. "Silent S-" Before Koro could finish his attack, 3 soldiers restrained him. "Let me go!" he shouted. the sholdiers strapped him to an operating table. The scientist walked up to the table, holding the stranhge device. "This is a Slave Crown, a new machine developed by out wonderful race." the scientist began gleefully. His strange happiness made Koro feel sick. "It is placed on someone's head and then a pathway to the brain through the nerves. The person then loses their free will. Sure, they can still think the way they wan't, and, if they're really strong, can talk the way they wan't. But all physical actions, like walking, are all controlled." "Damnit." Koro breathed. Suddenly, a great pain flooded through his body and he began to feel drowsy. "Have a good sleep." the scientist chuckled." Then, Koro passed out.

Samer was a little surprised at this soldier who had cut him down, but then again he was surprised with himself, for talking back the 'Watcher'. He turned towards the band of soldiers running towards them, still watching, he bent down to gather his crossbow and dirk, that had been thrown disgracefully against the tree trunk.

Loading it he took aim and glanced towards the other soldier who nodded showing he or she was ready.

Samer fired, his aim was true, it hit the soldier in the heart. Normally Samer would have hated killing anyone even a Lotoewian soldier, but somehow he didn't feel anything. By now the soldiers were at them shoting and slashing with swords. Picking up his dirk he dodged the first whose swing was wide, even though he was dwarfed by at least two or three feet, he still had their strength, maybe more. His unnaturalness of being 4'11 and weighing only 89 pounds, always showed their worth when he was fighting. Samer speeded around and back, before the guy had finished a complete circle, Samer jumped up and the soldier just under the neck. He crumpled to the ground and Samer toppled over him. Just then the soldier who had released him killed the last.

"Are we going to fight the entire troop or run for it?" He asked.

Koro awoke to find he had a splitting headache. He casually rubbed his head and blinked a few times. "Where am I?" he weakly whispered. 'Another jail cell.' Rozin answered. "Rozin....?!? You're here too?" Koro asked excitedly. "At least I'm not alone..but my head hurts like hell." 'My guess would be the Slave Crown.' "Slave Crown..." Images of the room, the scientists, and the strahge device flashed into his head. He slowly brought his hand up and felt around his forehead. Nothing----yet. He moved his hand towards his upped forhead. His forefinger touched something cold and metallic. "The....have it on me...." Koro said. "i'm doomed to serve these morons now. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS!!!" he began to trash the cell, but a searing pain surged through his body. He got a massive headache andn he began to hear a voice. "Relax. Don't do anything brash. Sit down." Koro's muscles began to lose feeling. His body uncontrollably walked to the bed, where he sat. He tried to get up, but he couldn't. "This damn crown..." he muttered. 'Calm down. there's got to be a way to break it.' Rozin comforted. "There-" Koro was cut off by the voice again. "Don't talk. There's no need to. Now, go to sleep. You'll need your rest." Once again, his body moved on it's own. It layed down and he feel asleep without even trying.

OoC: Feeling a little lost (someone clear up what just happened?), so short post.

~~~~~~~IC~~~~~~~~~
Willow stared at the dead soldiers. "Dang," she breathed. She looked at Samer, who was just as incredulous as she was.
"If we knew Exocystians were this dangerous--" Samer started, but Willow cut him off.
"Exocystians? Dangerous? You see one instance of Exocystians fighting back, and you suddenly general the whole bunch as bloodthirsty killers? Kut, you're daft!"
Samer glared at her. "SorRY! Touchy little Exo--"
"And that's another thing!" Willow cut him off again. "Stop calling me an Exocystian! I'm not an Exocystian."
"So what are you?"
"Let's just say I'm visiting, and leave it at that."
"Touchy, aren't you?"
Willow looked at him. "When you see people mindlessly and violently making idiots out of themselves, then yes. I'll feel better once we get this situation under control. So tell me, Samer--"
"How did you--?"
"--what's going on here?" Willow continued as if she hadn't been interrupted. She then paused to let Samer fill her in on Lotoewian's plan.
