AiNeko
yeah, sorry ^^; I get a bit hyper when talking about DK. Well, I'm still trying to figure out why I picked it up off the shelf in the first place o.o; I just saw it and bought it, knew nothing about it or anything o.o; Well, I didn't like the 1st volume that much either when compared to other manga, but I thought the crossdressing stuff was funny ^^; So I never thought of it as bad.. Actually thats why I continued buying it. Cause I wanted to see more crossdressing O.o; But now, with Rath, its getting to be more drama like sorta o.o; Amiboshi, have you read the 5th volume yet? [/B][/QUOTE] Un. I have the first 6. Though in 6...there was no Rath...so I was bored. T.T lol, just kidding. Yeah, 5 was really good. The Rath/Cesia part was great. Poor Rath...I'm awaiting some sad part now... >.< Nothing bad is allowed to happen to Rath! ;__; Yeah, anyway... I personally picked up the other volumes because I found a fansite with TONS of great DK pics, so I just had to see those characters and the what the story was behind them, ya know? So when I finally found vol. 2, I bough 3 with it. And I'm really glad I did. ^_^

Sere Tuscumbia
How many people have heard of Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind? Oh god, that's such a WONDERFUL manga! Because when they say "graphic novel" they MEAN "graphic NOVEL". The story is long and confusing and I still haven't finished it yet (I'm going to have to go to Wizard's Asylum and buy the third of the Perfect Collection (there's like, 6) sometime either this week or next week) but I've found that it's really hard to put down. Also, the story's got a lot of interesting twists and I'm anxious to see how it ends. ^_^ But the main story is about a princess, Nausicaa, has an ability to communicate with insects, and there is a war happening. Nausicaa, who is kind and gentle, is really the peacemaker in this war, and I feel like she's been thrown from side to side in this war. Oooo, this manga is REALLY good! And, if you've ever seen My Neighbor Totoro, or Laputa: The Castle in the Sky, or Kiki's Delivery Service, then you like Nausicaa, because it's done by the same person. Quite lovely. ^_^ And then the only other one that I'm really going to bring up right now (I know of several mangas that aren't well known of, but I don't OWN any of them *sob sob*) is Wish. Ok, so Kohaku looks like a guy more often than not, and there's some suggestive themes (there's one yaoi reference . . . at least in the first book there's only one . . . O_o;; I haven't gotten the second . . . or the third . . . or the fourth . . . gah! But go to Promenade Mall and BUY WISH!!! @_@;;) but it's a really sweet story. And I feel quite cute. ^_^ But the real story is that this doctor named Shuichiro rescues an angel named Kohaku (who is a girl! ><;;) and she says she will grant him one wish to repay him for his kindness, but he says that he needs no wishes granted. Kohaku, I do believe, will end up proving him wrong . . . ^_^ Ish quite a kyoot little romantic story (ok, ok, so I'm a sap. SO SUE ME!!) and I really enjoy it. And now I will stop my rambling. ^_^ --Sere
Genkai
Hmm... I want to say that if the manga is published here in the U.S. and widely syndicated, it's probably not that unknown... sorry ^^.... Like, Shaman King is very widely known, ad it is in Shonen Jump. Same with One Piece, etc. I'd say.. Gene Fusion or maybe...uh, Iron Wok Jan are published in the U.S., but VERY hard to find.. Especailly Gene Fusion....
