Harry
I took a job in retail in Sears, mainly for the experience and to bolster my resume a bit while making a few bucks on the side. I take five courses in college so I have a busy and stressful enough life as is. I was under the assumption that I'd get 9-5 type hours on my days off, however, they have me working Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 4 until closing(9:30 officially, 11:30 PM in reality). So, between the boring work, unacceptable working hours and pay, I can't think of a real reason to keep this job.
iggy
Well if I were you and taking all those college courses I would quit a soon as possible I think you should quit.

iggy
I had a friend who worked at hooters. They overworked her a lot and she had a lot of homework (surprises me someone who works at hooters would even be in school). She injured her arm and they still made her work, she got so pissed that she quit. So thats what you should do if they overwork you and you got classes. Take what you can get sometimes... it's not like they're resorting to prostitution or something.

I just thought it was kind of rude for you to say that you were surprised she was in school because she worked at Hooters. It's not exactly a job I can imagine anyone would really WANT, but it's just like working at McDonald's or something... sometimes it's all you can get for the moment. Lady Macaiodh
The hours they give you don't seem to leave much room for having any fun, unless you want to stay out til 4 AM or something. Then you'd have to readjust your biological clock constantly so you wouldn't be tired for your classes. It'd be better to find a job where the hours match your weekday schedule.
treton_noir
id already be gone. if you need the money, you might want to hang on to that job while you find another. if not, ditch it and go looking. i say that you might wait before you quit because of the potential down time between jobs. if your using the job as a main income source, then it would be good to secure another job before losing this one. Bing
I reckon that you should look for a job, like treton said, so you never lose any money, but keep this one gonig until you've definatley got a pl ace elsewhere. That's what I did with my paper round, and now, I get nearly double the pay I got from my old round, and I never went a week without my income. That would be my plan, so get looking!
Mitch
Life is tough. Jobs follow the same circle. Sometimes you just have to learn to live with things... But if you can find a better job that you would be more positive and more apt to enjoy, be my guest and quit the job you have now for one you would like.
LostProphet
You should be happy you have a job I've been looking since Sept. 2001, and am still unsuccessful in finding a job. The economy sucks, and if youre wanting to keep a source of income, I'd HIGHLY reccomend keep the job.

Semjaza
Doesn't Sears still only pay minimum wage as well? Hardly worth it... The Sears over on Cicero here is awful, I'd never deal with the people there. I worked at Target for about three years... The place just got worse and worse customer wise after the Walmart opened across the street. Instead of getting out at 10:30 suddenly we were getting out at nearly 2 AM. I couldn't take it anymore (there was actually a lot more to it than that), so I quit. One of the best days in recent memory heh.
