Stupid Schools.....oi.....T_T;;

Is your school anything such as....well, over-excited for school, or does it make you embarassed to go there? At our school, they make me feel like I'm back in elementary school all over again. In fact, they even built our school using the same blueprints they used for an elementary school, and the only thing that feels different from gradeschool is the classes and the work.

Example. Each morning, our student councilor--who is way too perky if you ask me. She acts like she got a hold of a Surge drink or something--reads off the morning announcements, but instead of a normal announcement, we get something that sounds like this:

"Gooood morning, Clifton Ridge Cougars!! Welcome to another day at Clifton Ridge Middle School, where it's not just a middle school, it's a.....step towards your future!!"

*shudders* Scary. >< Sometimes I wonder if she's paid extra to say that last phrase....Last year, it was similar, only the corny phrase was "....where the skies are not cloudy all day," even though it would be thundering and pouring down rain outside.... >_>;;

Back to the point. I was just wondering if our school is the only one that's like this. What are some corny or embarassing things your school does? PLEASE say that ours isn't the only one....><

Guest Anakin Solo
Errr......my vice princepal comes onto the intercom at the start of first hour, and says "words of wisdom." He does that every single day, and if for some reason he isn't there, the princpal will then do it. No one pays attention to them......

I guess that could be considered embarassing?

We have freaky hair day coming up, and I hear my math teacher and my Japanese teacher always win. >>;;

I saw my Japanese teacher's pictures from last year, and she had a rainbow wig on! >>;; (Poofy-ish)

At my previous school, my science teacher made us watch Bill Nye, and she even told us to sing along to it. oO; (Seventh Grade).

Teachers these days. u.u;;; *shakes head*

it sounds sitcom-ish to me. the whole fake excited thing...
nothing really bothered me about my school, mostly because i didnt do anything. i discovered that i could work really hard and maybe make an 'A', or do nothing and have a 'B'. hmm... tough choice... >.>
i did nothing. although do nothing works in middle and high school, it does NOT work in college. i have no study skills, note taking skills, or school work ethic. im thinking that i might have screwed myself pretty well.

This all sounds a little too weird. My school is strange too, but not AS stranbge as you guys! We had a really twerpy maths teacher once, who really scared me, becuase she was like this O_O all the time. Very scary.
At my school, little things are always really exaggerated, for example, when this boy hit his head on a vice in the Woodwork rooms, someone said his ear had been cut off with a saw?! It's a weird place, and you never seem to get the whole story! Anway, if you ask me, the whole concept of schooling is strange. Back to the stne age, no education, just learning how to hunt, cook and build!

the school I used to go to, not mentioning any names
*cough* linwood *cough*
Would force you to go to Prise giving, even if you didn't recieve a prize, and they would give you your school report there, so you had to go.

They bungled up the NCEA , but then again, most schools did whe it came to bringing in that pathetic excuse for a.. never mind.

No one comes close to Big broth... I mean my old school, in the area of stupidity that is. Reason i mixed up Big Brother with my old school is this new video surveillance, always watching thingy. Refer to novell 1984 for reference.

alot of other things too, I just can't be bothered right now.

Well this week is spirit week for us so they have things like twin day, tacky day (tomorrow), teacher dare day (haha can't wait for that^^), and PJs day :rolleyes:
They usually try to get up the school spirit by calling us Jackonites or something like that....we're now getting a mascot for our teams...really stupid mind you. A big panther.

Well, during football season and our soccer season, we're pep city..... cause we always go to the state champs, and our girls soccer team was #1 in the country. yeah...

Juu... japanese teacher? you have japanese? do you go to a private school? They don't want to have any asian languages with characters at our school because the curriculum wouldn't be similar to the other ones. the other ones would learn faster.. uggh.. makes me angry.

well Deedlit, if you think the councilor is bad when she's overly happy, picture her when she's overly mad. glory, her scream could make glass shatter. she reminds me of some little daschund that won't quit yapping.

and at the high school, there's a lovely girl who talks just like her on the intercom everyday. looks like she'll be haunting you forever.

hehehe.

at my svhool we have prep rallies...i mean pep rallies...my bad. there we have to do cheers.almost all the girls do the cheer and some of the guys actully do the cheer. me and my friends...well we are a different story. alls we do is sit down on the bleachers during the cheer and the teachers are always trying to get us to do it. luckily it's a choice.

Our school doesn't have a mascot.. or pep rallies.. or an intercom thingy.. or these 'something different' days >.>

Well our school building was just really bad. It used to be totally rubbish. When I was in Year 7 (I'm in Year 10 now), the school was two separate sites. And the buildings themselves were out of date. They were designed to be knocked down after 50 years. And the 50 years ran out in something like '79 >.>
Anyway. They knocked down one of the sites totally, and one building in the other, and rebuilt two new buildings in on the remaining site. (During me being in Years 8 and 9)
This year, they also built a new sports complex, and are planning to knock down and rebuild some more.

Don't ask what that had to do with our school being freaky. Just felt like putting down our school a little ^^

One embarassing thing about our school is the uniform. I hate it to bits. Everyone does. We're one of the few schools to have blazers. No more trainers and shirt. We now have to wear a white shirt, the black-blue school tie, black school blazer, black shoes, and black trainers >.>

*remembers football match today*
GO BURNAGE! O_o

Well... I live in Downtown-ish San Francisco, and we have 66% Asian people living here.

Sooo... Japanese isn't extra-curricular. Each grade has a period where they get either one of these for eight weeks:

(Third Period)
Computer
Woodshop
Japanese
Drama
Home Ec. (Sewing;Cooking)
Chinese

(Fourth Period)
Spanish
Art
Band
Orchestra
Drama
....something else. I have gym fourth period. @.@;

Each period is about 45 minutes, so we have to go to our Unified Arts class for 45 minutes. I go to a public school, just with alot of public school abilities. ^_^;

Mu school (k-8) has this stupid "Golden Shovel" thing. Each month one class gets this plastic shovel painted gold and they get the "privlege" of picking up trash on our campus. My class calls it the "Child Labor shovel" I think my school is just too cheap to pay someone to do it.

rotfl! That reminds me of "work day" at my old high school. One day every year was devoted entirely to cleaning. If you didn't show up that day, you got an F test grade in your worst class. The worst thing I ever had to do was clean the boys bathroom by myself with no gloves & only paper towels & a spray bottle. When I wiped underneath the urinals, black chunks fell & there was this weird yellow goo.

Also, if you got a demerit (which you could get for practically anything, like wearing a sweater inside even though the gun furnace had run out of oil in February) you had lunch detention, which was also cleaning or pulling weeds or raking leaves. You didn't get to eat. Once you got 6 demerits, you got after school detention (cleaning and/or pulling weeds and/or raking) for one hour.

Now that school was majorly cheap. I'm not making this up.

Another time, I was doing an english worksheet (I was a senior, by the way). This friend of mine, Ryan, told me to look at the bottom of the sheet. There, next to the copyright in very small letters was printed "Grammar Grade 7." Needless to say, we all got an A.

OMG! My middle school was a total hick school i mean we had one of those principals that was like i don't know how tall but he would always talk to us like little kids (must have been a lack of oxygen from how tall he is.) But then if he didn't like you, for example: ME! He would act like a total jerk towards you or your parents (even though i didn't do anything). But yeah, my middle school was waaaayyyy to weird.

Afternon rehearsals, to him ,are more imortant than anythign else., Have to make up a test on a band day? X-Nay.

Of course, band his huge at our school. 1/4 of the school is in it. ><

Another thing... once, the air conditioning system caught on fire & we were all outside singing "The Roof is on Fire" by the Bloodhound Gang, especially the "we don't need no water" part. The year after I graduated, Heritage was condemned as a fire hazard. It would have taken $1 million to get it up to par.

So they rented another building & everything got vandalized in the new one a few months later. I mean, absolutely everything was trashed. Even all the equipment, like computers & stuff. One of the students did it, but they never got caught.

You can tell this school was well-loved.

My school isn't all perky...its actually kindof dark...they don't have enough lights in the hall. Some classrooms don't have air conditioner, andmost of my classes are out on trailers any way...but the teachers all trea us like we are walking assasins. They act like we all do drugs and are about to pull out a weapon and kill somebody...pretty wierd..most of us aren't even like that..only like 10 in the whole school...its just that some of the teachers need a major reality check. Our school does hire like wierd entertainers for elementary school kids though...like yesterday..some bald hyper wierdo came in to talk to us about Trees....

Oh yeah...

We also have a lunch monitor guy, named Mr. Tam. He is sooooo weird. He's the only guy that wears a security guard hat, (even the police at school don't wear those), just because he's the lunch guy. oO;

He tries to talk 'ghetto', and snaps his fingers at the girls. When one of the girls laugh, he just says, 'You go girl~! *snap* *snap*'. He did that twice today. oO; (He's Chinese).

"we were all outside singing "The Roof is on Fire" by the Bloodhound Gang"-LM

*loves the bloodhound gang*
man, i thought my school was pretty crappy...

at my high school, we got 2 free meals daily. no body seems to understand this. its because it would cost more to pay someone to do the accounting for charging students for meals than it would to just make the food and give it away.
my school was pretty crappy, but i think LM takes the cake.
