Rhys Mayiessen
If anyone would like to join feel free to do so.... After the War in the Skies when the air goddess Luthien bannished thoses that rebelled against her the Fallen (as they are named) came to earth to wreak havoc against Luthien's precious earth in a way to defy her people and her ways. Luthien, very weak after fighting a battle that had waged on for five years had no power to stop them. Some angels offered to go and help out the other races but Luthien could hardly spare any. Some of the races that live on earth tried to stop them but in vain for the Fallen took over everything except for holy places or places that had too much greenery for they hated all things to do with nature. *~* Shayleigh walked with two other elves on patrol in the forest they had called home for so long. Though Shayleigh knew very well that the Fallen would never come anywhere near a place so full of life and spirit, she felt that they needed to watch the borders. Shayleigh, using the intracate hand signals of the silent code, signaled that they could rest for a while while she look some more. The two elves sat down right away for they had been on their feet for more than four hours. Shayleigh sighed softly and concentrated. The elves were not surprised when two white wings started to grow out of her back. She had learned at an early age how to control her wings and how to make them disappear at will. When they had grow to their full length, Shayleigh sprang into the air and flew high above the tree tops looking for anything unusual along the borders of the forest. She thought she spotted something to her right and sped off to investigate.
tursi
caytin sits in the corner of her dark room, reading a book intitled "the complete book of shakeshperes sonets" she fliped the page and scanned it then closed the book. she went to her window, her wings moved gracefully with her. she pulled open the curtians and stared out and into the lake below. she pulled back her wet brown hair and her eyes grew soft. she decided to go down to the lake. she put up an illusion and went down there. her illusion was that of a small girl, green eyes, brown hair in a ponytail, blue shirt and tan pants. she went outside and sat down, and put her feet in the lake. Caytin: what's this feeling? i feel so calm, at peace. i like this feeling. Caytin looked down at her reflection, which reflected her real self, she looked at her self and sighed knowing that this wouldn't last for long, soon she would have to round up her old friends. Darkmoon
Talia rested on the ruff branch of a tall tree. The tree seemed very old and large. It's branches had long since ceased to grow leaves, each of it's withered twig's seemed to have a story of it's own to tell. Scratch mark's of rodent's and long scorches running up and down the side telling of a great fire that had once happened here. But Talia didn't find any interest in these. Instead she looked up at the velvety blue of the night sky. The night had always been a releif of a sort to her. It's cool breeze seemed to wash away the harsh rays of the sun and of reality, helping her forget... The smell of the vegitation around her didn't seem so bad either. Talia sat there, her wings folded and her eye's closed. Dreaming of the time when all wasn't so bad. The feeling of rage slowly bubbled up inside of her as she once again thought of the day she had been banished. She had never been able to forget that day. She let out her breath slowly, pushing away the memory and attempted to enjoy the night while it was still young.
The Harlequin
Rali drifted aimlessly, the membranous muscles in his wings easily holding rigid over the thermals. The cavern seemed to shrink away from him on all sides, asiding the lava down in the bowels. The bowels of the cavern, the bowels of the earth. The deeps, where no surface race had ever touched. Deities, angels, wars, nothing mattered down here. You were one with the few races that did live here, against that horrors that also made this place their home. A huge fire drake, longer than any such beast on the surface had been for millenia, arced out of the pit of molten rock, falling back in with a huge splash. The thick, viscous lava splashing nevertheless. Rali made no move to avoid it. A single drop landed on one of his outstretched arms. He looked at incuriously, then flicked it off. It didn't leave a mark. Rali could have swam through the sizzling pool below him with the same impunity. He sighed slightly, and glided downwards, in a sharp spiral to the ledge were he currently made his home. It was convenient, given its location. More like a horizontal slit in the rock, it could only be reached by a winged creature, and one willing to tempt a fire drake's, or bretzattu's as his race called them, wrath. Not a prospect many enjoyed. Bu this drake had quite early on found that its massive head was not large enough to fit through the opening in the rock, and that its fire did not hurt its inhabitant. Rali was six feet tall. He walked in with nearly a foot to spare. He smiled grimly, the expression invisible on his midnight face, and wondered how the Lightdwellers would feel faced by such a creature. And that was one of the lesser drakes. And drakes were by no means the top of the food chain. Subterranean passages, some open, some filled with molten rock by some bizarre phenomenon, riddled this area. Most of the Underworld actually. Rali didn't really understand how the filled ones didn't melt the rock around them, but he didn't care. It made for fast movement, provided you knew where you were going. He kicked a two foot long crab away from his bed roll, out in the lava. A mere tidbit for the drake. He wondered how the creature had gotten here. The creature, he realised, was a parasite. It lived on the drake's scales. It must have dropped off at some point when the drake had been looking for a meal. Rali lay down, wondering what else could conceivably be carried up here. He made another scratch on the wall. That made 148 now. And that was just since reaching this haven. Exile grew tedious.
Rhys Mayiessen
Shayleigh lightly touched the soft green grass as she landed, hardly making a dent at all. She quickly willed her wings to disappear in case an outsider happened to be walking about. She surveyed her surrounding with careful scrutiny, not letting even the tiniest bug get past her gaze. That's when she saw something at the very edge of the forest and the edge of her vision. It was just a shadow but Shayleigh was certain it wasn't of an elf. She quietly walked closer and found that the figure was sitting in a tree that appear to have died long ago. Shayleigh sharply intook air as she saw something very odd about the shadow, it had wings. She slowly pulled the bow off her back and notched an arrow to it. Shayleigh would take no chances in the welfare of her people but she knew that she had to give the Fallen a chance to explain themself. She walked forward some more until she was sure that the figure could clearly see her and see that she was armed. Shayleigh-"I mean you no harm if you don't mean any harm to the forest or its inhabitants. Step out of the shadows of the tree so I may see you clearly."
tursi
caytin gets up from near the pond, still holding her illusion, and feels something in the air. she ignored it and went into the village to look for something to do. but then the same feeling came over her, she couldn't figure out what it was, so she decided to investigate it. she followed where the feeling had come from, the forest. as she walked through she heard voices. and stopped to see one that looked like her next to a tree. voice:I mean you no harm if you don't mean any harm to the forest or its inhabitants. Step out of the shadows of the tree so I may see you clearly. caytin fell back into the darkness and waited to see what would happen. if she got caught she still looked like a little girl, she didn't wory about it. silently, she watched the situation unfold before her. Darkmoon
Talia's eye's snapped open and she looked down to see who had called out. It was one of the goddess' pets. But Talia found something strange about her appearence... She couldn't quit place her finger on it. Talia- I do not care to harm any of this forests inhabitants. I don't feel much like moveing either. You might as well put your weapon down, you will not need it. Shayleigh seemed to ponder on the Fallen's answer for a miniut, not really sure how to reply. Shayleigh- How do I know you speak truth? Come down now and revil yourself to me. Talia glanced down at her. She was getting slightly annoyed at this disturbance. She got up and rested in a crouching position. Talia- I was here first. If I intended any harm to anyone I would have done so long before. How about you come up here and we can chat? There was a slight hit of amusment in Talia's voice that had a somewhat negative affect on Shayleigh. "This is not a game. The dark-winged one is already in a bad situation. She is only makeing things worse for herself", Shayleigh thought to herself.
tursi
caytin was almost going to burst out in laughter at talias and the other persons actions. what do they think their're doing? it's like playing cat fight. nothing's going to get done. she climbed into a tree to get a better veiw of of her friend. the person trying to get her to move looked like an angel, but she could tell that he wasn't. he probably didn't even compare in power. she stayed silent and watched. Outlaw
Alexander trudged along on his faithful stead Shadow as he had done everyday for months. He had scoured the earth in search of the Fallen, but always seemed to be just a few steps behind them. He had seen so much bloodshed, so many kingdoms crushed at their hands. He had to find them, and stop them. In the distance, he spoted a small village, overshadowed by a thick forrest. Alexander: Seems that this village has not yet been struck eh Shadow. We sould see if we can find any clue, and a bit to eat. Shadow, ofcource, said nothing, but continued towards the village. But as they crossed the open ground towards the town, Alexander spotted something out of the corner of his eye. Lieing in a patch of grass 100 yards to his left was a feather. A black feather. Quickly, he yangked Shadow's reins in the direction of the feather. Shadow bolted in that direction, coming to a full stop directly infront of the feather. Alexander dismounted and lifted the feather. But he knew it wasn't what he was lokking for. The feather was too small, to weak. It was probobly from a crow or a raven. Distraut, Alexander remounted his horse and continued on towards the village.
Rhys Mayiessen
Shayleigh frowned. Shayleigh-"Fine. I will give into your request but I will not put my weapon away." Taila-"Fine I don't care. Its not like I can't defend myself." Shayleigh took flight and landed in the tree just a few feet away from the Fallen. Taila looked like any other human Shayleigh had seen expect for the pitch-black wings coming out of her back. She seemed to have a sad air around her but Shayleigh believed that it was a trick of the Fallen. Taila-"Now what do you want of me? I never knew it was a crime to sit in a tree." Shayleigh-"It might be for a Fallen. Now tell me what are you doing near the elves forest?"
tursi
the elves forest? you've got to be kidding me...all this time i've been living next to the elves forest! she thought to herself, then she looked at the goddesses little helper. so he was half elf, now this made sence. she decided that her kin could take care of herself. she smiled and decided to take the form of a teenager and backed away. once she was free of the forest she went to her room and opened up her chest box. inside she kept her sword and daggers. she pickde up then sword and swung it around in practice. then she smiled. caytin: it is time to call them my friend. the sword glowed and emited a quick burst of light then inscriptions appeared on the sword. it was of holy words, but it didn't matter in the hands of a fallen, the were still considered holy to this sword. she placed the sword into it's scabbrd and pulled out the daggers each with twin dragons engraved in them. their jeweled eyes shined as she got out a stone, and started to shrpend it. The Harlequin
Rali watched as the huge teeth clashed in front of the opening. for the first time, he contemplated leaping into that welcoming embrace. To allow himself the pain, the agony....the release. The freedom. The oblivion... As always, the pros outweighed the cons. He simply couldn't be bothered. Besides....giving the drake the satisfaction of winning went against his grain. The maw subsided away, turning into a huge, reptilian eye. Rali waved laconically, and the eye too disappeared. He waited until he heard the huge splash before rising. Once before, he had flown out, to find the drake three feet below him. A very close call. He rose to the top of the cavern again, watching the drake leap for him. It was a game they had played many times. One that the drake had come close to winning several times. Rali wondered how he ever won. Surely, evasion didn't count. It was still a losing proposition. He smiled suddenly, and turned on a tangent, flying towards another large gap in the rock. Flying through, he ended up in a slow moving lava stream. His body twisted through, the lack of bones making it easy for him to contort into any position neccessary. He ended up in another large cavern, nearly identical to the first. But this one was open. He floated in the middle of a volcano. He rocketed upwards, gaining as much height off the thermals as he could before gliding down the steep slope, landing in one of the forests that seemed to always surround volcanoes.

Shayleigh started to back up from the evil glare but realized that she was in a tree. Turning her back on Talia, Shayleigh jumped down and willed her wings away. Talia looked at her suspiciously. Talia-"You are not full angel are you?" Shayleigh-"No I am part elf as well but I am not weaker by any means. Do not doubt that." I'm surprised you didn't try to kill me already." Talia leaned back against the tree and got herself comfertable. Shayleigh had stoped in mid air, her back still towards Talia. Talia- "I'll leave when I feel like it." Shayleigh looked back up at Talia ready to answer that statment of the Fallen's, but fell short. Talia was looking up at the star's. Her eye's seemed distant as she thought scilently to herself. Her eye's were the only thing that gave off any sort of emotion. They seemed to glow with a hidden flame. The same feeling of sadness seemed to ride the breeze, though this time with anger. I guess I owe you an apology." Talia looked at Shayleigh trying to act stern. Talia-"I accept your apology though have have no mind to converse with elves." Shayleigh sighed. Darkmoon
Talia peeked down and saw the elf walk cautiously towards the edge of the small clearing. Looking in the direction that she was walking, Talia noticed some movement. Bending down for a clear view she saw what the elf was heading towards. It looked to be a young girl in her early teens. Talia was surprised when she suddenly looked up at her. Their eye's locked a moment. They both exchanged a look of surprise. each for being spotted by the other. Their connection was brocken as The girl walked under the cover of some trees. There was something odd about her eye's... For a second they seemed somewhat older than they really were.... Shayleigh: and what are you doing out here so late. caytin: admiring the nightsky, and the ancient trees. it's quite peaceful out here. shayleigh: well it's a little late to be out young one. as shayleigh went on. caytin zoned out and looked toward talia. i don't look that young do i? talia once again locked gazes with her. she could tell talia was supicious. shaleigh: so i think you should go home now child. caytin: (mummbles) i hate being called a child, shaleigh: what did you say caytin: i'm not a child, i'm a young adult and wish to be talked to like one. shaleigh: just leave. caytin: and miss an oppertunity to see to people complain? better then what's happening at home. caytin hopped onto a rock and smiled as she watched to elf and talia. Caytin-"Not forever just until it gets boring." Talia-"You have no right to tell us to do anything." Shayleigh sighed. It seemed that Talia was sticking with the teenage girl for some odd reason. She never knew that any of the Fallen had any compassion for any other creature on earth. Shayleigh looked back over her shoulder at the human girl sitting on the rock. There was something strange about her, like she had a more sophisticated air about her. It seemed that Talia had seen that too. Talia-"So where are you from and why do you come to an elven forest?"
tursi
caytin just smiled, she didn't respond but with a small giggle. Shayleigh: what do you find so funny girl? caytin: i'd just never seen your kind around. caytin felt the illusion was starting to break, decided to introduce her self. caytin: i thought i was the only one who lived out here that had wings. Talia: what do you mean, your just a human girl. Caytin smiled as the illusion wore off and her raven wings glistened in the moon light, her red eyes watched them playfully. caytin: just a simple illusion. (standing up) I'm caytin, i live on the other side of this forest near the glass lake. i felt an unknown presences around and thought to check it out. Caytin smiled as she did a small bow and rose again, this time off the ground. talia: you've got to be kidding me. Rhys Mayiessen
Shayleigh looked at Caytin with suspition. She couldn't believe that she couldn't see through that phony disgiuse. Shayleigh shook her head, she couldn't believe that she now had two Fallens to worry about loitering near the elven forest. She was a commander for god's sake wasn't she suppose to protect the forest? Protect it from what though? These Fallen obviously weren't hurting anything in the forest, they seemed almost lonely to her. Maybe all the stories she had heard about them were wrong. You can't always judge a book by it's cover. Shayleigh came back out of her thoughts to hear the second Fallen say her name. Caytin-"And mine is Caytin." Talia in the tree, swung down and landed softly on the ground. She stepped up to Caytin, eying her carefully. Caytin stepped back from the intense gaze.
