How I hate them.
You might know those casual little gossip pieces that go around schools sometime? There's [i]my[/i] situation as well.
It just happens that I dread school sometimes. I don't feel like going because of all the rumors that will start each day. There is a list of over 30 rumors.

All about me.

And it really drives me insane. To know that everyone seems to have somethign against me, to know that everyone makes up somethign each day and by the end the hole class knows.
Sure just my class. No big deal right? Try my whole school! seriously, ask anybody.
What kills me the most is that its not just in school. Somebody pretened to be me on a friend's SN. They go and IM this girl and pretend to be me. They say "Hi Leslie this is Nolan and I totally love you!" and I have no idea.
I talk to people who might know who started them, and they don't care. "Why should you care so much about a stupid rumor? I don't!" and they ignore me. I tell them tis because they're never involve din any rumors.

Every single rumor in my school is about me. You wouldn't believe all the junk I hear. It really just kills me. It makes me so upset to know people out there who are trying to ruin my life. Eve people who I see almsot everyday.

ARGH!!!! i hate those so very much. . . 5th grade was the worse EVER. . .

the entire upstairs of the school (5th 6th and 7th grade) all they could talk about this rumor made by this boy...

it was about me and what HE did with me in some bush tree fort...

girls would walk up to me and ask if it was true... UGH... how annoying...

Hey, its not that bad...

I had the best and I mean, best girl in the school under my thumb. (and I really mean best, she was soooooo far out of my league I cant even tell you. but I will try.)

She was so far out of my league that I didn't even get nervous around her because I wasn't even in the least thinking about the possibility of her liking me. It allowed me to be myself like never before.

She was about 5'10" 115-125lbs. Dirty blonde, truely a girl I call beautiful before almost any other I have met. She was amazing beyond anything I could ever explain to you all. Not only all that, but my dirty *** had nothing to do with the most popular and prepy kids in the school, who were all her friends.

I had spent all my time with her for the last 2 months and I was now close to sure she was diggin' me. All my and her friends told me that and I couldn't believe it.

That new years eve, she spent the night at my house after the party I threw...

When we came back to school it was litterally crawling with rumors.

Everything from us doing drugs together, to straight up getting it on.

Needless to say, things never worked out and I was barely friends with her ever again.

So next time you think its bad, think about kent and the girl that got away.

Sooo.... good luck with your problem and remember that it will pass eventually.

This sorta sounds like your in grade school of some sort, and I know how kids that age act... there will be another rumor soon enough and they will forget about your troubles.

[color=darkblue]I know this is hard advice to follow, but just try to let it roll off you. Some people get singled out for rumors more than others. They could be joking or they could be trying to get to you. If you show them you don't care, they might lay off. But there's no predicting the responses of immature kids. The best thing to do is beat them at their own game.

Or you could get all mean & hard, then they'll be afraid to say ****![/color]

About two times a day I get asked "Are you and *insert name here* going out" and of course I say no. He has a few more rumors about him going around but they don't last long. I had to even talk to our student body president, Laura. Someone I don't usually like talking too - since she kinda helped start the rumors.

I hate it when rumors force me to do things i don't want to do, just to clean up the lies.

[color=009966]Rumors are awful. Just last year, someone (I won't say who....) at my school was spreading all these terrible rumors about me, and it got me so pissed. He was really trying to make my life a living nightmare. How I hate him now....

Anyway, he stopped making all those rumors after it nearly got into a full out fight, and it's been about a year ever since. Just make it clear that they're not true, they piss you off, and let it go. They'll forget about it. Eventually.....[/color]

ugly rumors and i mean UGLY rumors go around about me. things like "she got pregnant wit *insert name here*" ofcourse that was only an example. more like...well i won't say but it's pretty nasty things. things that would never happen. some are not as wirse like "she's ditching anime" i would never ditch anime.

i also hate rumors and nothing can stop them :(

Rumors. Boy oh boy, I have had over ten people this year spread rumors about me. First it was that I had no life and I worshiped my video game consoles (yeah, right :rolleyes: Like that's really true.) Next was I wanted to fight all the "gangsta" kids when I don't even know who half these people are. I mean, I don't want to fight nor did I say anything to that extent. All I said was leave me alone. My point is, rumors are very annoying and if anything gets too serious I would report it to a school official immediately.

two years ago, a good friend of mine (I'll call her Jan) moved here during the halfway point in the school year. things started out okay for her at first. then a group of girls got up in her face and called her all this rude junk one day, so she retaliated back with a couple of her own insults. after that, a so-called 'friend' to both of us at the time spread rumors about her, saying that she was bolemic and wanted to kill herself. now since Jan had talked back to the group of girls, most all of the other girls didn't like her, since the group of girls was really popular. then everybody found out she was an atheist, and thought she was some Satan-worshipper since she believed in evolution, which got everybody calling her things like 'monkey' and 'ape'. so since people didn't like her anyway, people believed the rumors. at that point, I was literally the only one that was sticking up for her; it was a horrible mess. then the same girl who started the rumors about her went to the counselor saying the same stuff. Jan almost got into a huge amount of trouble from that, along with all the other stuff she was going through. eventually, everybody found out about the backstabbing wretch who spread those lies about her, so they started backing off. but I'll never forget all that, and how some people can be so closed-minded and cruel because of physical/religious/status differences.

soooooo yeah. I hate rumors. and I have no respect for people who start them.

I havn't had any rumors about me going around school lately, and I havn't heard many about other people either. I guess either my school doesn't spread a lot of rumors, or I'm never in some group to hear it. Last rumor I heard was of my friend who got suspended for 10 days for drinking, and all these rumors were going around that the suspension also included mixing drinks (alchoholic drinks, that is), selling knives, and selling drugs or something. I know most of them arn't true though.

I suppose the last rumors spread were from back a couple years with these two kids...but I don't really want to talk about that. ^_^ Instead, I want to tell you my idea of getting rid of some of these rumors. Taking from that kid I mentioned who got suspended, I recommend just going along smoothly with the rumors. If someone confronts you about one, act serious, but with a little smile, and say "Yup" and agree to everything to the extent that people can tell that there is no possible way that it can be true, and that you are joking. If you don't come off as a joker, however, just laugh at them when they ask if a rumor is true, and really exagerate the rumor. Like, TheDarkOtaku was saying how people were spreading rumors about him worshiping his video game consoles. I'd say just laugh out loud, and say something like "Yup, I keep a seperate room for my consoles and bow down to them every night." *shrug* Try those kinds of things if you havn't, but if they don't work, then just think of something creative to say to them in the form of a comedic come-back.

Yep, great point Syk. :) I always say stuff like "ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY GAMECUBE!" or "PS2 SHALL REIGN FOREVER!" Even though it may seem childish, it works.;) I would also try this approach. Helped me a lot.

I love rumors, lol. They are one of the funniest things I know. I never start them, because it is more enjoyable to hear them. One time sophomore year, I was talking with this girl I know and she said something along the lines of, 'Man, I have not started a rumor in a long time.'

My immediate response?

"Tell people I am gay."

[size=1]Rumors are stupid, but everyone knows that. Over the years there has been a fair share of rumors about me, and like most rumors, some of it is rooted in fact while the greater majority of it is pure fiction.

Of course, if half of the rumors about me were true then my life would be a lot more interesting than it actually is. Heh.

Most of the rumors about me start from either him or one of his friends, and each of them get pretty serious around the school. They said I liked this guy named 'Jerry', and I don't even know who he is. oO;

One of his friends who are girls started that rumor. I had never even talked to her before she started the rumor, and she told everyone that I hid 'Juu loves Jerry' in my screenname. Oh..my god. I hate it the most when someone who doesn't even know you one bit starts a rumor about you. I mean, I can understand if someone I know starts a rumor about me, because that person actually has some knowladge of what kind of person I am. But if someone I don't even know starts a rumor about me, I get really, really upset.

In elementary school there was this rumor that I was going out with my friend. Even my family made fun of me. I haven't heard any rumors about me lately. People probably think I'm a Satan-worshipper (though I don't believe in Satan) or a suicidal maniac because I'm quiet. They say things like "Don't mess with quiet kids. They'll kill you." It's annoying, to say the least.
