Mudvayne.

Meh, does anybody here (besides the obvious people) even know who Mudvayne is? Have you heard the [semi]new album? I have always like Mudvayne, but I never considered them a great band. Until I heard Not Falling, Shadow Of A Man, and A Key To Nothing. All the other songs on End of All Things To Come are great too, but these three really stand out.

So what is everyone?s opinion on Mudvayne?

My opinion is that Mudvayne's new CD is awful and anything that made me think they'd interest me based on the first CD has been thrown out the window.

I remember when they first were getting popular, that they mentioned that Manson's early Portrait stuff was one of their main inspirations. I don't know where the hell that went, as all that remains is a type of metal that I really just do not like listening to anymore.

I'd probably be a huge fan of them if this were five years ago, but a lot of my tastes have changed.

Care to elaborate more on this? The songs have geat meaning, and questions. Such as The end of all things to come . This song is mainly about the government wasting time, and how everyone should realize the mortality of life.

Shadow of a Man. Now there is a great song. Written well, and great meaning. it poses a great question as well. Do you reflect the world, or does the world reflect you?

Not Falling Great first single. Wonderfull song about independence. " I'll stand, not crawling, not falling down. "

A Key to nothing I like it, but it's not my favorite. Meh.

[Per]version of a Truth Love it. Shows that most of what people show and say are really lies.

Skrying great sng about children, or adolessent age people, or grown up people finding that place to go away for awhile.

The Patient Mental Love it. But thats just because I'm bipolar, and often have dreams about being a mental patient in a rubber room, being stared at, and always diagnosed. " i'm just like a clock upon the wall. Always moving, but never going anywhere"

Silenced great song about how the world's youth are silenced today. In a nutshel at least.

Thats most of the songs, i actually have yet to relocate the cover Ifor the cd, so I dont have all 12 songs.

All in all, they are a great band. That, and they are from my home town. Peoria, Illinois baby.

Every song in the world has meaning to it, and I am sure we've all heard many songs that are have far more than these do. That wasn't my point honestly. The message of a song doesn't mean much to me if I don't like the sound at all.

I have the limited edition version of this, I bought it when it was first released. So yeah, I'm familiar with the songs and everything. Again, I just do not like how they sound (that should answer the question, as it's why I don't like the CD).

Like I said, the more I listen to music the more I look for completely different things. Stuff like this just doesn't interest me like it used to unless it brings something new or just really damn good to the table. I don't feel this CD did either of those things personally.

That was my problem, I guess I wasn't clear enough about that.

Edit - Added some more.

Mudvayne is horrible. I'd rather be listening to Demon Hunter, Chimaria, Skinlab, etc then that crap that they are trying to put as Metal. The first album I didnt really like except for Dig and Nothing to Gein, the second album made me vomit all over my stereo.

I don't know... When there are bands like Down putting out amazing metal albums (well in the case of them, they rarely put out anything heh), stuff like Mudvayne isn't even allowed to enter my thought process.

And I'm willing to mail the new album to you treton_noir if you pay the shipping (couldn't be all that much). It's the limited edition version and completely mint. I never listen to it, and the DVD has never even been touched.

now for the kicker........

TRUE Mudvaynes first cd sucked so bad they got almost no recognition

TRUE Mudvaynes second cd L.D. 50 (named for the manner in which poison is tested) was excellent

TRUE Mudvaynes latest is bad. Terrible. First off they sound like a big repetitive washing machine full of rocks. The dark growly voice that defined a Mudvayne song is gone. They should have stayed the way they were.

I've never listened to them, and I doubt I ever will. I might go and download a song or two, see how they sound, but that'll be it for me. I'm not into this heavy heavy metal stuff anymore. I'm more into the classical rock bands of the 80's and 70's. But I'm all ears, and I'll give them a shot once I get to it, I suppose.

But I do doubt I'll like them.

I agree with Vegitto4 abunch of new fans of that type of music are popping up.

Personally I love Mudvayne, always have and always will. I don't have any of their CD's (at the moment). Will have them very soon (friends burning them as we speak.) So yeah I love them. Not Falling is a great song. All of them are great songs in their own way.

So I love Mudvayne, and I want more!

Those songs are what brought me to like Mudvayne. Love 'em.

I haven't heard of their new album yet, though hopefully I get the money to buy it when it's available here.

Oh how I hate Mudvayne. They are just way to meatal. I could listen to them, but I would rather not. They are not the best, and they could be better. I am not a fan, and I can't understand what they are actually saying. I'm not interested in them.

I got one of there CD's, listened to it, and then sold it on ebay.

Look, isnt this a thread for Mudvayne fans? If you dont like Mudvayne, dont post anything. Its just that simple.

As for me, I love Mudvayne. Theyre my second favorite band.

I will admit that L.D. 50 was better the The End Of All Things To Come but I like it. I also like The beginning Of All Things To Come, the re-release of their first album, Kill I Oughta.

I also prefered their look with the freaky make-up then their new alien look, or Zeta, they call it.

My most favorite song I would have to say is Nothing To Gein, with Not Falling a close second.

Overall, I think Mudvayne is a great band with great sound and vocals.

I never really listened to their whole album, but I caught myself several times turning the volume up super loud when the song, "Not Falling," starts to play. That song is really awesome. It helps me lose steam when I get upset.

im sorry to burst your bubble
but if you consider Mudvayne as a different style of 'metal', then you have to realise that all the bands you had just put up are actually under that same "genre" which the media and recorda companies would like to say is 'Nu-Metal'.

I personally Like mudvayne, well actually only one of their albums L.D. 50.
Production of that album wasnt too raw or too produced, and i could relate to some of the songs in that album. I sadly didnt see them when they came down here to Australia, and I dont think they ever will come back here again.
If you also like Mudvayne, check out Slipknot aswel..
