Anime A Few Questions

Ok, I have only seen the anime, all 26 episodes of greatness, and I have a few questions that perhaps I can be enlightened ^_^

WARNING************spoilers ahead***************


1. What are Angel Blades? I know only of the Angel Arms, but I heard the Blades mentioned somewhere.

2. Does Legato have his psychic abilities because he has Vash's arm? This is one Im most uncertain of, and also has his life been extended in any way because of this?

3. Sometimes in the manga, images the back of Vash's hair looks black, is there any reason for this other than a fashion statement?

4. What the heck does Knives's cool black coat look like?

6. Any one know anything of when the manga will be translated? (Then I can find out for myself ^_^)

7. In the Diablo episode, what is Vash talking about in the Boot store? "There something else I want to know. I'll abide by your rules, I wont make any trouble....."

I've never heard of Angel Blades - it could be from a whole different anime. Otherwise, maybe they are the guns? I doubt it though, since they are the last thing to blades, lol.

That's a really good question. I had forgotten about the arm, and I figure that this must be the reason. Otherwise, I'm not sure how he would be able to do the things that Knives can do, or be able to set Vash's gun off with the a snap of his fingers. It seems that everyone in Knives's crew has something materialistic that helps them battle.

Though I havn't seen this, I suppose it's just a shadow. I don't think Vash's hair has ever been or will be black.

I intend to buy the manga when they are translated or I learn Japanese, whichever comes first!

And here's the (abbreviated) answers to all your questions. I'm a self-named Trigun whore...its sad but I actually know this stuff.


1. What are Angel Blades? I know only of the Angel Arms, but I heard the Blades mentioned somewhere. ---Knives produces these huge organic blades/knives from his arm, just like Vash and the Angel Arm. They can destroy cities and even cut down satalites high up in the atmosphere with absolute precision. Uber-cool. I think I can root up a picture for you?

2. Does Legato have his psychic abilities because he has Vash's arm? This is one Im most uncertain of, and also has his life been extended in any way because of this? ---Whether Legato was born with his powers or gained them after attaching the arm is unknown and up to debate. He's also relatively old - about mid-forties(!). Doesn't look it, does he? His growth stopped when he attached the arm after July City, this we know.

3. Sometimes in the manga, images the back of Vash's hair looks black, is there any reason for this other than a fashion statement? ---Plants are energy beings as you know, they are born with a set amount of power in them (albiet a very vast amount). When a Plant uses up too much of their energy, they begin what is called a decline. Their hair starts to turn black, and if they use even more of their power and their hair turns completely black, they will eventually die. Vash used up so much power in Augusta that he began his decline. Don't worry though, Vash still has a lot of blonde left in him!

4. What the heck does Knives's cool black coat look like? ---I've seen a picture of it once; I don't think Knives wears it too often. But it is extremely cool, with lots of spikes on the shoulders and a huge spike through his chest and back - he looks like he's been impaled or something, very big on protecting his personal space I guess. Mini-Knives can tell you more...

6. Any one know anything of when the manga will be translated? (Then I can find out for myself ^_^) --- Yasuhiro Naightow confirmed it WILL be translated, but the main problem is finding a publisher who'll make sure it remains as close to the original as possible. He also is very picky about not having the artwork "flipped".

7. In the Diablo episode, what is Vash talking about in the Boot store? "There something else I want to know. I'll abide by your rules, I wont make any trouble....."
;) ---The shoemaker also ran a black-market business in ammunitions.

I went to that site and I read it ALL in one go.

All I can say is WOW! My desire to get a hold of the manga now has only been fueled, even if I can only get it in Japanese! I did see it somewhere once.......and I can't remember where, AAARGH!!

I personally hate flipped images, i cant bear the thought of Vash's mole being under the wrong eye and I dont think Im being picky about that. *__*
Still, I wait in eager anticipation!!

3. I've seen it and it's true that sometimes it is darker at the back, no idea why

4. as far as I know, it's vash's coat from the manga he has a black oen too, it looks exactly like the red one but black, stop me If i'm wrong

Ive seen the pictures of Knives with the "Angel Blades", I dont know if thats what they are refered to as, but they are blades all the same ^_^ and geez is Knives creepy!

Ive ordered the manga from Japan ^_^ and when it arrives all will be revealed with that helpful site, my trusty dictionary, immense patience and...um....embarrassing amount of spare time *_* its for educational purposes!!

hah, I know how that feels, got so much spare time I'm making a medieval version of trigun as a neverwinter nights module :S, angel blades, still not head of em, oh here we go, just looked it up, his arm errupts into a mass of blades when he uses his 'angel blades' I dunno if he needs his revolver to do it I don't have time to read the manga translation, but those manga translations on the site I put up mention em, oh and the diablo thing, it's impossible to tell just from the anime you'll have to check the manga I think :S my guess is it's something gun related or checking int knives or something similar, 'shoes aren't the only things you sell' my guess is guns and he needs to know if he's sold some recently

Well, as far as Angel Blades go, take this into consideration... His name is KNIVES isn't it? Maybe he has these all mythical Angel Blades I keep hearing about and an angel arm. While Vash (who just seems kind of weaker than Knives [I love that guys name!:D ]) only has an Angel Arm... DON'T SUE ME IF I'M WRONG. All I got it the entire series and a couple of pictures of Trigun. :(

Hey thanks everyone ^__^

Its ok, I understand now (as much is possible). Vash isnt weaker, he just doesnt like hurting folks, he didnt seem to know how anyway, and the light in the revolver resides in his right arm in the manga, all the plants have a core like it.

The series have taken some artistic licence to change some things which has most likely led to some of my confusion.
