Subversive
Was anyone else throughly pissed at the ending? I mean possibly the greatest anime ever, and then bam typical anime ending. I mean I was already mad when Wolfwood died well atleast that was well done, but all the episodes leading up to the end were great and then...>.<
tursi
arg...i know what you mean... i was mad and sad at the end of trigun.
Plant_Angel
I was mad because it was the end. I think it leaves enough up to the imagination, besides, it was the story of Vash learning an important lesson, and once he had, that was where the story ended. Though, I do wish there was more...... ThePikasElbow
The ending was very disappointing for me. Trigun is one of the few anime series that I have seen that keeps getting better and better as it progresses. Numerous series have their slow parts, but not Trigun. I found each DVD to be better than the last. I expected the ending to be absolutely amazing, but I was let down. I'm ok with leaving some stuff to the imagination, but they left pretty much everything for you to figure out. I mean, what are they going to do with Knives? He's an insane killer, and now he's just supposed to stop? Are they supposed to live happily ever after? And what about Vash and Meryl? I know they care for each other, but Vash never ages so I don't see how it can work out. Oh well, it's best just to forget about it, it was a good series even with the almost incomplete ending. Guest 9Eagle7Dragon
Let me let you all into a little secret: It's called www.fanfiction.net. Trigun is one of those animes where YOU can finish the ending. It makes for very fun conversation with my otaku friends, as I loooooove making crossovers. My newest is having Knives' head on Garfield's body, and him whacking a spider as it scuttles by. Then a little thought bubble saying "What, you read this every day in the funnys. Why the look?" Of course he's talking to the reader about how the Spider & Butterfly thing works, so it has bizzarly special significance. If you don't know about the Spider and the Butterfly, don't worry about it, it doesn't matter until later, and it's not that important of a spoiler. It only fits another piece of the billion piece jigsaw puzzle as to why Knives is the f-ed up psycho he is today. Wow, sooner or later i'm going to have to call the Genesis book of world records for longest meaningless rant in a single thread. Anyhoo... Fan fiction is what Trigun's ending was made for. You didn't like the ending? Make up your own.
Guest TLOL_Vash
the ending has it's meaning, plus they left it open for a sequel :), which never made it, unfortunately, I wanna see more Vash, plus I would've preferred meryl to admit it to vash on screen
Spinnelein
Can I rant? ...okay. I hate the anime more and more every time I watch it. It's great and all, but the last five episodes are like, WTF? I think it's rushed, not very much of it makes sense or anything. The animation's sloppier, too. Makes me think of the last bit of the Evangelion series... ::: shudders ::: And both my favorite characters (still very alive in the STILL-ONGOING manga) get whacked. Plus all the Merylcrushing, which is just gross. Read the bloody manga!!!! :::: lunges at random bystander with spork ::: ::: end rant :::
Plant_Angel
Reading the translations, I agree with you. The anime has missed an awful lot out of the manga leaving me with many questions (you may have noticed ^_^) Some of the animation did get rather sloppy, especially in the Fifth Moon episode *cringe* The fight with Knives was a little dissapointing, does he really expect Knives to just say "Oh.....right, I see. Sorry about that everyone...a little miss-understanding" Having said that, I really thought they did a good job of Legato's final scene, it was so.....EVIL I wonder if they will make anymore.......? Maybe not, seeing as most of the cast were bumped off....*_*
Guest 9Eagle7Dragon
Read the Manga. Knives at least gets some decent air time. Also, a note about Legato's death... He really wouldn't have fallent to the side if shot point blank in the forehead with a pistol. He would have fallen back. Just remember what Knives-sama REALLY said when his loyal zelot gave his life: "Legato Bluesummers defies the laws of physics, ONCE AGAIN!!!!!" He was always too good for those darn laws.... anyhoo.... If the cast is bumped off, reincarnate them in your fan fic! It's easy. For Legato and the Gung-ho guns, just have Elanor scoop them into a jar and (years later, unexplainably) bring them back to life. Or, just say the shot was a blank! (Stupid but, then agian, what fan fics arn't in a way?) Make your own twisted ending. How about.... Knives destroys all of humanity.......? ^^ lol..... Now I've done it. You got that look again. No, not the straight jacket, no, NO!!!! *much later* I'm hanging upside down in a cellar in a straight jacket next to some wierd sado-massicist guy with an eye patch. Some one is going to die horribly....... (For those who want to learn more about the psycho guy with the eye patch watch Weiss Cruise! I'm now the only straight male weiss cruise otaku in the universe!) Now to get me down. *mmf*...*rrggh*...*click!*...*THUD BINGO! Subversive
Does that make 5 officially ruined topics...I believe so. I have too much respect for this series to even try to write a fanfic. Its characters are too complex, the story flowed too much, much too hard...
Change
He could have fallen any which way depending if a skull fragment shot of in a dircetion with suffecent speed to conseve momentum. I think that the ending was appropriate for the series, Vash won, now Knives has to learn, he is to be saved.
Plant_Angel
Hmmmmm, maybe it wasnt Vash, Im sure I saw another guy......you know in the background.....by the grassy noll........ I couldnt even try a Trigun fanfic! I am absolute awe reading the manga that I wouldnt even know where to begin! There are some scenes in the manga I would have liked to have seen in the anime, but I guess its length just wouldnt allow for it. I wonder how THATS all gonna end? One is called 'Partners in the End' (Knives falls in love, Wolfwood has a son, and Legato comes back from the dead) and the other is called 'A Stone Transformed' (Legato love story) PLZ check them out!
