Its been a five day weekend now...dangit I got up all early and crap and get ready for school and BOOM! NO SCHOOL! It's not fair...maybe no school sounds good..but really its not all that great. Its freezing outside! EVIL SNOW!*glares at the evil snow* We have solo/ensembles on Saturday! Now what are we gonna do?! Sere Tuscumbia
*laughs* It had a wind chill of -1 degrees yesterday PK-chan, and the weather people are predicting that the weather is just going to get worse. Yep, Mum's thinking that there's going to be no school for the rest of the week. And frankly, I'm enjoying the break off from school. I've managed to scrounge Starfire up from the depths of my brain, and so I get to work on my baby again. However, the downside of this all is that it's so cold that I'm having trouble typing. And it's not really the snow. We had freezing rain, and so ice is covering everything. And when I say everything, I mean everything. Mum spent about an hour home just trying to defrost the car, and the Kia is a tiny car. However, give me more snow days! I like the freedom! ^_^ I also get to sleep a lot, which is a plus! ^_~ --Sere
GinnyLyn
It's all iced over down here too! I saw pics of the storm hitting Oklahoma, and I thought that was bad. But as I look outside right now, I see the ice here. Pretty thick stuff too. I nearly fell down twice just trying to get the newspaper. >.<;;; I'll have photos up as soon as I can develop them. In the meantime, NO SCHOOL! Whoo! Good, I didn't finish my homework. ^^;
Transtic Nerve
It's a good... 80 degrees here in Florida. I had the AC on all day yesterday. :) I'd much rather be where you all are though.
Mitch
...Pah, it was -25 degrees earlier this week here. Not to mention the low was -35. Bah, I hate North Dakota's continuing immunity to strive at never cancelling school because we are so used to cold weather. -1 degrees is nothing. Take it from...North Dakota, and me as well.
Kinetic
I'm enjoying the sudden change of weather in Texas. It's better than the 70-80 degree weather we usually have here. The ice is kind of fun to run and slide on too, heheh. I like the break from school, but it's kind of boring. This is the first time since I was born that I've seen snow/ice last for over a day in Texas, it's weird. Everytime we have actual snow (instead of sleet), it always melts before it's even dark outside.
Sere Tuscumbia
Well, considering that Oklahoma is normally the Dust Bowl, -1 degrees is pretty much absolute hell to me. Have I mentioned that I'm not a cold weather person? Yeah, any mention of cold weather has me flying south for the winter. How I long for the 110 degree weather again . . . @_@;; --Sere I feel sorry for you Mitchie. I'd die if I had to be stuck in cold weather all of the time. Rhys Mayiessen
Ah you people are going by a different system. We use Celceis instead. Anyways here its cold and we did get a bunch of snow but I don't really mind. We haven't had our schools closed yet either...that's where I am right now.
Mei
Oklahoma is soooo weird...our weather doesn't stick to a certain range...it flies all over the place! Its 110 in the summer and -1 in the winter?!Oo Its soooo freaky! And it sucks.>.>
Sere Tuscumbia
*laughs* Why do you think I'm moving away once I can? I remember one day where it was almost like spring (so nice . . . so warm . . . so lovely! ^_^) and then the next day it was snowing. Yep, Oklahoma weather sucks. And I've got about three layers of clothing on (a camisole, a long sleeved shirt, and then a short sleeved shirt over that), a bathrobe (or two) and a blanket, and I'm STILL cold! *grumbles* I hate Oklahoma. --Sere
Mei
Haha...leave Oklahoma...that'd be good I guess. I ain't ever gonna leave!*hick hick*^^() I love Oklahoma...even if it does suck.Oo Strange eh? I know I'm weird and quite insane. Kei
I know how you feel. The weather her in Ohio is none too warm. We just stopped getting snow on top of the 17' we got last week. But it's supposed to get up to the upper 30s by Friday, so it's good. It's sad when you pray for the upper 30s, though...
Yukazi
For the past month, Indiana has been hit by some serious winter weather. At the very beginning, we had Temperatures on -6 and Wind Chills of -19, so we got the entire week with 2 hr. delays. Then, we got 8 in. of snow, and huge drifts, along with the cold, and still, only 2hr. delay. After another week, we got another 5 in, then 4 more in. the next day. Still, only a 2 hr. delay. Eventually, we got out of school early because of the threat of being snowed in. Finally, Yesterday, we got a 2 hr. delay because fo cold again. As now, I believe the super. does not realize when school should be delayed and closed..
Lady Macaiodh
I, quite frankly, am sick of the snow. It has snowed all winter. This has never happened before as far as I can remember. It's snowing right now, in fact. It sucks because where I live it takes about thirty years for the snow-plows to come through, & when they do, they create a huge barricade of snow at the foot of my driveway.
GinnyLyn
*grumbles* This'd be fine if I had iceskates. Grrrr. It took me 15 frigging minutes to walk (or try to walk) the 100 feet to my car. Never made it. Everything was melting and refreezed, making the ice that much worse. I've missed two days of work now, and it's gonna show in my paycheck. Ouch. >.< On the plus side, most of it seems to finally be going away for good...my dad said the mainroads are a lot better than the neighborhood ones, so, with any kind of luck, I'll be at work tomorrow. Though my younger brothers are delighted that they get to miss another day tomorrow. Something about a natural gas something-or-other.
LostProphet
Mine and Vegitto4's district was closed the past 2 days, because Texans don't know how to drive on ice. They can't even TELL the difference between ice and snow. The news people have been calling it snow, and it's truly annoying. As for being out of school....I didnt like it for 2 reasons: 1) I'm a senior. The longer I'm here, the more miserable I am. 1 of the 2 make up days is 2 days before graduation. AARGH! 2) I'm effectively grounded, which means I can't talk to my girlfriend. I don't drive, which means the only time I see her is at school. Dammit all....I finally saw her this morning for the first time in 2 DAYS! It was pure torture, but it's all over now...
GinnyLyn
Yes, it's finally melting away. One more day and I would have snapped from cabin fever. Puck: No fear there. You snapped a long time ago. Hush you.
Mei
Ahhh the snow is finally melting here too...so nice.^^ I've been wondering...your location...says your grappling for #15 on the ton TEN poster spots...why is there a 15th spot if its...supposed to be the top ten?Oo
Syk3
It's not that cold; nothing below 15 degree F, but it is still pretty cold for Southern Maryland. And I suppose it's cold enough to snow (duh) and snow indeed - we've had a total of about 3 weeks of no school or something. This is the second day in a row of another school-free day, and it's snowing pretty hard again, so I don't expect we'll have school tommarrow either. I was supposed to play my solo this weekend, but since my evil dentist put this crap in my mouth to move my jaw foward, I can't play my flute anymore and I can barely talk.....*shakes fist angerly at dentist* But I'm going to Brazil tommorow anyway, so I guess I can use my retainer as an excuse to not go to competitions and go to Brazil without owing 7 dollars...(heh-heh?) It also freezing here, but we don't have any snow. Just damn cold. Do you happen to live in Dallas? I bet you do! Or not. I dunno, but it would be wierd that we have Solo and Ensemble competitions the same day and we don't live in the same states. I've gone the past 2 years in a row and I've gotten 1's both times. And now I can't go! And I've worked SO hard on my song! Oh well....maybe next year. What instrument do you play anyway? Or are you going for Choir? I already went for choir last November and I got a 2. But this is my first year in Choir and I didn't know my song!! ><; Dang, I didn't know there were anyone from Texas here! I live in Houston. We NEVER get anything, just rain and tornadoes.
