If you'd actually read this topic at all, you'd have known that all posts involved were to be kept relevant. In my opinion, your recent bad behavior has been inexcuseable. You yourself have been spamming on several parts of the site and you seem to have absolutely no regard for our rules. Thus, you're now banned. When I ask for a thread to be kept on topic, I'm not just saying it for fun. I'm absolutely committed to keeping that particular discussion from degenerating into some silly back and forth situation. Lady Macaiodh
I just wanted to let you guys know that I printed out this thread & showed it to my parents' pastor. He was wanting to start an active youth group in the church & needed insight. I normally wouldn't do something like that, but I do trust this man & know he has very good intentions. So perhaps our comments will serve to help other teens who are in need of a supportive community environment.:) The people I have discussed this with were very surprised with the opinions here. I think it might have really made a difference in this situation.
zemekis_
Gee, I never thought being catholic was that bad until i starting getting into the net. and now it's nothing but pedophilia, money, pedophilia, fake, money.... When somebody talks about church, they generally talk about having to get dressed up on thier day off, find some money on a sunday morning (our heavenly father hates cheapskates) - and getting up early. That's what generally comes to mind. And those, actually are my three reasons not to go. I'm sure somebody is going to say "well, don't you want to go worship god?" Well, myself, the answer to my question is that we all can worship god whenever we'd like. What I can't understand is why we can say god is totally error-proof, never wrong, etc, but we cannot say why god wouldn't understand why I wanted to sleep in. God, in all his infinite wisdom, just cannot fathom why a nineteen year old guy wouldn't want to get out of bed. There's something fundamentally wrong with that. That, and I think the whole "test of faith" thing isn't too solid of an argument. All I have to do is show up, and I'm counted among the faithful? Well, what if the Lutherans are right? And I'm at saint paul's instead? I'm in the wrong place! I'd never get counted! A good church, in my opinion, is one that's always open, and isn't a place to organize anything. It's a place I'd go to at 3 AM or 5PM or whenever, to get away from the "real world" and talk to the big guy. but that's just me.

\/AnimeFreak\/
1.) When someone metnions Church to me, I think of about how many other things I can do with my time. 2.) My first reason I don't go to church cause I have something called a 'life' and would like to live it. My second reason is that it is boring to listen to a guy talk about something for an hour. 3.) Some of the qualities I feel a church needs to be good is a good youth group, clean bathrooms, a priest with a sense of humor, and church events that are actually 'fun' and don't seem attractive to people who aren't completely obsessed with the Church. AnimeAddict
1.) That guy nailed to a cross. The clouds parting and a light shining down w/ a choir singing in a very corny Hollywood-ish way. 2.) I'm atheist. Need I say more? 3.) Well....considering I've never actually stepped foot in one to perform a religious act, I can't help you. ::walks away before she can force her views on others::

Manic Webb
1. God, Worship, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! 2. a) My church doesn't do anything. It's all "sing, sing, weekly bulletin, sing, read, sing, donate money, sing, sing, read, listen, sing, read, sing" all over the course of the longest 2-3 hours you can possibly imagine. b) 75% of my time at church consists of listening to the choir sing, and only about 3 members of the choir can actually do that. c) The church itself is about an hour or two away from home. I used to go there because my uncle and aunt are members. d) There's just something I don't like about organized religion, or at least the part about meeting in masses. Why exactly do I have to go to church? 3) In risk of being vague, service should consist of something more than just a few random songs and somebody preaching their opinion and calling it the word of God. When I was between 8 and 10 years old, I used to go to Bible Study at another church during the summer with other kids, and I learned about God while actually having fun. I've yet to have that much fun at church since.
Ryo the Tamer
1.) It was very strange, because almost everytime I went they were talking about something I've been having trouble with. 2.) My parents have to work on Sundays, and I have no other mode of transportation. 3.) Not just read from the Bible, but er... well do more then just that. I don't like a church like the one in Simpsons.
