Hmm. But who ever said Lucrecia gave up her child to Hojo? Hojo is a sick and twisted man.
>.>
But yeah. I'm not sure myself on this whole business. Back to logos again..
FFVI cover... isn't that Terra on the Magitek?

Yup, we see Terra in the exact similar position in the opening movie of FF6. Terra is the most significant character in the game (others could have been just "anybody"), but Magitek was left quite stranded especially at the latter half of the game, when
the world was ruined and Emperor Gestahl had been killed
.

As for the most impressive logo, I'd have to say FF10. You all see Yuna in it, but why do I see also Tidus on the flame-part of the logo? Or at least his head...

I NEVER got FF9's logo before this, but now I feel enlightened -thanks to Gin! :D

All the logo's are above average in the game-industry, so none of them really bothers me.

Here's something to chew on: the irony of the English version's big baddie being called Sin as opposed to the Japanese's being called Shin.

A little info before I let you discuss:
Sin-means doing bad stuff against your deity.
Shin-in Japanese, means "god"

I always thought it meant "death" or "to die" (i don't remember if it's the verb or the noun...) Is it double meaning? *has now been provoked into thinking* My dictionary claims it to be "core" or "wick"... so, yeah... I get that O_o!

And yeah... When I look at FFX's logo, I always see Yuna
as a Fayth fighting Sin...
I'm not sure if the game turns out that way, but that's what it says to me. I figure that would be profound in some ways.

Also the comment on Tidus's head... That would also be profound considering
Sin (or 'Shin' heh - I'm not going to call him Sin now ^_^) is Tidus's dad. I don't know if Tidus ever becomes Sin, but that's the vibes I'm getting thus-far. *chuckles* Yuna vs. Tidus - there's a fight I'd pay to see!
Anyway *prays spoiler tags work* there's my two cents on the "logo" debate - at least concerning FFX.

I wonder how I picked up that "Shin" meant "god", then. O_o;

Well, considering that Spira is called such because it is lost in a spiral of death, the source of the death should be called as such, as well. In this case, Shin, though why they switched it to Sin...besides the fact that a sin seperates one from God, and that seperation means death if you don't repent.

Yup, just covered the whole game story line there. People continue to go on pilgrimages to show repentance, to stop the cycle of death. Though I've warned that spoilers are in this thread, people that have played FFX
already know the irony of the pilgrimage.
Me wanna change topic!!! Me's gonna!!! :D Remember that this thread is not for those afraid of spoilers, so I'm not going to use tags, okay?

Ookay, I want to know what do you think about the FEMALE villains of the games? Well, FF6 didn't have any actual female villain characters (though you fight some female monsters, like Goddess and Chadarnook), but in FF7 we have the delightfully dedicated turk Elena, and the female general who destroyed Corel Village, was it Scarlet? Anyways, she was defeated with Heidegger the Warlord before the battle against Hojo.
In FF8 we have the oh-so-gorgeous-yet-nasty Edea, and Adel, and Ultimecia... A line of witches, though Edea was the only "character"-one. We also shouldn't forget the little-talking minion of Seifer, Fuujin, who is almost glued to Raijin.
In FF9 we find my favorite female villain, Beatrix. Like Edea, she switched sides during the game as well. Then we have the Jabba-queen Brahne, and Amarant's team-mate Lani.
FF10 is a mystery for me on this behalf, but aren't some of the other summoners quite nasty?

Well, I was just listing the facts here, but I really want to know what kind of female villain is the most working? A cold bi... er, witch like Edea, a mislead general like Beatrix, or maybe just a bad-*** like Fuujin and Lani? Tell me!

Heh heh heh...I'm still covering up the one spoiler for FFX, as far as female villians go:
Yunalesca.
Enough said.

Oh sure, you have the occasional witchy summoners, but they weren't villians, perse. I think it's very interesting (though not a new concept) to give a female a very strong villian role.

Is that why you're always hitting me? :smirk:

What about Jenova in FFVII? Jenova is kind of female, in that it's given birth to tons of nasty Jenova-injected peoples/beasties. That, and Sephiroth calls Jenova his mother.

Lol Skones. I never thought of Jenova in that way...

You've opened my mind. You seriously have. If you want a game with a female as the villian, play Parasite Eve. Heh. That's a good game..

Anyways, who cares about the heroics? I myself love the losers in the FFs.

Umm... okay.

Well, I'd still like to see a female correspondant to Sephiroth. I don't mean she should ACT or LOOK like him, but she should be something as... cool. :toothy: Well, you know how Sephy is: nearly every FF-fan adore him. Yes, Edea was great, but she didn't last as a villain for very long. And she was just possessed. So it doesn't count. (Besides, she was a NANNY in reality  ).

But I hope we'll see a proper female ARCHvillain in the FF-series in the future.

This reminded me that I forgot to mention LeBlanc from FFx-2 (been reading some walkthroughs and reviews ;) ). But it turned out to be that
she isn't much of a opponent after all. After she gets whacked by the girlies in the game like five times, she stops being "the" villain.
