Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Well I just recently this week picked up a copy of the newest Yugioh game for the PS2. I have to say I'm quite impressed with this game, it combines the elements of strategy, duel monsters, and chess. Also the difficulty for this game is extremely high. Graphic wise it's pretty much average, to any game of this type so don't expect too much from it. So has anyone played it? What do you think of the new battle system and card slots? SephirothNIN
Is the battle system very similar to the show's or actual card game's? I just borrowed the PSX yuggy game, uh....forbidden memories I think is the name, and it has a lot of weird differences, like you HAVE to play a card every turn, and everything can be fused almost, it's not bad, but I would've preferred if it were a bit closer to the original. I have a few free renals since the store messed up a bajillion times, so I'll probably rent duelist of roses anyway, but it'd be nice to know how yuggy the game really is. Kinetic
I got the game and I am very impressed with it. But, as you said, it's extremely difficult. They start you out with nothing, and your opponents have everything. Anzu(or Tea, whichever you prefer), is even hard to beat. I expected there to be an option for passwords like in other games, but I was seriously wrong. The strongest monster I have is 1200 I think, maybe higher, and the highest tribute is 2250, but I still don't understand why it only lets me summon it at certain times... But yes, the game is very nice and I enjoy the battle scenes a lot. E D I T: Ok, I figured out the summoning thing and how to do a fusion in the game but that still doesn't erase the fact that it's impossible to beat!!! Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Actually I didn't find it impossible to beat, I've beaten both White and Red Rose sides. My Strongest Regular Monster right now would have to be Zoa and Barrel Dragon each at an attack strength of 2600, my strongest Fusion monster is Meteor Black Dragon, I just got Meteor Dragon and Red Eyes today. One thing though that's bugging me is the fact I have yet to get a Blue Eyes White Dragon, or a Summon Skull. And I really don't remember what fuses what to make Summon Skull. Overall its a great game, and if you want better cards your going to have to keep dueling and dueling until you get to the Last Boss he gives out Strong Cards in the slots that's how I got my Red Eyes Black Dragon and Meteor Dragon. Has anyone gotten 3 DM's in slots, that gives you Dark Magician Girl, which I too really want badly.
Kinetic
I finally beat the first two levels, and the 2nd was much easier than the first. It's sad, though, because you're listing all of these great cards, and I get excited about seeing a La Jinn in the slots, lol. I guess I just need to keep advancing, but it's not easy. Do you know if Mai gives out any really good cards?
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Yes there is one good card that she uses that is one of the most powerful magic cards in the game it's called Mirror Wall. It can make a Eyes Attack Level Drop to 1500 in one turn. Mai uses this ocassionally so keep your eyes out for it in slots. Another powerful card that is rather hard to get from her but comes in handy later in the game would be harpie ladies, and the harpies Pet Dragon. As for powerful cards, don't worry as you progress into the later stages of the game your going to see the last Master use tons of Rare Cards and you'll be able to get some of them. Today I got MetalMorph which now means I can make Red Eyes Metal Dragon, and also Metal Zoa. Both equally powerful cards, but they pale in comparison to the Meteor Black Dragon. Which is the third most powerful card in the game.
Crimson
Did any cards come in the game when you got it?
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Yeah three limited edition cards come in the game holographic Alpha, Beta, and Gamma Warriors. Though it would of been nice if they added in the last card to form Valkiryon.
Circ
That one is in Stairway to the destined.
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Well today I got the Dark Magician Girl, Summon Skull, and another Red Eyes. Meaning I now can form all fusions of the Red Eyes Dragon. As for the quest to gain a blue eyes no luck yet they saying matching up 3 Koumori Dragons can get you a blue eyes but all I recieved was a stupid -_- Gemini Elf. So Kinetic which side did you start on (White) Yorkist or (Red) Lanchaster?
Domon
Okay, its offical, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of The Roses is worse than Forbidden Memories, but the point of this thread is. Where can I find the codes to input for all the monsters?? And don't say "duh! they're on the cards!" Cause i read the instruction booklet and it said those passwords don't work. So any assistance will work.
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Only a limited ammount of codes are in the game, about 20 or so. Just look for them over at gamefaqs they have a pw list of all known pws in the game so far. Though I really don't recommend cheating to get cards, it's much more fun to actually earn Rare cards and work you way up the ranks.
Kinetic
I started on White, naturally, it's no fun being the good guy. Plus, it helps that Seto Kaiba is the best character in the series. I've gotten up to Yugi's grandfather, a long time ago, and haven't played in a while because it's impossible to beat him!! I even had Meteor Black Dragon on the field, nearly my first turn, and I still couldn't beat him. I didn't do any damage at all, thanks to his barrage of direct damage cards and the labyrinth blocking me. How did you defeat him?
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Well the best way to take out Grandpa's cards is to use these slot rare cards. First off Labyrinth tank which has an attack power of 2400 it has the ability to go through the labyrinth walls. Second, Cannon Soldier with an attack of 1400 can also go through the labyrinth. Lastly if you have Shadow Ghoul, you can merge him into the wall to become Wall Shadow. That's your best beat of beating Granpda really quickly, however keep in mind grandpa still uses a lot of trap cards so be on your guard when getting closer to his deck leader. Kinetic
Thanks. I haven't gone up against those cards yet though. Do you know who has them?
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
For Labyrinth tank you need to get it via slot rares so it's pretty much random, for shadow ghoul though you can get him by beating the Paradox on the Red Rose side but sadly your not going to be able to get that thing just yet. So your best bet at this point is to get dark hole and use it to flush grandpa out.
Jinzouningen17
Note: Sorry for bringin back an old thread, but I didnt feel like makin another one since this one was still on the first page. ^_^ Anyway, I was finally able to rent this game(since its over 21 days old and now I can rent it for free. ^_^)and I must say....this game is friggen hard...yet addictive. At first I was like "okay, this game is gonna suck. Too many friggen rules and what not.", but then, once you get started playin it, and find yourself thinkin alot to make the next move, you pretty much get hooked on this game(atleast thats the way it is for me). This is the first time I've played a Yu-Gi-Oh! game(of any type)and I must say that this is pretty hot. I love the way they combined the elements of Duel Monsters and chess(like Rick said). But damn, could they have atleast made an options screen where you can lower the difficulty. I havent even come close to beatin Rex nore Weevil yet(I'm usin the Red Rose side). I try to switch to see which one is easier, and neither one of em are. Either they're too hard, or I just have a weak deck(I'm usin the Patrician of Darkness deck...eh, luck the draw. Since I did name my character "Majin Vegeta", I decided to use a dark deck. Hey, he did say pick somethin that would match your soul. lol). But man, if someone has some tips for the games, PLEASE POST EM or somethin. I'm strugglin here. lol. Well, I dont have to take the game back until next Friday, and I'm only workin a few hours today and tomorrow so I should have enough time to play this(and watch "Jackass The Movie" aswell), so maybe I'll figure it out. *shrugs* Again, this is a nice game. Getcha thinkin, ya know. If you havent played it, I highly suggest goin and rentin this game.
Ben
Has anyone gotten any good passwords yet?
Domon
Go to gamefaqs.com they have some passwords, the only really good monster is Aqua Dragon, and Seriryu.
Jinzouningen17
Well, I got a few codes for some cards at http://www.game-revolution.com....unfortunatly, the cards I was able to crack the code to, I didnt even get a chance to use. But I FINALLY won my first match yesterday defeating friggen Rex. *jumps for joy* Took me almost 3 days to do it, but I did it. Now to beat that friggen cockroach Weevil, and that dark kat...I dont even remember his name. I dont even think his behind was on the show. The guy looks like a blend between some rock star and Jay Leno wit that friggen chin. *shrugs* Well, I'mma be playin it tomorrow, so hopefully I can figure out some more ways to beat this thing and atleast beat 1 more guy. We'll see what happens. But that game is friggen addictive, no doubt. If you havent played it yet, I HIGHLY suggest that you rent this game. Even if you've never played any type of Duel monsters or what not(which I havent until I played this. Never played Duel Monster or any type of card game such as magic or what not. And I havent played any of the Yu-Gi-Oh! games on Playstation period....well, I had 2 games on Gameboy Advanced, but they were in Japanese and I didnt understand a friggen thing, plus it was somewhat dumb lookin anyway), GO GET THIS GAME! Its definetly worth it. I know I'll be rentin it constantly(since I do get it for free anyway. I love my joooob. [/Gir from Invader Zim] ^_^) Oh well, back to listenin to a little bit of this "Music To Duel By"(Yu-Gi-Oh! english soundtrack. And NO I dont have the whole thing. Didnt want it. Just wanted the background music. ^_^)
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Congrats Jinzouningen 17, however I frown apon the people using card cheats and asking for them...that lowers the difficulty of the game not to meantion the challenge. Anyone can put in a password to get a card but it's much more fun to earn a rare card through slot rares. The whole point of the game is to level up your deck leader so that it is easier to get slot rares. So for those using cheats your really ruining the whole idea behind this game.
