Jesus Chicken
I have thought about this many a time, but for some reason have never got around to posting it. Silverchair have gone stupid! They used to be "silverchair" (no capitol) and they used to rock. Now, sadly, they have produced tracks such as Luv you life, and Across the Night. A big change, a big bad change, from their past, with hits such as, Tomorrow, Anna's Song, Cemetary and the Door. I think it's because he's been put on anti-depressants, but drugs alone can't be traced to such a big change in their stlye. I was just wondering if anyone else has realised this, and does anyone else think Diorama is the worst album ever?
Lady Macaiodh
I was never too crazy about them. "Tomorrow" was okay because of the variations in the music. But all the others were kinda like... they sounded okay, but you got sick of them really easily. They're just too alike. Silverchair simply doesn't have much substance.
The Harlequin
I can only listen to Ana's Song and Miss You Love these days. I hate everything else now.
Ravenstorture
Diorama makes me sick. As does three week old dog food, but luckily, I don't have that right now. But I am listening to greatest view, and dear god, after the brillint into, it falls flat on it's dog foody face. What has happened? Does this prove that depression creates great music? We know it creates brilliant artwork, and wonderful philosophies, but with music... there has been little proof until now. Except for that guy, you know... um, I think cobain was his name... never really got off the ground. But he was depressed, was he not? huh? And Micheal Jackson looked pretty happy when we saw him last and look what happened to him... Janis joplin was not the happiest person ever either. Neither was the lead singer of Queen. Or elvis! Well, not much proof at all. Congrats, silverchair! You're the first happy bcnd to go off the rails!!! If you know which point I'm trying to make at the moment, please PM me and inform me. I've no blood in my head and am having trouble stringing three words together. Oh well....
Lady Macaiodh
Actually, if you think about it, it's a pretty good point. Think about how many bands went straight downhill after they got off drugs & went into therapy & stuff. Some of the greatest albums ever made were written on drugs. Like Aerosmith.. they're the first one that pops in my mind. They had so many kick *** songs. Then they get sober & come out with "Don't want to miss a thing" & "pink" which are wussy & crappy. Coincidence? Not that I'm telling anyone to do drugs or anything... ::hides::
Queen Asuka
I haven't heard Silverchair's new stuff, but it reminds me of another band: Collective Soul. They changed their look completely and they look like 30 year old Backstreet Boys. It's disgusting.
Fall
I'm not too fond of them, though I happen to have a few of their old CDs. Now their producing songs that are crap. The one that's all over the radio, and only has the piano in it? What? Crap.
