tabmow
I went to Mc ******** today to look for Jungle Book toys. The elderly gentleman in line in front of me ordered the 2 apple pies for $1 dollar special. The clerk went back an returned with the only apple pie left in the store. He then informed the man that the price would be as if he had only ordered one apple pie an he would be charged the regular 79 cent price instead of 50 cents. What would you do if 1) you were the clerk realizing that there was only one pie left 2) the customer after hearing that you would be charged the regular price and not the advertised special price epilogue to story the man left replying that the establishment was not standing up to its advertisement and the only apple pie the store had went back into the bin. I did increase my collection of junglebook toys because they had a different toy available. I have since found all the toys- in case any of you are interested. Juu
1) If I was the clerk, then I would've given him perhaps a small order of fries instead, or explain to him that we only have one left. 2) If I was the customer, I would understand, because it's only 29 cents. Besides, that is the original price. o_o;

wrist cutter
Well no, 2 for $1 does not necessarily mean 1 for 50 cents. 2 for $1 is just a deal, there's no 3 for $1.50 or anything, just 2 for $1. HOWEVER, because it is an issue with stock, I wouldn't charge the man full price for one just because we're out. I'd give it to him for 50 cents and then see about getting him some kind of coupon. treton_noir
id just give him the friggin pie and forget about it. how the crap much can a friggin apple turnover be worth? jeez. a little charity never hurt anybody. if there has to be compensation for the pie, im sure it isnt going to kill me to pay two quarters out of my own pocket. DeathKnight
1. I'd ask my manager about it. It wasnt the man's fault that the location ran out of the pies, and he shouldnt be put to the penalty for it, even its just a matter 'of a few cents'. If the manager says to charge full price, then I charge full price, for he is the current boss at the establishment. 2. Nothing. Its there place, they charge whatever prices they want to, even if it is a bit unfair to myself. It would be useless argueing, and a bit silly, but I might just casually bring it up in a sarcastic remark to sink the thought of how stupid it was into them. Besides that, its a few cents. I've been wanting to get rid of that loose pocket change anyway.
Guest cloricus
I would type what I think but wrist cutter has done it for me. :P If I were the customer I would ask for it at the 50c price, though this is from the point of view of knowing my consumer rights in Australia. Seeing as it is a stock matter (Their problem) you should still get the advertised price. Though once all stock is gone the offer is void knowing my conditions of Mac?s offers. And as for what you guys are saying, yeah it?s only an apple pie. I?m sure no one cares, just put it down as a "it fell on the floor" job.
JCBaggee
1) Do what I have to. If I'm working at McDonalds, I must be desperate for a job. 2) It's just another 29 cents...I went in there ready to pay a buck for two pies, so surely I have enough if I really want it. And if not, I can't be that desperate for apple pies. --Chris
Lady Macaiodh
That's the problem with deals. People buy more of the product, so the company runs out of it. The deal was 2 for $1 and he only bought 1, so he's pretty much **** outta luck. Though, if it was me at the register (God forbid), I would have just given him the stupid thing. Heaven's Cloud
The deal was 2 for $1 not 1 for 50 cents. The guy is out of luck, if he doesn't want the last pie someone else will by it.
Guest TLOL_Vash
1. given him the pie for 50 cents and if the manager had a problem (unless I was the manager, oo swindly, j/k) cover the 29 cents 2. Just as for a small strawberry milkshake....the pie is always too hot at CrapDonalds

Bing
Well, it's hard to decide really. If the old man wasn't going to get the apple pie before he saw the offer, then it should be offered to him for 50 cents, becuase he has been attracted to an advert, which technically wasn't true, due to stock problems or whatever. However, if he always buys an apple pie he should pay the full 79p. He should have voiced his opinion, then he might have got an answer. Too many people nowadays keep shut, and they end up getting cheated in life.

no carbohydrates seems pretty stupid considering they only turn to fat if you don't actually do anything.. it makes more sense to have a no fat diet but yeah.. anyway.. I think most special offers (over here at least) have a small print which says "only while stocks last". And obviously, they didn't last in this case.. still, I'm one of those guys who just can't deal with an unhappy customer so I'd probably try to find a way around, or call someone who could deal with an unhappy customer.. (not that I've ever worked in a fast food place, but you get unhappy customers everywhere..)
