Mage of Kraa
Langal sat in a bed in a filthy human barracks. He was extremely angry about this. He had sat in this building injured with not a single Elf to talk to for 3 weeks now. He couldnt even talk to the humans(not that he wanted to talk to the pigs), or they would kill him as soon as they recognised his Elven voice. He also had to keep the heavy iron helmet on so they wouldn't see his ears. But that would change tonight. Tonight he would escape. He would get out of this dank building and see trees again. Trees! How he had missed the smell of the forest, stuck instead in this stone building. But if all went well tonight, he would see them by morning. All he had to do was wait until the humans were all asleep...
Xra
"They say he was taken by a demon at one time, now he lives his life in eternal darkness..." The legends were spinning through Neo's head. He couldn't take the fact someting possesed him. Him! A tall and strong elf, now taken over by a lesser?!? He stood up and stared at the human base from the cliff above. Neo: And these people, do they and the elves so ironic enough to sit down and sense the danger ahead? I may not survive the the evil that is comming, but at least I'll last longer in battle..... Rhys Mayiessen
Shayleigh walked along in the forest, happy just to smell the greens and to feel the barks rough texture. She sighed. She hadn't been able to be alone in the forest for the longest time. With the war against the humans she hardly had time for anything at all. Shayleigh now regreted becoming a commmander, even though it gave her more respect from her fellow elves, she didn't think that she wanted to fight against the humans. She looked back to see if anyone was following her then turned around and started to head to the spring she had found in her childhood. Whenever she needed a break from everyday life Shayleigh would go there. She sat by the spring and put one finger in the water stirring it softly. She knew that if she told any of the elves about her feelings she would be immediately cast out. It would go against the grain of the elves to feel pity upon the humans but Shayleigh couldn't help it. It was against her grain to not feel pity.
Mage of Kraa
Night time. Every one of the pigs was asleep. Now Langal would slip off and see the forest again. He got out of the bed quietly and crept across the floor like only Elves can. He reached the door and heard a sound. Quickly he turned around ready for a fight, but it was only one of them snorting in their sleep. A thought went through his head. Perhaps he should kill them all in their sleep. No. Too risky, one of them might wake up. He would just slip off like he had planned to. Better to stay alive then die to become a hero. Langal continued out into the hallway. Which way was the exit? When he came in here he was half unconcious, and he hadn't left that room since he arrived. He resolved to guess which direction and hope he didnt run into anyone. He headed off to the right. After a few turns, He found his way out. He slipped off into the darkness...
Xra
Neo still stood there, motionless. Suddenly he saw somehting slip out the base. Neo, jumped down the cliff to see if it was a human spy. Neo: Who are you? ???: Ahh, someone found me. The person ran faster, but Neo was on his tail. He then noticed his pointy ears. Neo: Another elf, stop! ???: Keep away from me human or I will be forced to kill you. Neo: Seems like you're just running, look I'm an elf too. ???: Your too tall!! Neo: Remember the legends... ???: The legends? The elf stopped running. ???: You are the possesed Neo?!? Neo: Yes*turns his head* who are you?... spike speigel
Percius emerged into the tavern. People all around him drank and laughed and sang. Of course, they were all drunk. Percius calmly walked to the bar, dodging half concius people on the floor. He moved slowly towards the counter where a tall thin man stood. "What 'ya want?" "Some ale. Make it heavy." Percius replied. The young man obeyed, pouring a thick ale into a mug. He dropped a few coins onto the counter and swigged the drink. It tasted excelent compared to the stuff he had been drinking. He finished the mug and left the tavern. 'i think I'll tke a walk.' he thought to himself.
DeathKnight
Ken: I hate treebranches.. The massive figure of the man towered upwards, almost as tall as some of the younger trees, his arm brushing various branches out of his path. He was headed in a random direction, honestly- The sudden urge for a nighttime walk wakeing him from his deep sleep. As he ducked underneath a thick branch, he came to an odd clearing, and he stopped to stare upwards at a crisp, pale white, full moon. The stars were sparkleing around the massive, bright moon, setting the perfect romantic mood.. Ken: If only I had a significant other. He grinned jokingly to himself, before something caught his attention- a sound. It was still a bit distant, but he could tell that it was the sound of bubbleing water.. Some sort of spring. He had been walking for nearly an hour, and had planned to turn back- But was admittedly a bit parched. Ken: A quick drink and I better head back to that Village.. He listened for a few seconds, before judgeing that the sound was coming from the north- deeper twards enemy territory. Shrugging it off in his mind, he began to lumber his way through the woods again, the tree branches smacking him once and awhile, a low murmering of a curse usually following. Finally, after 10 minutes of walking, he came out at a spring, and he stopped silently in his tracks. An elf was stirring the water slowly with her finger, lost in her thoughts- at least he judged that from the look on her face. He walked foreward to the stream, and leaned down to get a drink, startling the Elf. He cupped his hand, bringing water up to his mouth silently, doing this a few times. He stood up, towering to his full height and glanced at the Elf, before emotionlessly heading back into the forest, the massive axe that rested on his back glimmering in the moonlight as he walked away.
The Harlequin
The clearing was quite, tranquil. Stars shone overhead, though there was little moonlight. A deer, obviously not a mature male, stood, and drank quietly from a spring, a nocturnal comfort. Trees swayed around it in the wind. That same wind carried a scent. It's head came up, looking around in confusion, and a slight alarm. Rali leapt out of the tree, landing on the deer's back, hands shooting out, and breaking its neck. He sprang away as it fell, tumbling, but ending up on his feet. He looked around calmly, and dusted himself off. He stepped forward, and pulled his out his long, wickedly curved bone knife. He had made it himself, and over the years of accumulated nicks and breaks in the blade, it had turned into a truly vicious weapons. He had others, but this was his favourite. This was his first, and the one he chose to use when sentient life bothered him. Their screams never did though. And the knife was really, really something to make a person scream when it was driven in... He efficiently gutted the deer, taking what meat he could easily carry. As always, it was uncertain when his next meal would be. He left the clearing quickly. In another small dell, several hundred metres away, he set up a small campfire, dug deep into the ground to obscure the light. The meat was hurriedly cooked, and eaten just as fast. By daybreak, Rali planned to be elsewhere.
Xra
Langal: I be Langal. Neo: The youth that stumbled behind enemy lines? Langal: How would you know? Neo: I watched your battle that day. All of you that fight are pitiful. Langal: Why do you say?!? Neo: Because you don't take the time to realize there's something else comming. Langal: Wha? Neo: Close your eyes and keep your mind empty. You'll see. Langal did this a felt a power so evil and strong comming...
Mage of Kraa
"No, this is a trick," Langal said. "You're a mage, a filthy human mage!" He screamed. "Quiet or they will hear you." Neo said calmly."And if you dont beleive me now, you will soon." "Neo was a fairy tale, a story to put restless children to sleep." Langal said quietly to himself. He thought he might have caught insanity from being around the humans too long(elves dont go insane)."You're a LIE!!" he screamed at Neo. "Even in the most far-fetched of tales one can find some truth" Neo answered. "But we must go quickly now, one of the humans is already searching to see where the noise you made came from." With that, Neo disappeared into the darkness of the forest. Langal followed, though he didn't know why.
Xra
Neo and Langal traveled deeper into the forest. Langal: Where are you going? Neo: The sacred clearing. Langal: Humans are not allowed!! Neo: SHH!! I know that, but I'm an elf. Langal: Quit your lies, human. Neo: Do you wanna get caught by the humans, keep quiet. Langal: Well I'm gonna follow you to see what you're up to, human. Neo: For the last time I'm an elf from the legends. They continued to quarrel untill they reached the clearing....
spike speigel
Percius walked until morning. The sunlight shone over the dew soaked leaves in the forest. "I needed that." he said to himself. I guess I'll return to the base camp now." Percius began the long walk back. The grass rustled as he walked slowly through it. As he continued on, he could hear the voices of two people. As they got closer, he could tell they were Elves. "You dirty human! Leave this place at once!" one shouted. "I'm no human." the other replied. "Well, your not Neo. That story is a lie!" the first one insisted. "Right...." the other trailed off. Percius ducked behind some bushes and readied his spear.
The Harlequin
Rali awoke the next morning, at the sound of voices, swore softly, in a voice just above a whisper, and threw an at hand pile of dirt onto the fire. It went out, without an smoke, as intended. He drew his knife, and another, almost stilleto looking one, from another position about his person. Multiple more were concealed. He leapt into a some of the nearby trees, nearly running into a man attempted to hide. He waved his spear at Rali, but didn't really acheive much. Rali: Quit it. I don't want to hurt you yet. Two figures cut off the man's chance for reply. They appeared to be elves, one of them slightly too tall. They appeared to be arguing. The man Rali had encountered growled, and shoved Rali away. Rali sheathed his large knife, and drew a third. He hurled it across the clearing with deadly accuracy. It flew between the two elves, attracting their attention. The man looked at the knife, then back. Rali had gone, leaving behind a ghostly chuckle. The two elves, seeing no one else, assumed the man with the spear was the knife thrower. They reacted accordingly. They were after all, elves, and he was, after all, a human.
Mage of Kraa
Langal quickly took his bow, drew and arrow, and fired at the man with the spear. Neo reached out and snatched the arrow right out of the air, like a toad catching a fly. Both Langal and the human blinked in astonishment. "Never has anyone stopped an arrow from Allamath. You are special, I will give you that." Langal said. The man with the spear saw his opportunity and lunged from afar with his spear. "I told you I am the one from the Legend" Neo said This caused the human to stop in mid-lunge "Then i assume you must be Neo?" the human said. "That is correct, I am Neo, and this is Langal. I have come to warn all of the comming danger. What would your name be human?"
spike speigel
"My name is Percius." Percius replied. "Why are you so willing to speak to me,filthy elf,"We could ask you the same question, dirty pig." Langal shot back. Percius gripped his spear. Langal reached for another arrow. "STOP!" Neo shouted. Percius let his spear fall casually to his side. Langal let go of the arrow. "This coming danger is worse then this war. For bothe race's sake, we must fight it together." Neo warned. "I shal tell my people, then." Percius said. "So, you humans will believe Neo's lies?" Langal taunted. "No one would joke about something like that." Percius replied. "Do not tell the other humans taht an elf awrned you. They might not be as excepting." Neo said. "Yes, I know." Percius agreed. They bid eachother farewll and Percius set off, back towards his village.
Rhys Mayiessen
Shayleigh finally got out of the state of shock she suffered when the human left, she was able to stand. The human hadn't done anything to harm her in anyway and Shayleigh was very curious about that. Usually if a human got a chance, they would kill elves, that's what she's heard anyways. Shayleigh finally decided to follow the huge human. What could be the harm? If he really wanted to kill her he would have right then and there when she was helpless then he would have. She walked a ways behind him making sure to make the slightest sound incase the human decided that he did want to kill her. Shayleigh always wanted to know what humans did, she was always interested in the human mind. It fasinated her.
Mage of Kraa
Langal and Neo traveled through the woods until high noon. "I need to spend some time in the trees." Langal said, and with that, he took off up the nearest trunk. After an hour or so Langal came down, looking much calmer then when they had first met. The time in the trees helped him come to his senses. "If you truly are the one from the Legends, tell me, what is this danger that is coming?" Langal asked "The Ner'Qual, a hideous race born below the soil. They hate the sun, and all things that live under it. They are coming to 'clean', as they put it, the earth. They plan to destroy the sun as well, which means they have powerful magics." Neo said, as if lost in some memory. "Have you seen one?" "Unfortunatly, yes. They have skin black as ashes. They stand slightly taller then a human on two feet, but run swift as a deer on all fours. There are six long claws, sharp as the finest blade, on each of their front paws. There are also two twisted horns jutting out of their foreheads. "I saw one" Langal said quickly. "When?" "When i was up in the trees. I thought my imagination was playing tricks on me and that it was a bear." "Yes, i sense it," Neo said after a few seconds. "Prepare to fight it!" With that they both drew their weapons. DeathKnight
He whistled to himself, his long stride crushing various small shrubs as he walked. Pushing some large branches out of his path, he stopped for a second to wipe a few beads of sweat that were encrouching on his eye, exhaleing a long sigh. Ken: What a night. Walking over to a fallen tree, he sat down slowly and glanced silently up at the sky. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, wrapped object- His fingers carefully unwrapping it, a small, sweet smelling piece of bread laying within. He chomped on it nonchalantly, unaware of the Elf that was watching him curiously from the woods nearby. Ken: I wonder if I gave her a scare. Prolly left her spellbound as to why I didnt attack.. Well, all I wanted was a drink of water, not a fight- Basic logic I suppose. He chatted to nothing in particular in between bites, crumbs falling onto the floor below. The crumbs attracted the attention of a small field mouse who caustiously approached Ken, it's little paws grabbing at the crumbs on the ground and nibbleing at them one by one. Feeling a bit sorry for the mouse, he broke off a piece of the bread and placed it infront of the mouse, before going back to stareing into random amounts of space.
spike speigel
Percius arrived at the abse camp where soldiers sat around the fire, laughing. They had obviously won a battle. "So, I guess you won." Percius greeted them. "yeah, no thanks to you." won joked. "Where in the 'ell were ya'?" another asked. "Out for a walk." Percius replied, taking a seat next to a man polishing his sword. "We crushed them damn Elves." a jovial man shouted. "Here, Here!" the others agreed. "I bring some new that is more important than this celebration." Percius announced grimly over the voices of the happy soldiers. "What is it?" somebody asked. "There is a vicious power coming soon. A power that seeks to destroy the humans and elves." Gasps rang out around him. "Where'd ya here this?" the man polishing his sword asked. "A mage I met on my walk." Percius lied. "He had just escaped from some Elves. He told me to warn everybody about an evil, far more powerful then anything in this world."
The Harlequin
Rali watched the gathering part, nobody harmed. He sighed. Ah, a complete lack of amusement. Damn the anticlimax. He did, however, follow the two elves, interested to know exactly why they didn't attack the human, considering the advantage of numbers was on their side. He was close enough to hear their conversation, but when it got onto forces of evil, demons, end of the world, what not, he got bored and stopped listening. Not his problem. Really, it wasn't. He did pay attention however, when they started drawing weapons. A creature dropped from the canopy, some kind of demonoid, black human. Horned, clawed, and probably fanged. Run of the mill really. It snarled at the two elves, who dropped into fighting stances, eyeing the creature warily. Rali laughed to himself, and threw another knife, striking the creature in the shoulder. The creature roared. Unfortunately, the two elves were stupid enough to look around at him. He shook his head, and pointed towards the creature, who was advancing towards them.
Xra
Neo: Another knife? That's not the problem, Langal The Ner'Qual!! Langal: Right, lets go. The Ner'Qual continued at them slashing its big claws. Langal drew an arrow and let it go at high speeds. It hit the beast straight between the eyes. It was in pain, letting out a horrible screech. Neo picked up his enormous bastard sword and it lopped off one of the creature's arms. Suddenly, another knife flew right into the Ner'Qual's back. The creature continued to claw the air blindly. Neo: Langal, hit his forehead. Langal drew another arrow and aimed right above his last one. The arrow flew, and the monster slowly fell to the ground. Langal: These Ner'Qual are tough. And we're fighting an army? Neo did not answer. He was staring into the trees. Neo: Come out, whoever you are....
Mage of Kraa
A man stepped out from behind the trees. "They aren't that strong," He said, staring at the dead body of the Ner'Qual. "That was merely a scout, the warriors have scales that are hard to penetrate," Neo told him. "What? It took two arrows from Allamath in the forehead to slay this one, and you're telling me that the ones we are yet to fight are tougher?" Langal asked "The way you preach, elf, it seems the battle is done before it starts," said the man who came from the forest. "They do have weak points, which I will tell on the way, if you stay with us." Neo told him "By the way, what is your name, human?" Rhys Mayiessen
Shayleigh watched the large human eat his bread and share it with the mouse that happened to be near by. This human seemed a lot different than the others that she had met in her life. Shayleigh thought that all humans would be rough and uncaring, but this human seemed to be totally oposite to those qualities. She thought if she could just move a little closer to the human she could observe him much better. Shayleigh put her foot down planning to take that corse when a sharp crack from underneath her foot, froze her to the spot. The human came out of his musings and looked around, then looked directly behind him where Shayleigh lay in hiding. The human stared at her in surprise, he never thought that she would have been brave enough to actually follow him. He stood up and started to move towards Shayleigh.
spike speigel
It was later now. The people seemed to have calmed down from earlier, when Percius had told them the danger. But still, everyone was jumpy. Percius walked to the main tent of the camp. The commander had summoned him there. "Hello sir." Percius greeted the man as he entered. "Hello, Percius." the commander answered back. "There is word that a group of Elves is heading for here right now. We've begun setting up troops on the front lines already. In the battle earlier today, one of my platoon leaders was injured badly. Would you mind taking charge of that platoon for tonight?" "I shall do so." Percius answered. Though those two Elves had helped him earlier that day, Percius still felt that the majority of the race was slime. An hour passed, and everyone was set up at the front of the forest. Percius was at the head of his platoon. From inside the bush, slight rustling sounds could be heard. Percius readied his spear. A small army of Elves stampeded out of the forest. The humans braced themselves. Then, the two races clashed.
