LostProphet
I may end up going into the Army or Navy instead of the Air Force . Why you ask? The Air Force has already filled this years quota for manpower PLUS 40% of NEXT YEARS quota. I dont go Air Force, I'm totally screwed, because neither of the other branches have the same training as Air Force, which would look bad in the real world. Oh well, no way I'm going Marines
Sui Generis
I'm not much of an expert on all this army/navy/marines/air force stuff but don't give up hope. I'm sure if you try hard enough you can still get into it. Besides why do you wanna be in the air force? To fly? If so you can still fly in the Navy, just not the big bad *** planes...The smaller ones which would be the ones I would wanna fly.... Edit: Thanks Elite I was thinking of another plane, but now I forgot the name...*walks around wiht "IDIOT" Stamped on his head*

LOL! I'm not sure how the American military system works, but I'm guessing you can't get into the marines through the army?
LostProphet
No, you join one service, and you're there for the time you signed. You can get out and join a 'Reserve' component different than what you were in. (i.e. Join Marines, get out, then join Army Reserve) I mainly want to go Air Force, because its more family tradition than anything else. I don't want to go Army or Marines because I'd end up as 'Private Ryan', and thats the last thing I need. Navy...don't get me started on Navy. So much corruption, it's not funny
Yu Law
I wanna go to the airforce as well but not because of family tradition.Just to fly.its been a dream of mine since I was like in he 1st grade. I don't think its a good idea to join any of the forces because of tradition.I think you should do it because youwant to.You can't live your life for your family. You need to do stuff for yourself. Justin
Well, if it's flying you want the Navy is actually probably where you'll have a better shot. If it's just something that the Air Force offers that the others don't...well, yeah. I don't know what to tell you, dude. There's no way you could join up for next year's quota? -Justin

Change
Go into the Army, they give you a little more choice as to where you go, or so I've heard....
LostProphet
I'm pretty positive I'd go Army if it all came down to it. But I'm not joining JUST because of tradition. That was more of a guidance as to what service more than anything else. I'm mainly going in so I can get to college. My grades blow now, and I need the cash, even if my grades were good. Hinata
one thing... Are you out of school... And also how can they deny you. You are willing to go and they won't take you...(or am I understanding this wrong) if they don't allow you in their crazy because you can never have too many willing to fight for our country... But if you do choose the Army go luck man...Well that's with any thing!!!!
LostProphet
No, not yet. The program I'm going on lets me join, yet stay in school. Once I graduate, then they rope me in. They can deny me because of the budget and what its limited to. They can only pay its people so much before they cant take anymore. Plus the war threats are a big factor. I go in tomorrow. I'll try to post once more before I leave.
DeathKnight
Ah hell. Create your own Fascist army and take over Canada or something, that'd be alot more fun. Hm, well I dont know much about the system of joining the army, and neither do I really want to know =) But Good luck in your ventures, wherever you end up.
LostProphet
Well, the results are in... I am 'Temporarily Disqualified' from military service. Thats for any branch My blood pressure is way too high (161/92, then 151/91, then 135/80 and ending with something/96). Anything over 90 on the bottom number is bad, and thats obviously means I'm temporarily screwed..I do in tomorrow to try to get my waiver and be able to do the Blood Pressure part of the exam next week. But as for now, I'm still a high school student.
Lady Macaiodh
Damn, that really sucks. Kinda throws off all your future plans, huh? Which just goes to show you, you can't count on anything in this life, other than the laws of physics. Maybe Harry was right. Scary. o_O;;
LostProphet
I don't have hypertension. Acquired the waiver today, and I was on a monitor the past 24 hours. My BP can't go above 90, and it did 4 times...in 72 checks. I think I'm good to go...

Guest Matt
I am considering joining the Army of Air Force. I have always wanted in one of those brances. The Marines seems too tough for me and the Navy doesn't appeal to me. I just gotta get in better shape before I join tho. I'm thinking Army tho, after what you said about the Air Force being over-populated.
