I had a small assignment for my one for my classes to illustrate how well we can use the Photoshop brushes. This peice of art took me nearly 5 hours, drawing and coloring it wasn't easy :cross:

What do you think of it? It's a bit rough, but it is my first ever Photoshop illustration :)

Atleast it's not like them shoe-thingy's you drew.... ( i couldn't figure out for the life of me what they were at the time...)

Actually, i really like this, though i have one comment. The nose should be a bit darker, so it's a bit more visable. Other than that, i don't see any flaws ^^;;

Wow, Jenna!!
That's really, really neat! Are you sure that's your first Photoshop Illustration? :wow:

10/10! It's really beautiful!

I like the background lots too. :whoops:

Heh. I wish my first attempt had been that good. :p

The lighter lines [as opposed to black] are different. You don't see a lot of that. I love the background.

The eyes are lopsided as far as the "shine" goes. I know the one side of her face is darker, but they eyes just throw me off.

I'd add some shading-ness to her shoulders and clothes, the hair is good.

I like it. The lines give it sort of a clumsy "just woke up" feeling while the girl herself is very elegant. *laughs* I'm stuck in a paradox, help!

Very nice, Jenna. ^_^

[I could tell what the shoes were...]

I love the soft look. For some reason it reminds me of pastels. And, the eyes are beautiful. I really get lost in that part of the picture, in particular.

You might want to play with the pen tool. If you created paths, you could manipulate the creases in the clothing to your liking. Otherwise, I love the piece of cloth in the middle that's hanging down. The colors and lines on it rock. They're edgy.

The hair is probably the weak point of the drawing. I like the color, but it could use more shading.

Overall, it's wonderful for a first effort. The face, soft colors, and background are excellent.

You're right, it is a bit rough. There's not alot of contrast between the shades on her skin, and it gives her a very flat appearance. Also, where are her breasts? I mean, sure, they don't have to be huge or anything, but there's no shading there or anything, so she looks rather... err.. surf-boardish. Still, it is only a first attempt. Not bad.

Thanks for the comments! I thought people would just tear it apart :worried:

And, Queen Asuka, I drew the image myself, but I used a digital image as a reference. The reason the shading and coloration was so hard is because the image was a snapshot instead of an actual screen shot or piece of art, therefore I had nothing to reference and I am terrible with shadows and shading :bluesweat: I honestly have no concept of how light falls on the human face...I just do something until I think it looks ok.

Anyway, I'm starting to learn sooo much more about PhotoShop from this class I'm taking, it's awesome. Thanks again for all of the input!
