January 22nd, 2064. 7:00pm

Chapter One:The Attack on Valhalla

The small squad of Marines were gathered in the small, derelict building to plan an attack on one of the Chemical Drug Bays, which was engineering a potent drug called "Thor", which was explosive enough to wipe out more than half of New York City.

Colonel Marth Rigfield attached extra clips to his utility belt, and slammed one into the entry surface on his rifle.

As Marth was filling his grenade dispenser with HE grenades, his comm beeped. he reached up to a small button over the ear of his helmet, and touched it.

Marth:+Marth here, go ahead.+

Rali:+Sniper in posistion....Half and hour before I start firing...Get a move on, chief.+

Before Marth could snap at rali for being almost insubordinate, the Sniper expert shut the comm channel.

Marth:Marines! Listen up! We've got half and hour to reach the target! Finish getting the APC fueled, and lock and load!

Ryan- "Bout damn time..." I reached over my shoulder and grasped one of the knifes hooked to my suit. I brought it out and began to compulsively sharpen it. Smooth rounding motions were the way to go. Some believed in straight movements. I knew better. To gain maximum sharpness you had to use the rounding motions...

I sliped my current knife into it's holster and grabbed another, this one connected to my upper thigh. Sharpen... They must be sharp for battle. Silent kills... The only way to go. Sneak up behind them and slide the blade through their veins and arteries of the neck. Feel the life force drain from an individual... The rush was unbelievable...

I shuddered and looked at Marth. He requested me. I had been in fort MacMillan in New Colorado, honing my skills. Very strange. His eyes held a secret. One he wasn't going to share willingly... I wouldn't force it from him. I only cared to kill. But the others...

Grey picked up his .50 caliber HAW(Heavy Assault Weapon)and made sure it was loaded. He slung across his back along with his rifle, and checked that his pistol was loaded. Good. Everything was in place. He leaned against the wall as he waited for Marth to give the order.

OOC: (EDIT) My speciality is now electroincs suych as electronic door locks, computers, cameras, etc.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Orien stood from where he had been checking his ammo and weapons. He slung his rifle over his shoulder and walked over to the APC. He checked the heavily armored gas tank and walked over to Marth.
Orien:"Sir, the APC is fully fueled and ready!"

Marth nods, and hands Orien a small brown package.

Marth:New hacking equipment...See if you can look through their cameras, see what's going on.*orien nods*Okay, Marines! Get in the APC, I'm driving!

With a few groans, the Marines climb into the battered APC, and Marth guns the engines....

OOC: By the way...who am I shooting?

IC: Rali leant against the wall, absently sighting down the scope of his Barret M2A1A. He new it was perfect, and he didn't need it anyway, but staying alive meant checking.

Despite contrary belief, snipers spent most of their time behind enemy lines. Most people seemed to think they just assassinated important people, where as in reality the good snipers simply infused enough fear into the enemy that important people were irrelevant.

He checked his watch. 7:03. He had a lot of time. And it's not like this would be a hard set of shots...

ooc:Sorry, shoulda mentioned that....Basically, your sniping the Dug Bay's security forces. Also, AI means Anti-Infantry...It's basically a huge gatling gun ontop of the APC...Think the Warthog from Halo.
-----------------------------------------

Marth drove the APC down a narrow, worn down street, flying over upturned trash cans, and garbage lifts.

Marth:Sorry 'bout the rough ride, but we've got ten minutes until Snipe starts firing.

The rest of the Marines nodded thier understandings, but they all screamed aloud as Marth sent the APC over a large chasm opened by explosions.

Marth gripped the steering wheel with white knuckles, and the APC slowly began to fall.

With a bone-crunching THUMP! the APC landed on the other side, a few blocks away from the Dug Bay.

Marth:Look livley! Someone man the AI Gun!

John:Right away sir!

He climbed into the control area for the AI anf began sycthing fire back and forth across the Dug Bay

John: YEEEHAA!!

Marth:Move out! Get out there and start shooting!

The rest of the marines began piling out as John continued to fire.

As the Marines boiled out of the battered APC, Marth survied the chaos as he lobbed a grenade into the Drug Bay's main doorway.

Marth:Woo...Rali did a good job...Either he killed them all, or killed enough of him so that the rest holed themselves up inside.

Orien:+Marth! Internal cameras show that the Dug Lab Security Forces are hiding behind stacks of Thor!+

Marth:+Thanks Orien. Unplug your self from the networks, and come help us!+ Marines! Watch where you shoot! The scum are hiding behind the Thor, and if one of those blow, we all kiss this lifetime goodbye!

With this announcement, the Marines' fire became less chaotic, and more precicse and lethal as they begain to aim carefully, instead of just supressing those inside...

I gave Marth a look and bailed from the vehicle. I tucked myself into a ball and rolled to a stop once I hit the ground. I stood up slowly, catching the breath that was knocked out of me. One I had returned it to my body I broke into a run directly toward the compound. The APC was already there and firing, very carefully, at the criminals. Even as fast as I was going, it took me another minute to reach the walls of the Dug Labs. I activated the grips of my suit and began scaling the walls. I broke into a window with one of my knifes and jumped through.

I was in a research room. There were stacks of paperwork and charts. Probably the effects of the drugs... I quickly made my way through the room and out. The hallway was taupe. Why were all hallways taupe... I guess because it's a soothing color... I shook my head and walked down the stairs. Quietly I turned on my ear and mouth piece.

Ryan- "Marth, I'm almost at the entrance. How many are there..."

Marth "Six... No, five, Rali got one. What do you plan on doing?" I smiled and turned off my ComD. The doors were normal sized but pure titanium. I slid the locked latch open and peeked out. A bullet grazed to door mere inches from my face. I stepped through and walked up to the closest gaurd. I grabbed my waist knife and quickly slit his throat. Another fell from bullet fire. I walked up to another and stabbed him in his left lung. It deflated with a dull rush of air. I stabbed the other one and watched him drop. Immediately he started gasping for air in vain. I tossed his weapon away and moved on to the next man. He dropped like a fly from bullets. I stabbed the fifth in his neck. He bled out very quickly, must have been a user... I sliced the last mans weapon in half. He turned in surprise and I grabbed him by the neck.

Ryan- "A very good try, but you will all fail eventually." His head exploded, spraying blood all over me and the nearby wall. I dropped the headless corpse and looked at a faraway glimmer. I turned right at it and held up my middle finger. Soundlessly I mouthed '**** you Rali.' I jumped over the Thor and went to meet back up with the others.

Orien unplugged and piled out of the APC. He ducked behinf a pillar then sprinted forward to new cover. He popped up and pulled a bead on a criminal wielding a machine gun. He squeezed the trigger and sent a three round burst through his head. He switched over to full automatic fre and sprayed the area, felling several more.

As the sounds of gunfire stopped, the Marines slowly left thier cover, and looked around.

As no more shots were fired, the Marines let up a resouding cheer. Even Marth, who rarley showed any good humor, cracked a smile...It was his squad's first major victory scence the fateful landing.

Marth:Good job, team..+Orein, Rali, listen up...Rali, get back down here, and Orien, search through the computers, see if you can find any interesting information...The rest of you, search the offices, and the other Bays, see if you can find anything...Move out!+

Rali, still laughing at the look on Ryan's face, dismantled his rifle with the alacrity and ease of long practice, slinging it a case over his shoulder. He pulled out his standard rifle, and checked his combat knives in their sheaths. They were really standard, being shaped more like a scimitar scaled down than your normal knife, but they were effective when it came down to an outright fight, rather than just stabbing someone in the back. Which was also fun in its own little way...

He caught up with the others as they started ransacking filing cabinets. He looked at Marth, he gestured for him to join in. Rali swore softly, but started looking over documents.

Most of them seemed to be accounts of some sort, and it didn't seem there was anything untoward about them, so he threw them back. No one really seemed to notice, so he assumed it was the right thing to do. Ah well. It wasn't really his field. He just shot people from long distances.... And snuck into places he wasn't meant to be in. Both, actually, were remnants of a misspent youth...

Marth searched through what appeared to be some sort of office, though the floor was scattered with needles and blood...Probably from users of Thor.

Marth searched through the desk, but found a couple papers..nothing interesting..Then he came upon a couple CDDs(CmpactDataDisks), labled "Effects of Thor Project" and "Subhuman Reasearch".

Marth:What the hell?! +Orien! Get up here, and see what you can make of these!+

A few tense minutes later..

Orien:Yep...Videos...Data charts..The whole deal...Very disturbing...

Marth:About what?

Orien:Seems a company United Earth didn't know about....Called "Moon Fist". Set up shop a few days ago..Seems their engineering something...Don't know what, though...

Marth:Well, hack the disks, and give them to me for later viewing...This dosen't go outside of me and you, got it?

Orien:Right, Marth.

Orien was using a small portable computer to sift through the files on the CDs. He frowned.
"Password protected, eh?"
He typed rapidly for a few seconds, coming up with various passwords and firewalls.
Computer:"Acces, granted"
Orien:"Sweet...+Sir?+"
Marth:"+Yes, Orien?+"
Orien:"+I've managed to crack the code on one of these disce. Lots of data on this sucker...+"

A voice suddenly broke out across Marth's comm. It was his explosives expert Craig.

Craig: Yo boss... we blowin' this place?

Marth: We sure are marine, gotta' let you have a little fun. Set it up, I want the place levelled.

Craig: Yessir!

Cutting off the comm., Craig took the cigarette out of his mouth and blew the smoke from his nose. Then, popping the ciggarette back in his mouth, he pulled out a packet of C4-Semtex from his pack. He was at the centre of the compound, and, following his tradition, would set up heavy explosives at the central bulkhead, and then a lesser amount on each of the adjacent walls.

He rested the first pack of exmplosives against the bulkhead, and jabbed the ignition sticks into it. He then pulled out three more packs, setting them up on each side of the rectangular bulkhead. Then, he pulled out two remote mines for good measure, and attatched them to opposite sides of the bulkhead.

Craig: Ain't nothing gonna' be left of this place when I'm finished wit' it.

Chapter 1.5:It's The Back Way In..

As the APC streaked away from the Drug Lab, Marth gave a small nod to Craig, who pushed a small red button on a controller.

All of the sudden, the air behind them was filled with a bright red light, and a loud wooshing sound, then the sound of air decompressing, and exploding.

Soon, all that remained was a huge smoking crater.

Marth:Good job, Craig. Top notch, as usual.

Craig:'Thanks, boss.

As the APC rounded the corner to where the Marines were hiding, Marth slammed on the breaks, sending the APC into a ruined building, where it nearly rolled over.

Rali:What the hell was that?!

Marth:Someone's inside our home, Marines...Let's go in the back, and give them a surprise welcome...

After laying his rifle down carefully, Rali drew his knives, Ryan did the same. Almost mirroring each other, they disappeared in opposite directions. The others followed cautiously, levelling guns for covering fire. Not that either of them would need it.

Just before they lost sight of each other, Rali winked, and threw a strange salute. Ryan answered with a grin. They were currently even, and this could be the decider.

Rali was't sure what Ryan was doing, but he hadn't found much. Chances are, the people inside weren't aware their trap had been detected, so they'd be clustered around the door.

As he entered the building, Ryan came silently up beside him. Their eyes met, and they nodded. They both understood what was happening. Rali spread his hands questioningly, and made a few motions. "Get the others in?". Ryan's answering smile was vicious.

They set off silently, stopping just outside the doorway to the front room.

I pulled John very close and gripped my knife.

Ryan- "How much noise does a knife make? Very little. How much noise does a big fuçkin gun make," I whispered these words to him carfully putting just the right amount of revultion into each one. "To God-Damned much." I shoved him away and pointed back to the APC. Hatred flaring in his eyes, John stalked quietly back.

I looked at Rali and saw he was smiling at me. I mouthed 'How many?' Rali shrugged and slid something to me. I picked it up and found it to be a pair of thermal goggles. 'See for yourself,' he said.

I slipped the goggles on and flipped the switch. My vision went red. I peered into the wall and saw brightly lit figures on the other side. Three... Heavily armed. Plasma rifles from the heat signatures.

I held up three fingers for Rali and tossed the goggles back. I made a rifle gesture with my hands and mouthed 'Plasma'. His eyes widened and then narrowed to a slit. Plasma rifles had a tendance to blow holed not only through you, but through others one hundred feet away. I pointed upward at a window and we both nodded. I jumped up and grabbed the ledge. Slowly I pulled myself up, not wanting to make any noise. I unhinged the window and slipped in.

Faintly, there was talk from down the stairs. Rali was already in his window and sizing up the situation. I watched his eyes, tracking the movements of the men. We needed one alive. I hope he knew that.

Rali waited, eventually one of them was bound to move. Sure enough, one of the men finished a cigarette, and walked over to throw it in a corner. Right under the window.

Rali slipped forward and almost pencil dipped downwards, falling silently. DFA. Just before he hit the man, he kicked his heels back sharply. The struck his shoulders, propelling him face first into the wall. He was unlikely to die unless he struck wrong, but then he wouldn't be doing anything for a while either. The move also served to make the upper half of Rali's body lean forward. He went with it gracefully rolling forward over his shoulder before coming to his feet. Without the slightest pause, so that he could use the momentum, Rali sprang upwards. It appeared like a cartwheel, but his hands never touched the ground. His right foot, which struck the next man first, hit his head, jolting it sharply downwards, snapping his neck instantly. His left foot, striking half a second later, struck the man's spine as he fell, and Rali pushed himself off what little leverage he could get. The man's body slammed into the ground, Rali landed easily on his feet spinning around with an outer crescent that hit nothing but air. The man he had intended to hit lay on the ground, his throat spraying blood. Rali looked away to spare his eyes the shower. Ryan coldly wiped his knife off on the man's forearm. Nothing absorbed blood like skin.

Rali: Shall we go wake our friend up?

Joh stalke dbakc over to the side of the APC, muttdring under his breath.

John:"how much noise does a big effing gun make?" lousy SOB. Thinks him and his knives can do everything.

Continued muttering like this as he checked his gun. As he heard the sound of combat from inside, he rushed for ward and kicked the door in, his weapon ready to fire. He lowered his weapon as Ryan looked over at John with a smug lok on his face. John muttered under his breath and flicked the saftey on his weapon

John: Bastard....

Ryan- "Very true. My father was never made know to me." I gave John a patronizing look and walked back into the room where the uncosious man sat. I searched my sneaking suit and found a small box. I took it out and grabbed one of the pills inside. Rali propped the man up on a wall, mopping at the blood flowing from a cut over his eyes. We needed him to see. People that couldn't see tended not to comply.

I snapped one of the pills open and held it under the mans nose. He jerked awake and blinked the remaining blood away. He caught sight of Rali, John and I, and his eyes widened.

Man- "They're here! God-dammit ,they're he-" He caught sight of his dead accomplices. "Oh fuçk..."

Ryan- "Indeed. Now, if you would be so kind as to answer our questions, we might consider letting you go. Of course that all depends on how much you tell us." The man looked at me blankly as his skin paled. I sighed and drew my thigh knife. The man wimpered. "Does this help? Does this wonderful piece of metal make you feel better?" He shook his head violently. Rali chuckled quietly behind me. I sheathed my knife again. "Is this better?" He nodded. "Good. Now talk. Who are you people." The man looked behind me and stared at John and Rali, both of which were gripping their weapons.

Man- "My name is Allen. Allen LeFlorre. The two you killed were Siergio Lopez and Morris Sloat. We are mercenaries. We were hired by the company that makes THOR to take you guys down. They got wind of your little break in and wanted us to nuetralize you when you got back. We obviously failed... But. We do have a backup plan." The man touched a small button on his rifle. It was the excess plasma dump. He had a full cell. When one dumped the entire cell, it acted like a bomb.

Ryan- "ORIEN!" The man came into the structure in a full run.

Orien- "What? What?!" I pointed at the gun with a shaky hand. It would be useless to try and run from it. "Sh!t." He dropped to his knees and began to work on turning off the makeshift bomb.

I shot my gaze at the man sitting on the wall. My knife was at his throat in an instant.

Ryan- "Which one is it LeFlorre. I know you know." He smiled at me and laughed.

Allen- "I do know, but I won't tell you. Burn in hell." LeFlorre whipped out a needle and shoved it into his arm. He dropped like a sack of potatos. I cursed him under my breath.

Orien- "Which color..." I looked at all four again. My favorite color wasn't in there.

Ryan- "Red..." Orien reached toward the red wire with his clipper...
