How old is too old?

[color=blue] I was just wondering what ya'll think about age differences. I mean like if a 14 year old was to go out with an 18 year old would that be alright? (I'm not using actual ages because the difference is bigger then just that) I know about the laws and things but I just want to know if it's okay socially to say "I'm going out with a geu that's like six years older then me."[/color]

First off, the actual ages of the person. I generally try not to date someone that is 3 or 4 years younger or older than I am (thought my current GF is my age).

Second would be my state of mind at the time. Hey, I'm not gonna date someone older than me if I'm not gonna be mature enough for it.

And, natch, maturity would be the third. I'd date someone a bit younger than me (to an extent...nothing sick >.< ) if they were matrue enough, but that'd be the only reason I'd make an exception.

But, either way, when both parties are past 18...age is nothing but a number...yeah, I know, that's a bit confusing, but so am I ^_^.

if you're saying that you are 14 and they're 18(or something along those lines), then no. i dont think that you should get yourself into that situation. you may not see it now, but there are lot of negative things that could come from that. i think it would be best if you stuck with your own age group a little longer. maybe, by the time you're around 18, you'll be better able to handle a relationship with that kind of age difference.

i certainly hope you're not "doinging" the person, especially with an age difference like that. :)
