Sandy Posted March 27, 2003 Share Posted March 27, 2003 Aerith is the Japanese form of Aeris. Japanese have different alphabets than the western countries, so the translations vary much. Aeris is used in the translated games, but they're both equally correct. It's like the difference in American English and UK's English: armor-armour, judgment-judgement etc. Though many "purists" are sworn users of "Aerith", this is hardly an issue to be worried about. ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Semjaza Posted March 27, 2003 Share Posted March 27, 2003 There are many early copies of the US version of the game that default her name to Aerith instead of Aeris as well (it was fixed in later copies), so even more people point at that so they can prove to themselves it's the best version.
