Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
:) Today we'll use the way back machine to travel to 1987, after the recent success of butchering 3 really good anime series (Macross, Southern Cross, Genesis Climber Mosepdea) Studio Tanaka and a famous dubber called Carl Macek decided to continue the story of Robotech in the form of a tv series sequel. The title was called Robotech II: The Sentinels and despite it's anime roots form the past this series was to be american made with Studio Tanaka's animation style. The end result was a failed attempt at the rival of the Robotech Franchise and a horribly convoluted TV Movie reunion called *gasp* Robotech II: The Sentinels. The basic plot was Rick Hunter and Lisa Hayase were preparing to get married the day before the Maiden voyage of the SDF-3, some events happen including the Invid from (Mosepdea) taking over the Robotech Masters homeworld which the SDF-3 was headed. The end result is 3 incomplete episodes that only tell the story of the wedding ceremony of Rick and conquest of the Tritol by the Invid. In short this is a horrible anime that currently is out of print, and quite intelligently the revival of Robotech was dropped by Harmony Gold after they saw these three episodes. So has anyone had the pleasure or should I say torture of seeing this mockery of Macross, Southern Cross, and Mosepeda?
