When I was in Brazil, I discovered more things than Big Brother Brasil and MTV.........Anime. Brazil has WAY more Anime then both the US and England. And this was on Cartoon Netowork, folks. That's pretty sad. But actually, CN in Brazil is awesome. They have everything that we do times 5. Now, this might dissapoint you to know but.... CN in Brazil has already been all the way through DB and DBZ since 2000. They stopped showing DBZ last year, according to my cousins who are HUGE fans of the DB series. Right now, they are half way though DBGT in Brazil. The great thing about Brazil is that they keep most of their Anime as original as possible. DBGT has all of it's original Japanese music. The only difference from the Japanese original is that it is in Portuguese. And it's so funny to see the Japanese mouths move almost EXACTLY as they say the words in Portuguese. In English, we just look at it like....blah....(well, I do at least). Up and down....the whole episode. And I'm sure how most of us know all the extra words FUNI puts in the English dialogue for us to suffer through....all those crappy puns Vegeta has to say.... But in Brazil, all they do is translate it exactly from Japanese to Portuguese and they're done. They don't spend time screwing with the dialogue to try to make it sound good. It already does. And on top of that, they show all of their Anime there UNCUT. I guess it's kind of a culturistic difference. And that's just the DB series. There are TONS more Anime in Brazil. They have SO much more then we do, it's not even funny. Like we don't even have Shaman King yet and there it is in Brazil, played on Fox Kids channel. That is so not fair. That God I'm go to Brazil every year....hell, my mom's from there and I have TONS of family there....I'm going to live there for a year when I'm 16. Anyway, I want to hear your comments. There's simply a bigger market there and like everything, the US gets in the trends last. I mean. We just got boy bands within the last decade and The rest of the world has had them for eons... [/B][/QUOTE] We've had boy bands since at least the 1960's, although "Real World" is the earliest American reality show I can think of. Anyway, I've always wanted to get ahold of a Spanish-translated anime. They always seem to be unedited and I can understand raw Spanish a little bit more than raw Japanese. That was in 1960 when the dubbed it. But they didn't dub another anime untill 1990. By that time France, Spain, and Mexico were the heads of countries dubbing animes. [/B][/QUOTE] Dude your anime history is so off, yes your right about AstroBoy aka Rocket Boy but other animes were dubbed in the 60's and 70's and even 80's. Speed Racer, Gigantor, Galaxy Express 999, Voltron, Macross/Robotech, Star Blazers the list can go on and on...that was a really bad mistaken on your part to say animes weren't dubbed in English massively until 1990, and you're well wrong. You say I don't know my anime history. I am anime history(Sorry if that sounds cocky). Gatchaman(80's dub, not 70s), Speed Racer, Voltron, "Macross", and all those other animes were vasely spread out in their times, and then were brought together. Anime did not become popular untill 1995 in a sense. Anime was "popular", but in 1995 is when Anime became mainstream, and when I stopped watching a lot of it dubbed. 1995 is when it became the fad in America, and anime started getting clunked together as saturday morning cartoons, and Toonami. As for America's dubbing period, Anime wasn't heavily dubbed again until the early 80's, in which the general American thought it was an American show. You just came in here to criticize me? *shrugs shoulders* Oh well...people make mistakes. *hands hellsing CN schedule for DBGT* I know that the DVD/videos are coming out in May here in the US, but I was also reffering to when GT is going to be aired on CN, which is planned to be sometime this fall. It would make sense, because FUNI is already releasing the episodes on VHS and DVD, and CN would be desperate enough to put those up, since god knows there is no way they are going to show the whole series straight through the first time. Plus, it's hard to imagine the Dragonball name off CN for so long. ;) Not that that's a bad thing; some times it's good to let things set, and bring in something new. After the cell saga DBZ was moved to CNX. And now we get GT on it. GT started at the start of April, and the first saga has just finished. It is really weird why the US gets DBGT last of all. They did do the dubbing into english, so why does the UK get it first? Very weird... I feel sorry for all you guys over there, if u have to wait til about August or September... You guys are getting GT First, because your dub is way ahead of ours in terms of GT, because FUNi works on Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball GT now, where you guys work on GT(which I might add is better than FUNis). We get a different dub. Blue Water dubs yours GT. Blue Water is a subdivision of Ocean. Thats why you're getting those episodes of GT long before we get FUNis.
