I was just wondering if anyone has ever been to any of the Disney theme parks? The one in California or the one in Florida? I've been to the one in Orlando Florida and I'm so excited to be going again this weekend. It's a well needed vacaction during Spring Break. Every two years our band goes to Disney World and it's so awesome. This will be my second time! ^_^

So, if you have been to either one, what are your thoughts and what were your favorite things about the parks?

Oh and by the way, you're never too old to go to Disney World, just to let you know. It's fun for all ages. Especially the rollercoasters. ^_^

Gosh, I can't count how many times I've been there. Well, after all, Orlando is only 2 hours from here.

I've been to Islands of Adventure, The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Wet n' Wild, Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios and some others I can't remember the names of. I really can't pick a favorite, because I've enjoyed them all since I was a kid. It's an easy thing to predict that you'll have a good time, if you decide to go to any of these theme parks.

Well, if I had to pick one, I'd pick Busch Gardens. Nothing like roller coaster heaven. That one is in Tampa, though.

lol, I'm looking forward to it, too. still gotta learn my music for the parade though, they came up with the quint part while I was working on snare, so I'm gonna be learning it the day before we leave ~.~'. oy. can't wait until Friday! not really looking forward to the Animal Kingdom *blEH*, but I'm really looking forward to the Island of Adventures and Epcot.

Cyke, maybe you could help me with something. what could I get down at Disney souvenir-wise that a guy around your age would like?

Huge Mickey Mouse ears :p

Whe I was a kid, whenever I dreamt of an overseas experience, it HAD to inclue Disneyland, now though, While I would still like to experience it, there are quite a few other places I would like to see as well. I still think disneyland is a great place.

I'm sure you had fun ~_^

I just went to Disneyland a few weeks ago ^_^ I went to Disney World when I was very young and I don't remember it.

However, Disneyland was super fun! Even though its size isn't comparable to Disney World, it was great to be able to cover the entire park in a day. I think it's time for me to get a season's pass so that Erik and I can keep going back :D

The second time I didn't really go to Disney world that much...I think we only went to Magic Kingdom...hehe so I haven't been to much of the others....I'm hoping that someday I will^^

Oh, I love DW!!! I went to the one 3 times in Florida when I was from ages 3-6. I miss it! I still even have my old autograph book!
I've been to Disneyland in California 2 times. My last trip to that one was in 2001. It was pretty fun. I think the only Disney theme park that sucks is the California Adventure, since when I saw the commerical, it seemed only to cater to children under 10.
Overall, Disney World has been my favorite place.
I really want to go to Tokyo Disney in Japan and Euro Disney...but I'm not sure what part of Europe that is in. I think it's France.
Does anyone remember The Tower of Terror or Splash Mountain?
Those sure bring back memories....
Well, it is a small world after all.....

I hate Disney... I live in Orlando... i boycott all disney products (with the exception of Aladin, Lion King, and Tigger) and their theme parks, even though I went to Magic Kingdom a few months ago (I went to free so it didn't matter)

As far as I see it, and I know this sound ridiculous and radical, but Disney is trying to take over the world... slowly might I add, but none-the-less...

They have their own little city here in orlando called "Celebration."... you might just think... hey, a disney city is all cool... what you don't know is that is basically can do what it wants. the State and federal government have no power in Celebration. It's as if it's an own country basically. They have a disney run fire department, a disney run school system. Everyone who lives there works pretty much works for a disney company or is on their payroll somehow. In school, the kids don't do anything. The teacher asks "so what do you want to do today" and they do whatever they want.... learning is not required because, as I said, it's not run by the givernment.

Under Disney world, there are secret tunnels. I'm sure you've heard of this... you may think it's a mall or places where the little people dressed in goofy outfits go, but there's something odd about it. Tunnels and basements in Florida are unheard of, yet there's this massive thing under Disney. I often wonder what they do in there... oh well

Thats just my thoughts... I've been on a boycott for 7 years or so... The only thing good to come of Disney is Alladin, Lion King, gay days, Tigger, and ESPN... thats it...

I love Disneyland!! ^_________^
I've been to the one in Orlando like, three times, and the one in LA five times. ^^

I think I like the decorations and shows a little better than the rides, though. I like the rides a little better at Universal Studios. ^_^;

Anywho... In Orlando, my favorites are Epcot and Fantasyland. Epot is just plain kewl, and Fantasyland is really, really pretty.

I've had a bad experiance at Animal Kingdom before, soo... >>;;;

Been to Disney World 8 times each time it just kept getting more and more of a tourist trap too expensive and not worth the price. I also have gone to Tokyo Disney -_- which now is closed that was rather disappoint but it was funny to have the Mickey guy in a suit say hello in Japanse. As for DisneyLand haven't been there yet but perhaps I'll go during Anime Expo 2003 apparently it's close by to the convention site from what I've heard.

They use those tunnels to trnasport things around the park without being too distracting to the visitors. I heard that all of their garbage cans are connected to a massive pipeline of waste beneath the park, but I don't know if that is true or not.

I am a huge fan of Disneyland, it is probably my favorite place in the entire world. When I was younger I used to live very close to it, so my family and I would go practically every weekend. There is a lot of stuff to do there, so I have no idea how some people can claim to "do it all" in one day. But that's just me, I am a big fan of everything Disney-related.

I'm going on the 18th with my newspaper class, and then my graduating classs is going there on Grad-Nite. It should be fun.

Sadly, I have not been to Disney World, but I plan on going there someday. California Adventure isn't very popular among people who live in the area.

Rick Hunter: Disneyland is across the street from the convention site.

I've been to Disney Land in Cali twice, its pretty fun. But I perfer Six Flags (I went to the one in LA)with their massive roller coasters.... like Goliath and Riddler's Revenge..... ahhh.... I went on every ride there, many times. We got there at 9am and left around 10-11pm. I got sick, and my cousin, aunt and uncle had black outs so, I think we had enough fun. ^^ Also have been to Universal Studios in Cali, it was pretty fun, but still, none compair to Six Flags!

I've been to Disneyland 3 times, and that damned California Adventure once.

The first time I went to Disneyland, I don't remember. I think I was 3 or 4. The second time, I was 5 or 6, and too short to follow my older brother to any of the rides he went on. I went on the Tea Cups, though.

The most recent time I went to Disneyland, I was 12 and I went with just my mother. Since I could both remember this trip and go on all of the rides, it was pretty fun. Shame I didn't get to do everything, though.

A couple years ago, I went to LA with my father for a family reunion. Me and some of my cousins went to California Adventure, where there was only one rollercoaster, one good water ride, and the McDonalds was twice the price it should be (and the value meals didn't include the drink!)

If I find myself with a good sum of money, I think I might pack up and drive to Southern Cal (only takes a couple of hours) and spend a weekend in Anaheim.

Well for me

just this last summer i dissapered from OB for about a week. I went to florida.

First day we got there... we checked into the room around 7:30 in the morning.. and by gorge the sun was already up i swear... We got on the dumb shuttle and spent our first day there in Epcot.
I enjoyed that one...Hunny I shrunk the audiance.. bwahaha.. that was fun..yet wierd. We spent the whole day there it was overly dark by the time we got back to the room

On the second day I decided i wanted to go to animal kingdom. So we spent the day there.. it began to rain as it did the day before around evening time. The rain was good though... Anyways so im wheeling myself around animal kingdom all day... and such.. what fun.

Once back to the room i felt like i was to pass out. Its kind of difficult to push yourself around in a wheelchair... When the ground is always bumpy and UGH! oh well...

the next day i figured i needed a litthe thrill so we went to MGM studios. BWEE! that was so fun... Tower of Terror... recommended yeeeehaww! Loved that one.. and the rockin rollercoaster too. I even got to park my wheelchaior at the top of the shair well thing and watch the beauty and the beast thing! Fun yet... odd

well i got more and better sleep that night because mgm studios roads and such are paved smooth and no bumpy rockways.. So... from there we went to.. Magic kingdom.. i wheeled around there and enjoyed myself.. till it was about...say..4 pm

We had to rush.. get a cab...lug our bags along with us (we checked out of the room that morning and luged our luggage to that place with us and jsut rented lockers) We got to the airport and missed our flight.. but we caught the next one which was not so bad.

We get to dallas texas and seeing how we missed our flight we were now on the standby list thing. so the flight from dallas to portland was full so we had to get a room and spend the night... about noon the next day we finaly got on a flight and finaly returned home. Let me tell you... that was soooooo fun... but unfortunatly illnever do it again. My asthma has worsened.. and the humidity did not help. and well... yeah.. but it was worth it.. exept airplane food.. and all that waiting!

-------

edit: I went to disney land forever ago. I cant even remember it.. exept 3 things.

1: I was tciked because micky mouse.. i never got to see him

2: Minie mouse kised my hand and scared the crap out of me

3: When the guy in the pluto suit was giving a huge group of kids autographs and not paying atention to me.. i walked behind him grabbed his tail and yanked as hard as i could.... the guy in the suit couldn't help but yelp in pain the way... it pulled.. HAHAH the things i do when i was to young to remember...

that was so long ago.. i cant remember even i think i was 4.. 5 perhaps.. not even in kindergarten..

Transtic, that doesn't sound like much of a boycott to me, lol...

Nooo, I've never been & I really want to! I'm obsessed with roller coasters, the scarier the better. I've heard Disney World has some good ones.

I usually go to King's Dominion in VA... it's great. But this is the first summer I won't be able to go because I'll be in the 3rd trimester for most of it. Bah!

Well I've never bought anything related to Alladin, Lion King or Tigger, I just don't hold the fact that Disney made them against em. I HATE pooh, which is why i love Tigger... and Alladin and Lion King are the only decent movies Disney's ever made. And I downloaded those so I didn't pay a cent for them. I don't give my money to disney, so it's effectively a boycott.

Every time I go to Disney World I get annoyed... I love Alice in Wonderland, and I have this hope that maybe not every single thing they sell that has to do with it will be aimed at girls. Every damn time I am let down, with tons of pink shirts with flowers and Alice dolls. Bleh.

Otherwise, the park is okay. I never thought it was amazing, as I go to parks for the rides... And most of the rides there simply aren't that exciting. I did like the Indiana Jones ride at Disney Land though.

I prefer stuff like Great America, which is about an 45 minutes from where I live. Disney whatever is all very far from Chicago, now that they closed down Disney Quest.

If you boycott Disney, you also have to boycott most TV shows, anything involved with Touchstone or Miramax, as well as a lot of record labels here. It's not so cut and dry anymore.

And if you're going to boycott anything, start with Walmart. They're far more like what you're describing than Disney is, especially if you read up on what they are doing in countries like China right now.

Luckily, I refuse to shop there... so I'm covered anyway heh.

Well if it's any consolation, I don't shop at hick-mart nor do I go in one.... they are always dirty and nasty.

For some reason that statement slightly offended me. I guess it's because I live in the South and I like Wal-Mart and I always thought it was a decent store if you needed something pretty cheap. But that's just me...

And Semjaza, last time I went to Disney World, I got to take a picture with Alice. She was so cute. It was then that I had my heart set on being a worker at Disney so I could dress up as Alice. I don't ever see that happening, but it sure would be nice. ^_^

Heh, I honestly can't think of one. People stopped giving me Disney toys and stuffed animals when I reached a certain age. Hmmmm... maybe a picture of you, or of you and the guy, in a Disney frame of your choosing. I can't guarantee that he'll like it, though. I'd find that nice of someone however, especially if the girl's close to me.

I live in the south and I don't particularly like Wal-mart. I find them to be really dirty and nasty. Everyone I've been in has been like that, even if it's brand new. Wal-Mart is also the only department store thingy to have gained any profit in the last 2 years.

Anyway, back to Disney. Disney has evil plans, and by the end o fthe century, everyone will be driving in little tea cups and singing little happy songs and ugh, it'll be horrible.

Well then, I guess it's too late for me. Aside from driving around in a little teacup, I sing happy little songs all the time. ^_^;

Well, you live in Florida. Maybe the Wal-Marts in Georgia are just better.

There aren't any Walmarts actually in Chicago. They're all in the suburbs. I've had the same complaints with pretty much every Walmart I've been into though... Around here, they are mostly frequented by pretty crappy people that like to destroy the store. A new one opened here and they had backed up toilets a few times the first week because of the customers. Bleh.

I have been to a real nice one down in Carbondale though, so I guess it just depends.

Anyway, I've never gotten to see anyone dressed up as Alice... I think just a Mickey Mouse, and that was in a parade. I managed to find these really cool Alice in Wonderland illustrations this weekend (to be framed)... They are from the book though, and not the Disney stuff; so I guess that doesn't matter haha.
