I use to watch it on Japanese TV when it first aired got to see the true first season and the ruthlessness of Kaiba really appealed to me on the show. Also the whole magic the card game meets anime idea really was rather interesting.

So mainly I'd say I got into Yugioh thanks to the characters and mainly Kaiba.

I had watched it since it first came into English, because I try to watch any anime I can. I thought it was pretty interesting. When the school year began a couple other students were talking about the card game and the show. I was surprised to find out that my english teacher collects Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I started buying cards and my teacher let us come in during lunch time to duel. Unfortunately, I just found out today that we're not allowed to come in for lunch anymore. My friend said that he asked the vice principal why and she said that it was because it's not educational. (And eating lunch in the cafeteria is...?)

Hm...well my crumbum friend told me to watch yu-gi-oh because it was really good and he was super obsessed, but I really didn't like it after the first 3 eps I saw. Heh I thought too many people explained every detail multiple times for no reason, still do...kinda, and I stopped watching it for a week or 2. Then for some reason I started watching it again, around the time yuggy faced kaiba on duelist kingdom, and since then I've just been watching it every day and recording the Sat. eps (why wake up early when u have a vcr). I'd buy the cards and play that too, heh but all my $$ is going to buy Kenshin dvds, oh well.

I first started watching it when we got Sky (satellite). I was mostly interested in Zoids at the time, but since Yu-Gi-Oh was afterwards I'd keep watching, and gradually my interest in it grew, to the point where I got a Yugi Starter Deck for Christmas and a pile of 50 LOB cards.

I found it rather odd at first- Yugi's eyes freaked me out, with the white centres but I'm used to it now. In the earlier episodes he looked like he was on something illegal but the animation's improved through time. I also thought the style was a lot more 'chunky' than other animes I'd seen, and that put me off slightly too. As with most things I tend to dislike at first, though, I grew to love it ^_^; I have a whole two boxes of cards I don't use now, and I still buy more every week.

First I heard a lot about it from a friend of mine. I happened to start watching it and just fell in love. It was somewhere around the end of school year.

Then, there's been the card game, which I've played online since september/october, and styarted to buy just after christmas.

I got in the manga pretty (French version, mind you), but I was hooked in a second.

Haha, coincedence! That was the first FULL episode that I saw. The very first time I saw it was when my dad was flipping channels and it happened to land on ytv. It was the first day they were airing it and I came in on the part were Yugi was summoning exodia. I wanted to see the rest but my dad continued his channel surfing.

When I saw the Weevil epps I got somewhat discouraged. It looked... Weird :p The way they kept repeating their strategies and saying " your gonna lose" ect kinda seemed lame to me. But I continued watching it and now... I'm completly obsessed with it :D
My fave Character (and and current obsession) is Marrick (or Malik as some call him).

So you could say that I got interested cause I just happened to come across it one day and decided to stick around for the rest.

I saw it and liked it but I saw the unedited Japanese sub. If I would have seen the crappy American version first I might not have ever gotten into it...

Also on side note, I really liked it because of the monsters. They aren't all cutsey and lovey like some Pokemon(no offense). And I love the way they come up on the simulators. ^-^
Yeah..I'm easily amused.

A friend told me about it, I watched an episode and laughed my *** off. XD But, since I always look for the uncut, I searched the web. Then I found out about Shonen Jump. My friend heard about it too, and bought the second issue. I read it, and I read Yu-Gi-Oh! I loved that Yugi got beaten up a lot. XD I saw how freaky "Yami Yugi" was, and the perverted jokes made me laugh out loud, so I fell in love with it. *sniffle* T-----T XD

Well, I saw a commercial for the premiere once during Pokemon, and then I caught the Yugi vs. Weevil/Insector duel. However, I wasn't very interested. By the time Cartoon Network aired the first episode (it was a one-shot thing), I was interested and I watched it. After that, I was trying to figure out when it aired on the WB and I started watching more of the episodes. When the weekday airings started, I got all caught up, and I haven't missed an episode since.

Man, I'm replyin to an old topic, but oh well. This is my first time seein it. ^_^

But anyway, I got into Yu-Gi-Oh! by watchin the show. The first ep I saw was one of the eps where Yugi was against Kaiba(towards the end of Duelist Kingdom. Yes, I was behind.). When I saw Yami and Kaiba against each other and I saw how Kaiba was willin to let himself get killed by Yami, just to save his brother, and then suckered Yami and defeated him, then I knew I was hooked.

But what got me deep into Yu-Gi-Oh! was definetly gettin them Japanese eps of Battle City. I was finally able to get my hands on atleast 15 or so eps of Yu-Gi-Oh! so far(still lookin for some more), and I must say, I have fallin in love wit the show. If you view my personal website, you'll see how much I've fallin in love wit Yu-Gi-Oh!. ^_^ As a matter of fact, I had to go ahead and get the majority of the openings and endings of Yu-Gi-Oh! for myself since I love the songs so much(especially "Shuffle" and "Ano Hi No Gogo")

The main reasons you can say I love it is because of Kaiba and the 3 Yami's(Yami Yugi, Yami Bakura, and Yami Malik...ESPECIALLY Bakura and Malik. :D)

But yeah, since I saw the Japanese eps of Yu-Gi-Oh!, I have basically fallin in love wit the show. And all though I HATE to read, I'll probably still order some of the mangas just to add to the collection(since now that I have all the eps of Dragonball Z, its time to change to Yu-Gi-Oh! and Yu Yu Hakusho. Get those entire collections. ^_^)
