Shinken
Out of the given choices, the Aston Martin DB5 is my favorite. But my overall favorite car would have to be the Pontiac Grand Am GT. They're faster than all heck, and they look sweet, that they do. My second favorite car is the Dodge Neon. We've got one of those, and let me just say that it is the only non-human object I have ever deemed "sexy". :demon: Saiyan Out :demon:

Red
No order except alphabetical, eh? :P The one car brand I cannot stand is Lotus. All the cars produced by them seem way too overdone, with too many dents/streaks/vents. Someone just bought a TVR Tuscan on my street, too; so I'm leaving 5 minutes early in the morning to stare. James
Just because of their looks? lol Lotus is a really strong car company. Just try driving the Elan or Elise and you'll change your mind pretty quick. ~_^
Red
Looks mean a lot with a car! Especially due to the fact that I can't drive yet, lol. I've been driven around in an Elise, and I just thought it was really awful. Cars like Ferraris are low down on the road, but don't look as though they are. Lotus' look about an inch high.
James
Well, Lotus cars do tend to look pretty good (in my opinion) -- and they are a certain type of car. Remember, they aren't meant to be comfortable and luxurious. They are sports cars...they are raw vehicles designed for speed and handling. And on both those counts, they're right up there with Ferrari. Even Ferrari doesn't pile on the luxuries like people may expect.
Guest Fiasco
I just have to say these 2 cars. McLaren F1 and the Saleen S7. Saleen may not be fast, but hell, its one of the best looking cars around. McLaren F1 is one of the fastest cars of all time, its estimated value is at 1 million dollars. Either of those two cars are my favorite. Or any of the LeMans race cars =D
Change
I had to vote for Delorian, if I'm going to travel back in time, I might as well do it in style. ;) That is one sweet car James =/ If only I had $35,000 to burn.
BlackDragon465
I like many so I don't really have a favorite however I like a lot how the Ferrari looks so I just voted to one of the first cars that came to mind that I like. I just voted because of how it looks even though I like a bunch of cars besides the Ferrari.
James
The car I'm most looking forward to now is the new Skyline. *drool* And the Nissan Z is pretty cool, too. If I could buy any car in the world right now, it'd either be an R34-GTR or a Z.
Kent
Man, that skyline is kinda dissapointing... I loved the R34's but that new one just looks a bit too much like the new Z's. Although, that skyline is amazing looking. I would say my fav. japanese car is the nsx or the skyline... I love them both.
James
It does have a similar shape, but I'd say it's a less radical design than the Z. The Skyline is a bit more conservative, which is probably a logical decision considering that it's such an icon. I don't think Nissan wanted to shock too many people. I also like the NSX, but it's fast becoming a waste of money. You can get a Porche 911 for about half the price (or maybe even less) and still get significantly better performance and luxury. So I think the NSX is starting to show its age in a major way. But I guess it'll always be a legendary Japanese supercar.

Armadillomon
I just love the new Volkswagen Beetles! Why wasn't it on the list? It's just so retro and comes in a bunch of awesome colors! (And no, before anyone asks, I'm not a hippie.)

But the supra is also nice... I also agree with james on the nsx thing... It is getting aged and even worse is the fact that the newest one was restyled and took on many traits of the new S2000. That made me unhappy. I also agree with james about that specific german car... its an amazing machine and by far one of the greatest cars. (regardless of price.) but in regard to price, it out classes most, if not all of the competition. BTW... This is the toyota supra...
Transtic Nerve
Originally posted by gokents BTW... This is the toyota supra...
That Supra is so sooped up it's not even funny. You'll never see that version of a Supra on the road. That seems to have loads and loads of personal touch to it. One of my good friends owns a Supra. Actually about 3 people around here own a Supra, including Hulk Hogans 14 year old son. It's red, pretty damn sweet. I want to own a Supra. I want my friend's black one. I asked if he would sell it. He seems rather willing. lol I see an NSX every now and then on the road here. There's a guy that owns one around here. He also owns a Ferarri, an older 70's model and a newer model as well. Sunday I went to this guys house who's restoring a Shelby Cobra and a Stingray. He also owns a 60's Impala and a 30's ford. It's pretty sweet. As well as a Prowler. They were all very nice.

I'm talking about really tasteful Japanese cars. But also really aggressive after-market additions. For instance, if you go to the local train station where I live...it is not uncommon for you to see three Toyota Supras roll past within five minutes, each with an insanely wild bodykit (and an obviously highly tuned engine -- at least based on the throaty growl). The kit in that image is pretty tame compared to what you will see in Australia and Japan. Have you seen the Japanese Auto Salon? They do some really wild kits -- many of them sanctioned by the car companies themselves. And funnily enough, quite a few of those cars make it to the roads in some form. Especially in inner city Melbourne, you'll see a lot of heavily modified Japanese cars. It's really common to see an "aftermarket" Lancer Evolution (in other words, a base model Lancer which has been modified to the point of insanity), with the full-on RalliArt decals running along the sides and such. The great thing is, it's not some guy's crappy plastic sticker...it's full racing decals. I remember that a Japanese motorist wrote to an Aussie car magazine a few years ago, saying how he wishes he lived on the Gold Coast. When he was visiting, he saw a huge number of classic Japanese racing cars which were lovingly restored and modified with new parts. He was saying that even in Japan, it's not done as much. So I found that interesting. And it's one thing I really love about the local car market here. And in Melbourne in particular, with the relatively high Japanese population, you'll find a lot of Japanese car enthusiasts. I'd certainly be very happy with a RalliArt Lancer. ~_^
Transtic Nerve
I dunno but I would venture a guess that it's insanely cheaper to not only purchase a Japanese car, but to have any additions to it made. I could be wrong, I dunno. Maybe Aussie's just have better tastes. lol. People don't have alot of body kits here for Supras. I've seen one on an early 90's model Supra, which was sweet. lol. The majority of cars you see here sooped would be Honda Civics, Acura Integras, any small 4-cylinder Japanese car. Occationally you get the American car all nice, mostly Ford Mustangs. I would love to soop up my Stealth. I am planning a few changes here and there. It already has custom rims and a paint job lol. But thats about it. It'll be rice.... My friend said I should put some Nos in it lol. I laughed and said I don't think so. I have no intentions to race my car... plus any Honda Civic or any 4-cylinder car would easily beat me if they had Nos as well. I simply can't keep up with the weight of my car to theirs. Anyway, back to the subject. It would be nice to see some sweet Supras out here. It'd be nice to see alot of sweet looking cars just driving around. If everyone did it, it'd be alot cheaper to get it done lol. Weird how that works.
James
Yep. And the demand for aftermarket services (particularly for Japanese cars) in this country means that it's widely available. Even companies like Mazda Australia and Nissan Australia offer some level of custom aftermarket modification. It's a big industry. Also, Japan is our closest trading partner in general. The automotive industry has some huge benefits from that relationship. I mean, the government recently passed special laws for low volume specialized imports -- the kind that you'd never normally be able to buy without personally importing them yourself (at a massively inflated cost). And as such, companies like Mitsubishi are now releasing limited production Japanese Evolutions and such. I hope the same will be true with the next Nissan GT-R. It's proven to be a really popular change in the trade law here...and it means that sometimes you'll see some of these really rare cars on the street. Good stuff. ^_^

All foreign cars tend to last longer which is precisely why they are so damn popular. In the 70's when the Japanese auto industry boomed, the reason why they did so well is because a) they were cheap b) they were built better, and c) they didn't eat up all that fuel that american cars do and did. If you give the average American a Japanese made car and an American made car, chances are the Japanese made car will have less problems and typically last longer than the American car. My family owns 3 Japanese cars, 2 of which were actually manufactured in Japan, and one of them, my car, is a Mitsubishi. Sure it has problems, every car does, but you can't just say Mitsubishi's suck lol. Thats a matter of opinion, like you said, and is simply not true. Fords suck too, but again thats an opinion. Just think about it, if Japanese cars were the worst cars ever, why does just about every country in the world have them? Why do you see them everywhere? I'd love to go to Australia and see what you all have to offer for cars. Seems to be a rather huge market for em. :)
two words dodge viper (any kind will do) ||
Oh yeah, some guy around here owns a nice Viper coupe.
