Loopy Link?

I was just watching this TV special on Zelda, and it was reviewing all the games. But what caught my eye was the game that I had never known about. Mainly because Nintendo disregards practically all knowledge of it. (Acording to the TV Show)

There was this interactive CD player that Nintendo joined up with for a Zelda game. But I guess (As well as I can remember form my show) Nintendo tried weaving out of the deal really want to progress the game.

So the game was made anyway, and it was really bad. Side-scrolling levels with bad game-play. And it wasn't very Zelda-like either (The series was still early though). Link was a totaly cheesey character. And Zelda was practically a flake.

Dialogue sample:
Link: How 'bout a kiss? *wink*
Zelda: In your dreams *Giggles*

No wonder Nintendo doesn't talk about it.
So, I just found out, but what did you guys know? Does anyone have either this game, or the two other games in this abomination of a series?

Very strange.

Nintendo had absolutely nothing to do with that.

A long while back, Nintendo had plans to make a CD addon for the SNES. They originally were working with Sony, but backed out of that to go with Phillips. Of course, this pissed off Sony and the Playstation was born. Nintendo wound up dropping the whole thing with Phillips as well.

However, due to some legal reasons Nintendo had to give some things up to Phillips. One of which was the use of some Nintendo characters for Phillips' CD-i, and interactive CD player game machine thing.

So a few Zelda games were made, along with a couple random Mario ones. There was also a spinoff of Super Mario World that was never completed. Nintendo had absolutely nothing to do with the production of these games, which is why they are totally ignored and will hopefully be forgotten.

What always bothered me about that picture was Link's hands. They're all gnarled up and disgusting... they look like they'd be on someone rotting in a grave somewhere.

Luckily you can't see that Link appears to be wearing hot pink lipstick in this picture, since he's covering up his mouth.

I can fix that, lol. Take a look at this other pic. You may want to get a throw up bowl before you click it, though. :p

*screams bloody murder* How DARE they?!?

Bitmapping problems are one thing, but this is too much! I was forgiving on Link's big nose, and I always wondered if they had tried to make Link look non-genderish, but...but this!

*pulls out her Killa9000 and goes hunting some horrible game makers*

Another thing... why did they make the inside of his ears pink like some sort of animal?

It's kind of sad... I have seen these for sale at Sears many years ago (although strangely years after the CD-i was dead). The box art was nice... it used offical Nintendo work and everything else. Even stuff like Mario's Casino had nice art.

But the games... ugh. Oh well. Let's forget they exist please heh.

What an insult to the Zelda games.
I couldn't have said it better myself. The people that did the cut scene graphics on those games need some serious help... By which I mean large, blunt objects hitting their skulls at high velocity. :whoops:

Anyway, now that we've all seen the craptacular graphics of the CD-i games, I think it's time to close this thread since it's attracting what is basically the same post over and over again. And now, let us never speak of the horrors contained in this thread again. :cross:
